i'm assuming this refers to some type of metaphysical epiphany where one's soul and psyche is born anew from the golfing experience

I had an epiphany today, I realized what a silly game golf is, you hit a little white ball 500 yds, then miss a 3' putt, then do it again and again. It's a fragile affair especially when the weather is lousy, your eyes are tearing up because of a cruel wind so that you can't even see the line.

The new birth occurs with the realization that both consciousness and sin are partners in crime, with awareness as a third party who is really orchestrating the entire fiasco, and this realization can come on a golf course or driving home after a particularly taxing round.

To play or not to play, that is the question.
