Thanks guys I think I will go with the Ping Hoofer Vantage... seems like the best fit, and offers everything I need.

Hey everyone I know a lot of you probably saw it, but Adam Scott just holed a 48 ft putt at the Byron Nelson to win in the 3rd hole of playoffs! This is a great win for Scott as he was looking for another tour victory. Also, this win gives Scott a lot of momentum going into the Players tournament. I'm glad to see my boy win another tournament. Everyone what do you think of Scott, and his potential for the rest of the 2008 season?

Yeah wow you need more than 6 dividers? I only have 4 now, but want at least 1 more. I almost always carry my bag. 99% of the time, unless I'm playing with my dad and his friends. I need a bag that is light, with good straps, good legs, 5 dividers, and enough room for all 14 clubs. Also need a good ball pocket, and a couple others for sunblock, and a light jacket.

Hey everyone I'm looking for a new stand bag, and was wondering what everyone thought was the best? Right now I have a Titleist x58 from about 3 years ago, and the legs are starting to break, and all of my clubs don't fit in properly. Also, it doesn't separate or organize the clubs as well as it used to. I'm looking to get a Ping Hoofer Vantage, just wondering if that is a good choice for space, good organization, and durability? Tell me what you guys use, and what you think is the best.

Shot 76 at my home course today. Took my friends advice and shortened my backswing. Made a huge difference... hitting everything perfectly. Missed some birdie putts but overall stayed very consistent. Front 37 8 Pars, 1 Bogey Back 39 6 Pars 3 Bogeys

The key to the 905R is just keeping the club face closed when you swing... nothing complicated.

Hahaha all these posts are hilarious! I missed it last night, but have it on my dvr so I will hopefully watch it when I get home from the range around 5.

Definitely go back to Golfsmith to see if you were truly fit, and if you were just keep practicing with them until you get better. Sometimes when you play with shorter irons you groove your swing to get used to them, and might just need to groove it back to the proper length for your swing and size.
-
MP-60s might be a little hard to hit, but sometimes if you go online there will be an option to buy a single iron. Usually this is a 3 iron because sets are now sold in 4-PW, but you might be able to find a 2 iron like this online. Try TGW.com or Golfsmith.com

The G10s are sooo nice... I haven't tried the irons, but I've hit the hybrid and woods and let me tell you... that club feels like magic when you hit it.
-
I'm 6'3 and use standard clubs, and they seem to be fine... maybe I should get fitted though.
-
It may be right to have some grip showing, but only a little. As for you losing distance it makes perfect sense... the more length of club you have the more leverage thus producing more distance. Thats why I grip down when I wanna hit a shorter shot.

Haven't bought anything yet this year, but plan to make big changes to my bag. I'm going to purchase a cleveland 52*° wedge this weekend and I want to get a nickent 3 wood soon also. Other than that im looking at a hybrid, and new putter.

This show is great... I love all the big breaks, and its funny how that girl doesn't wear shoes. I forgot my golf shoes today, and I still managed a 41... don't think they help entirely, its just more of knowing you have them on rather than the actually stability they provide. I will definitely not forget them next time though!

Approach shots are the best because you have to really analyze your shot your about to hit and figure out how the green will react, and where the pin is. The excitement watching an approach shot go close is much more exciting then any other shot. Smoking drives 300 yards straight down the fairway is also exciting too though.

For a while I was hitting drives low, and cutting them and thought I was losing my control with my driver. Then I realized I was teeing it up way too low. I teed it up higher and now I'm hitting my drives fine.

Do You Use Round or Ribbed Grips?
bflat450 replied to The Gill's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I use round grips. I picked up my friends club the other day, and asked him what was wrong with his grip and realizing that it was ribbed... I felt kinda stupid, but round is what works for me. -
Clubhead speed problems when hitting driver?
bflat450 replied to twotacosfor99cents's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
The key is to find a nice median between slow smooth swing, and fast powerful swing. If I can keep my swing smooth, and still quick, but not too quick I can really pure the ball nicely. -
Well I don't have a 52, and I needed one twice today in only 9 holes. I hit my 56 degree no longer than 105 max, and my pw is my 125 club. In between there I need a 52 degree to take a full swing, and make shots from 105-125. Im going to buy one this weekend since I only have 13 clubs in my bag right now anyway.
-
41 on the back of my course... Missed 2 par putts and 2 birdie putts. Really think I could've pulled together a better round. I was staying somewhat consistent with only a few mishits. Needed a 52 degree wedge twice... ended up overshooting the green, im going to buy one this weekend. Overall not too bad... hit the ball solid.
-
Haha yeah don't start him too early! I started beating my dad when I was 12 (also 16 now)
-
For me I think it has more to do with hitting off the tee. I may have a good hole and get confident and then just slice a driver into the trees, and blow my hole. If I can just get more in control of my driver, and other shots off the tee, setting myself up for better second shots, my mid and short game will do the rest.
-
I hate par 5s that are unreachable in two because there is a dogleg after your second shot. Then if you hit a bad second shot, you have to hit another to the corner. On a normal par 5 you could hit a poor second shot, and still hit the green on a 3rd shot.

Basically its an old complete set I had when I was younger, and just started golf. I still like the feel of the putter so I just regripped it, but I now want to get a Yes! putter. Also, I'm hoping to get a new 3 wood, and hybrid.
