  1. I think there is a way to shim the hozel it to get the desired loft, but bending is out of the question with hollow headed woods and hybrids. They don't have the strength to undergo that kind of torque. Ask a club fitter for a definite answer.
  2. Right now I'm playing the MP-T 53* Raw haze wedge. I had mine bent to 52* to make a more even gap between my PW and SW. No complaints so far about the club. I get a good amount of spin and use it for shots from 115 and in depending on my lie etc.
  3. I haven't had mine measured with my current driver setup, but I'm probably around 115-120 on good loose days. My average carry is probably 275-280 when I hit it solid, which isn't very often. I try to keep my swing around 105-110 to keep it in the fairway around 260 or so
  4. I play COD4 for PS3. My tag is DirtyPo37. I'm getting burnout paradise soon from Game Fly. I have a feeling I'll be keeping it for a while.
  5. I'm a classic rock fiend. Here's my list, no approx high to low order: Beatles Led Zep (except for Robert Plant) The Who Cream Hendrix The Band Bob Dylan SRV Blues Brothers (so what if they're a TV band, they can really blow!) Creedence Queen early Bowie The Doors ELO Grand Funk The Guess who Neil young Doobie Brothers Temptations Otis Redding Rolling Stones Johnny Cash Willie Nelson Old bluegrass Ben Fold (five) Pearl Jam Weezer's first 2 albums The Shins Victor Wooten Ray Charles Buddy Holly Roy Orbison too many more I also dig classical/romantic music from about 1750-1900, no baroque or modern stuff though. Here's the stuff I can't stand: new country modern hip-hop/rap Bruce Springsteen (I really despise him) Genesis Fleetwood Mac
  6. It's merely a bracket that allows you to mount your own camera to a bar. Other than that it doesn't do anything that a couple of bungie cords or just balancing your camera on the seat of the golf cart would do. It looks pretty gimmecky to me.

  8. "PWNAGE" is a use of the internet gaming language known as "leet" speak (as in elite). It derives from common typing mistakes while playing internet games such as Counter Strike. Since the letters p and o are next to each other on the qwerty keyboard, it is a common mistake while typing very fast, and often with only one hand. What the original poster was trying to say is that he "owns" everyone. His use of the phrase "I am the pwnage" is not only bad English, but also bad "leet." Please refer any other strange internet language questions you have to me for interpretation.
  9. It's one of the things I struggle with most. As a big guy (6' and over 250 lbs) I "know" that I should be able to bomb it out there as long as anybody, but so many bad things happen when you try to swing @ 110%. Your grip tightens as do the muscles in your legs and arms. All I usually end up with is a big huge slice when I try and do that. Sometimes I have to step back from the ball and tell myself that I don't have to kill it. That's when I get my best drives. As you start to be able to control your average shots you'll better be able to reach for a little extra on those wide open par 5s. With iron shots I've found that taking an extra club will make you think about a smoother motion. Ego is nobody's friend on the golf course. I can hit my 9i 160 but I'm much more likely to hit my 8i that far, and on target with a 70% swing, plus if I catch a big divot I won't tear my back out or screw up my wrists.
  10. With your handicap level I would recommend the Mizuno 57's or 60's. They are still a muscle back, but a little more forgiving than the sticks you listed. Ask if you can try the clubs out for a round before you commit to buy anything.
  11. Driver - 275 3 wood - 250-260 18* Hybrid - 230-240 21* Hybrid - 220 24* Hybrid -210 5 iron - 200 6 iron - 185 7 iron - 170 8 iron - 160 9 iron - 150 pw - 135 52* gw - 115 56* sw - 100
  12. No money league. Let me know if interested. I'm hoping to do an online draft, but it might not be possible with different schedules and such. If not we'll have a slow draft via a message board.
  13. Just wondering if anybody around the boards is interested in joining a new keeper league. Format is H2H with 10-12 teams depending on interest. Let me know if interested. Host will most likely be ESPN.
  14. I actually played in a one club tourney a few times. I usually took a 4 or 5 iron. If I had 3 I'd go with 18* Hybrid 7 Iron Gape wedge with low bounce
  15. Longest Drive (flat hole) - probably 340ish Longest Eagle Streak - 1 hole Longest Birdie Streak - 2 holes Most Birdies in a Round - 3 Lowest Number of Putts - 30 Lowest Score - 73 on a par 70 Longest Hole-Out - approx 150 with my 9 iron Number of ACES - 0 Number of Double-Eagles - 0
  16. I only play twice a month as that is what I can afford financially and schedually. I'm hoping to increase that to once a week or so this next season, but it will depend on my work and other items. In college I played twice a week and had my handicap to around a 10, but gone are those days. I appreciate the suggestions on this thread. I think I'll give the Hogans a full season to see how we get along. I'm hoping to get a lesson or two this year as well, and hopefully that will help more than new irons would.
  17. I don't think I'm shooting consistently enough, or often enough to hit the 33's and not get frustrated to hell.
  18. I stopped by a local golf store yesterday to browse the merchandise hoping for some after X-mas sale. Got a good deal on a brand new TM RAC TP wedge for $80. I had some time to kill and started hitting the Mizuno MP-57 and MP-60 on the indoor range. These clubs felt awesome. You can check out my signature to see what I'm currently playing for irons. I was just wondering if there are any recommendations based on my HC (around 13) and frequency of play (2x/mo during the summer. Should I get some Mizuno muscle or stick with my current sticks? I really miss long irons, and haven't been getting along well at all with the Hogan Apex hybrids. I'll have to wait until income tax return time to get the new clubs if I decide to, but I've got the golf itch bad right now. Too bad all the courses are covered with snow. Thanks for the advice.
  19. Wow...I'm a sort of music buff and there is really no way to answer that question. I'd have to go by genre at least to try and narrow it down. I can't even pick my favorite song, because I go through so many phases in my listening week by week. If you put a gun to my head and said what's the greatest song ever...I'd just let you shoot me. Lately one of my favorites has been Ben Folds Five - Underground I do give my props to Boston's first album as one of the greatest debuts ever. The guitar and production on all the tracks is great. To bad the rest of their stuff was mediocre at best. But really, you asked an impossible question.
  20. Shot a 73 on a par 70 course in 2006. It was my first round with new clubs, and I played barefoot. I finished the front 1 under. I have no idea where that round came from, or where it went. I was probably a 18-19 at the time. I'm consistently shooting in the low 80s now, but can't break into the 70s again.
  21. I think the weight transfer problem was a result of wearing the sandals for the video. I don't usually have that problem. My slice is coming from the outside-in and over the top problem. My weight transfer is usually the only thing that's right with my swing.
  22. I'm looking to straighten the flight of my long clubs. I'm not looking to hit a draw, and a small fade is fine by me, but the long fade/slice is killing my approach shots. I'm thinking about getting some lessons next spring with the local pro to work on my over the top/outside-in swing.
  23. Uploading a short video of my swing. The only shot I got was DTL with my 5 or 6 iron, I can't remember which. Usually I'm fighting a fade with anything over a 7 iron, and can't figure out why. Hopefully someone can see something that will help me out. I'm aware that my tempo is extremely fast, but when I try and slow it down everything gets out of whack. That's pretty much a normal swing for me, except I'm not wearing sandals on the course. Thanks in advance
  24. I hit both for a few swings at a local store. I couldn't get past the square head look. I've also hit the SQ2, but that was a bit easier to handle than the FTi. Also, the FT-i looked like it had too much loft, even in the 10*. FT-5 is a classic looking driver. Like you said, demo will determine your final choice.
