  1. Doctors have advised Tiger not to fly. Which is why he missed the tournament he was hosting.
  2. I don't have the same problem now loosing balls off the tee and what not. IF I do i generally drop where i'm standing and take my penalty stroke. Again I don't take practice swings so I'm still pretty quick. When I would hit OB and just drop out I wasn't keeping score for my handicap anyway so it's sort of a moot point. Actually I just started truly keeping my score for the full 18 as normally I would just stop keeping score and just enjoy the rest of my round minus worrying about my round. Quick antidote. I was having a decent round today until my playing partner hit a hole in one on a 120 yard par 3. Not trying to out do him I nuked a Pitching wedge long and left off the cart path and landed on the green behind the hole we were playing. Took my drop from the tee box (today there were 2 groups of 4 somes stacked up on tee boxes in front of us so was going no where fast) moved down to a gap wedge stuck the shot 15 feet from the pin and proceeded to 3 put from there for a triple bogey. Needless to say my round was shot after that as I couldn't get out of my own way. I hit only 2 greens in reg. on the front 9 and 0 yes 0 on the back nine. ugh what a day. But all the congrats in the world to my playing partner as that was his first hole in one.
  3. Less video of you and more video of her :)
  4. Thanks. And it was more I didn't want to give my self more credit than I thought I deserved. I assumed I was a 32. And when i started on this board I was probably pretty close to it. But I have been working hard so I can't wait to find out what my real index is.
  5. lol. Not true! over here in Atlanta my home course is actually 2 exectutive courses side by side. All the cart girls are freshman/sophomore college girls. All Hot. Except one. And I can neither confirm nor deny the statement about giving you their number.
  6. I don't stack and tilt. But it wasn't until I tried to do the stack and tilt that I had that major breakthrough with my irons. Went from being an incosistant sweeper to taking a fair divot.
  7. ahh. no he was asking why I a 32 handicapper was playing a course with that slope/ranking.
  8. I understand the reason behind multiple sets of tee's. You won't find me playing from anything further back than the blue's unless it's a REALLY short course No. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't play Torrey Pines. Which is what I got out of Iacas, that if i'm a high handicapper i should stay far far away. No that 96 was from the blue tee's. As noted earlier I have just started keeping my scores on GHIN. I have 4 rounds in the books right now. If i read correctly I should have my index after the 5th round. Also I read some where that you should take your average 5iron distance and multiply it by some number and that gives you what course yardage you should be looking to play. For me it came out to about 6400 yards. Which for most courses I play is from the blue tee's. Don't get me wrong I agree with the premises for both your arguements. I just think Iacas was being a bit to general for me. And again I'm sure he wasn't trying to come off that way. Or i even took it wrong. It is the internet though so that happens from time to time.
  9. it is a very bad generalization. Maybe i'm the exception to the rule but as I said. I'm a VERY fast player and I will NEVER be the one to hold up any group. And I'm sure it's just because it's the internet and hard to tell the tone of your statement through Arial Font but I will say this. Your arguement makes you sound like a golf snob/elitist. Like only those good enough to have a 15 index or lower should be alowed on challenging courses. As if all handicappers 20 and higher should have to wear a sign on our backs so those that are 10's and lower have the right to hit into us if we happen to 3 or even 4 putt on a green. Again. I'm sure your not like that and I can understand the cruxt of your arguement if in fact ALL high handicappers were slow. But I've played behind MORE than my fair share of SLOW low handicap golfers myself. Pace of play is not a problem solely unto us high 'uns... Heck even the tour is struggling with it. I'll also add this. I have more fun playing a course with that sort of rating and shooting a 115 (however I shot a 96) than I do sitting behind my desk working for the man.
  10. iascas... inquiring minds want to know!
  11. I have no idea what my real handicap is. That was a stab. However playing from the blues I did shoot a 96 on the day. No mulligans. I just started keeping track of my scores for handicapping purposes. Put 4 rounds in so far. This round in particular was round number 1. Also I fully believe in putting a challenge out there for you. I have a bad tendency to play up or down to my competition. So if I'm playing a relatively easy course I tend to shoot worse than if I'm playing a much more challenging course. Besides. I move along quite quickly when I golf. I'd almost call myself a speed golfer in that i've already made up my mind on the next shot before i get to my ball. Typically hit the ball much better without any sort of practice swing. And if i can't find my ball with a quick glance I'll drop one or if I know there is no way it's findable from the tee i'll tee it up again and be hitting 3. So my question to you is this... Why wouldn't a 32 handicap play a course like i did?
  12. ha nevermind. turns out GHIN does it for you automatically.
  13. So I played a course that had 3 nines. each with their own slope rating. How do I figure out what my total slope and rating were for the 2 nines I did play that made up my 18 hole round? front nine 140/36.8 Back nine 133/37 Or do I just post my score as two individual 9hole rounds for handicapping purposes?
  14. Good question. I love the Nike line. Personally I hit the Mizuno MP-32's better than I hit the CCi Forged which is why I switched. But I did just pick up a brand spanking new sumo 3 wood.
  15. When Sophie admitted she didn't pick up the flag "to show Christina how it felt" She lost ALL credibility when it came to her etiquite comments.

