  1. I've got my Titleist and Spaulding Tour Edition persimmons from back in the day and they sure are pretty and make a nice display piece. I put a fairway wood in the bag every once in a while and everyone ohs and ahs and they want to give it a shot. you can get a real deal on some nice ones. I think you could put one in your bag as a "Hybrid" because a 5 persimmon with a steel shaft is not the same as a 5 titanium.
  2. Do you like the clubs? If so it was a good deal. If you don't it wasn't. No point in shopping after you bought them. And for the record I've bought 200 things mostly putters but also high end camera gear and am 100% good with ebay. There is always some rist but if you deal with high rated sellers and use paypal you should be good.
  3. Try a different shaft. Just because you always play the DG S 300 doesn't mean that's the shaft for that club and your swing. switch it up and if you can't find the right combo, walk away and find what works not what looks good. Otherwise I've got some Callaway X tours for you. I prefer the MP-33's. Live and learn.
  4. I'm a 9 and my putting has gotten so much better. I was at terrible putter. I recently remodeled my basement and put in a 400 sf putting green on half of it. I drilled 5 holes and cemented cups in. I go down and hit putts for 15 min or so almost daily and it has provided results I would have never expected. I hate to practice and going to the range is never on my radar but this little bit every day is really helpful. It has also gotten me crazy into putters and I will tell you they make a difference. Not so much on cost but on making sure they fit your stroke and stance. So yes it might be the putter http://thesandtrap.com/forum /emoticons/tongue.png
  5. Practice, practice, practice, If that doesn't work try lessons and then practice, pracyice, practice.
  6. Ping eye 2 becu 1-lw Palmer Original limited edition 662/1000 still in the wrappers 2 - pw Taylor made RAC coin forged Hogan Apex Pro Mizuno MP 33 Callaway X tour taylor Made Rac OS graphite -----------for sale
  7. if in good condition it may be worth something, check ebay
  8. I've got a half dome type with the 2 poles that "bungy " together and there is a "floor" to it. If you put a big piece of carpet from the floor of the net to where you hit from it makes the net pretty sturdy. It's also best if you have the carpet curl up at the net to protect the seam from flooring to net. That seems to be the weak spot in these.
  9. you could just put a plug in the 33 shaft and regrip, there is no real need to reshaft.
  10. Scottys are great but the rest of your list is so everyman. Try something a little different. A John Byron, TP mills or a Bettinardi. Not the Hogan or Mizuno Bettinardi. The old ones.
  11. And you drink that stuff?
  12. I love golf as much for the comeradity as I do for the sport. Playing by yourself is is like, well, playing with yourself. You get plenty of strokes buts it's more fun with a partner. On the occation that I do find myself with an opportunity to play alone I will usually ask the group I catch up to if they mind if I play along. even if it's a 5 some.
  13. if you put the lead down the shart what do you put over it to hold it in?
  14. Thanks for posting this. If they have any left I'll buy one. I have a real putter problem. I just love the milled high end stuff.
  15. you can never have to many quality putters, they are like family heirloomsand really never loose their value. Like say a $400 driver 2 years ago that's now worth $50
  16. Scoring club? Considering that par is determined by how many shots it takes to get to the green and 2 putts. Don't you want your best club suited to putting?
  17. Remember this is the same stuff they use for guns, guns don't get smashed through the sand. The best way to remove rust from your wedges is to run it through the sand a bunch of times so it do a real job on the blueing. But it does wear in such a way as to show whether the lie is right for you. The bottom inch or so will end up bare after about 10-15 rounds depending on how much time you spend in the sand.
  18. I've read on some other sites that the key to bluing is heat. Heat the head with a torch, blue, rinse, steel wool, repeat until you get to where you want to be. Then apply the oil. You can get the blueing chemicals at Dicks, Walmart, Bass proshops, and on line
  19. Driver, 5 iron , 8 iron gw and putter. I've done this a number of times and the funny thing is your score doesn't change all that much.
  20. It's probably the 9" between your ears thats not letting you hit fairway woods. Try some different ones with a positive attitude. You can never hit a club that you think you can't hit. Might just be the club.
  21. yes you can , But, be very carefull removing the shaft. When you heat graphite it gets very soft and if you twist it it turns to mush. You will need a shaft puller that removes it straight under low heat.
  22. I've got the 905T and the 905R both with the same graphite design shaft and I like the T much better that the R. Some times bigger and newer isn't better and the v2 shaft is supposed to go low. By the way if you are trying to sell that club I'd bash it less. Play up the long, low boring shots. Tough to get a good price with "this thing sucks want to buy it"?
  23. list it on the marketplace of the sand trap
  24. knowing what to do and being able to do it are two completely different things
  25. Sure do, 5 sets of irons, 100 putters a dozen wedges 6 drivers. It's hard to pass a golf store and not stop by to see what you have to have. I do however get to blame my two teenage sons for the excess and why we "need" it. besides trading your gear gets you squat. I was in a golf galaxy last week and a guy had just traded in a like new scotty studio style and they gave him $84. I'm sorry but I'd much rather have it collect dust in my basement. Stumble upon a deal like the Scotty and you have to pick it up.
