  1. In my opinion a lot. The pro v1 has a much better feel around the green then the nxt does. They both really feel the same off the driver and irons though.
  2. I have the nike sumo. I love my driver. i can cream it, although its not straight all the time.
  3. Yea set your club down and square it, then take your grip making sure your club is still square.
  4. Well the hook is you are getting your hands past the ball before your club face. As for squaring the club face, make sure you are taking your grip with it square. I have a problem of taking my grip and then unsquaring the face of the club.
  5. Same thing I noticed. On your swing your neither of your feet should move until after you have made contact with the ball. Work on swaying your weight to your left foot on your back swing and then moving it to the right foot on your down swing.
  6. Personally i would go to the range until the problem is resolved. I would not go the range and practice your typical swing over and over as you will ingrain your bad swing over and over again. Each swing try something different. Try bring the club back in a line for as long as you can, or try turning your grip a little bit until you hit a ball straight. Then use the same swing you did for a couple hits to see if that is really what is fixing it or it was just a fluke.
  7. That was extremely well said.

    Score Question

Usually that policy is insurance reasons. It costs a lot for courses to pay insurance for such young people. Plenty of courses in my area don't let people under 21 take carts. As for people that walk and are slow, i've noticed most people that walk tend to be better players than people that take carts. I'm not saying all are but usually the people that walk aren't searching for their ball every shot. I also feel that walking keeps a better pace of play going. When I walk, I am not usually waiting to hit every shot and therefore i get in a better grove and tend to play better.
  9. I know what you mean. I think the same way but I hardly ever add my totals up till atleast hole 16 or 17. If my friends do they know not to tell me because i get pretty mad. I ruin rounds when I know stuff like, if i par this hole i shot a 39 on 9 holes. I usually wind up double bogey or worse because i will try to get cute and play shots that i don't really know how to play. the less you know the better.
  10. I know the feeling. Try to only play shots that you know you can do. When your 200 away from the green and in the rough, instead of going for it, clubs down and go for the fairway in front of the green and give your self a chance for a nice up and down. Again when you are behind trees and you have a 1 foot gap to try to get the ball through, just punch it out and try to advance the ball 50 or so yards. That last item has really been saving me strokes. The number 1 thing i would say, is don't get caught up in your score. Try not to count or let someone tell you, hey your 2 over at 6. Next thing you know your 4 over after 7. When you are playing well, you know it, you dont need a score to tell you that. Wait till the end of the round to add up everything.
  11. I almost did that to a friend about 3 weeks ago. Me and one friend were at the tee box. I was teeing off and the other kid was grabbing a ball from the golf carts. I severely heeled my ball and hit it almost straight behind me. The ball went just over his head by about 6 inches. Now, none of my friends ever stand anywhere in front of one of my shots.
  12. Yesterday was a golf filled day. I played 9 early on and shot a 47. Later i played 18 and shot a 90. I was pretty happy with the improvement.
  13. When i test putts on those little practice greens in the store i hit a couple balls off the toe and heel to see what happens if (more like when) i do that. I looked for something that didn't seem to go way off line so i could still recover and hopefully make the next putt.
  14. Well I am going to try to.
  15. In my opinion, for the $1500 you would spend to get clubs that you can hit the sweet spot 35% more often, you could get a lot of good lessons for that same amount of money and improve your game more than any clubs or shafts will. You said you are a 27 handicap, I think i would just take the custom fit clubs with the proper lie, grips, shaft (not pured) and shaft length and go get some good lessons with the saved money. Clubs can only do so much to improve your game. But even if you are hitting the sweet spot more often and the club face is open, your not improving anything.
  16. The longest ball I ever played was an off brand called Vectra. Even good shots felt like bad shots. I played these when i first started. They were $9 for 15. Right now the farthest golf ball i play is a Range ball Actually anytime i find a Slazenger i seem to hit those pretty far and they don't feel too bad. Topflites go really far to but they have no feel to them i usually will tee one up on a hole and just hit it for S&G;'s.
  17. I agree that Callaway Big Bertha vs. Titleist NXT is not a fair comparison. Although that being said I would take the Titleist for each price range of ball until the Premium balls. Then I would much rather take the HX Tour or HX Tour 56 over the Pro V1 or Pro V1x.
  18. I think i might have to drive out there and check it out.
  19. I agree. Personally I think golf is more addictive than Heroin or Crack. You just can't quit it.
  20. The phenomenon of loosing a ball is usually attributed to inconsiderate golfers coming up the next hole. People seem to think that just because this ball that shouldn't be in their fairway or rough is fair game to pick up. This is common in my rounds with friends. We are all long hitters and as most know, a long hitter for an amateur usually means playing out of opposite fairways and roughs.
  21. I guess you don't take your stroke limit of 7 on a hole with you 10 handicap.
  22. I can't remember anyone really weird that i've played with. Probably just the guys that are really bad and once they hit 1 good shot they are telling you everything wrong with your swing.
  23. I just signed up for a 5 lesson package. My game has fallen apart all of sudden. The draw I had with my irons is now of a hook and my fade with my driver is now a huge slice. I still can't figure out why I love this game.
  24. I would say my favorite club right now is my PW. I hit it about 160 and its always a perfect shot. I rarely if ever chunk it. Other than my sand wedge and putter this is probably my used club.
  25. I strongly agree. My best round of the season i had 36 putts with about 10 gir's and still shot an 86. I've also had rounds of