    Formula 1?

As a Honda fan let me say I really miss Geoff Willis. You don't know how much it pains me to watch Honda fall further back while Geoff brings Red Bull Racing up to the high mid fielders with a customer motor.
  18. So in the past week I've had 2 revelations that I will see immediate improvement in my game from. 1) So I haven't been able to hit a solid drive since.. oh I started golfing. Some how it just clicked in me what my issue was. While I was getting a good full shoulder turn on my back swing I wasn't continuing my shoulder turn through my swing which was creating a very armsy swing. So I should be able to save literally 6 strokes a round by not spraying the ball into the woods/water etc...(yes I know I didn't have to hit driver off the tee but damn it i paid good money for the driver might as well use it! ) 2) So I've really been struggling with the putter too. So just out of sheer frustration I started using a grip similar to Tigers except I actually still interlock my pinky and pointer fingers as I do on all my other clubs. Gives me much better control over the path of my club for some reason. This should shave another 3-6 shots per round. So all that being said any one else have these sort of revelations lately? Maybe something will click for me.
  19. Bought a new Adidas stand bag and a new towel.
  20. I've started walking my home course. Its an executive course and i have a membership so it's free if you walk. However I'm extremely hairy and I get over heated in the summer so I prefer to ride in the summer for that one reason.

    I Believe...

I believe... That while I know that your putting/chipping is the quickest way to lower your score, for me personally if I could get off the tee box with out dropping a stroke due to lost ball/ball O.B. I'd drop 10 strokes a round off my score. I believe... That no matter what club I have in my hand on the tee box I will pull/slice/duck hook the ball. I believe... I have a mental block on the tee box I believe... Trading in my Nike Slingshot OSS for Mizuno MP 32's have made the biggest improvement for me on my iron play. I believe.... The preceeding statement is null and void if I'm on the tee box I believe... My mother will be aggitated when she finally realizes the $100 set of clubs she bought for my 2 year old won't work for her because my daughter is going to be left handed apparently
  22. I've got a good one too. My "home" course is actually 2 executive courses side by side. One a little longer than the other. I went to play the longer but a school tournament was going on so I played the shorter of the two. 1st hole is a 120yd par 3. I have to wait literally 5 minutes while a guy and his girlfriend/wife (who i could tell was learning the game) took forever to putt out. Finishing the last of their putts with a smooch before putting the flag stick back in. Now I wasn't annoyed at this point because I wasn't behind them when they started the hole so it was possible they didn't realize I was there. However, after their little make out session they did notice I was there and proceeded to the next hole. Now I'm not a good player. I had no one behind me either so I hit 3 balls off the tee and played all three (putting each one out). So imagine my surprise when I get to the second tee and the couple is still teeing off !!!!! This continued for 3 more holes. Not once did the guy offer to let me play through. So there was a part of the course where I could skip them and play the next 3 holes then come back and play the hole I skipped and move on. Well imagine my disgust when I got through two of those holes only to get stuck behind 2 more walkers who were sharing a bag!!!! I was beyond agitated at this point. Looking all over the place for a ranger but none to be found. Well I was able to play those 3 holes and go back and play the one hole that I skipped due to the couple in the time it took them to play the one hole I skipped. Luckily I was able to get passed the two groups going this route and finish the last 10 holes in just over an hour.
  23. I could have watched the Cirbie interviews in that black low cut top she was wearing all night had my hand not gotten raw... Hmmm TMI.
  24. I've played several courses recently that don't have yardage markers other than the 100 yard maker/stake. I've been debating on getting a GPS. But everytime I play a course that has GPS on the cart I definately use it. But at the same time i love the guessing part and seeing how right/wrong I was. I'm just so conflicted. Maybe i'll get a GPS but set it up to only give me measurements in Metric since I have no idea how long a Metre is :) Best of both worlds right there!
  25. My thoughts are using super game improvement irons to me would seem to instill into you those bad swing habits that you can't have and be successfull with a blade/muscle back etc. I played Slingshot OSS and my swing and ball striking is 100 times bettter now that I use the MP 32's. Sure i struggled a bit with consistancy when i first started hitting them. But I quickly over came those swing flaws. Now if I could just get my mental game as strong as my ball striking I could be dangerous.
