I think Ben Curtis wearing the logos and colors of the local NFL team is the coolest thing in golf. There's a hundred PGA pros on the course every weekend sporting some financial/investment/consulting firm logo I've never heard of and don't care about. I still have no idea what the crap "KPMG" is on Phil Mickelson's cap, and I'm not going to take time to look it up. I'm sure they do one of the three things I just mentioned. Anyway, Ben wearing the NFL stuff is very intelligent marketing and in my opinion makes him the most creatively dressed guy on the course when he plays." I can't believe nobody thinks his endorsement deal is as cool as I do. I guess that just proves I'm getting to be an old fart with bad tastes.

I'd pick Steve Stricker, Woody Austin, JB Holmes (b/c he played golf for Kentucky if for no other reason), and Brandt Snedeker.

In the new edition of GOLF Magazine, with Stewart Cink on the cover, Mr. Cink has one of the best articles I've seen in a while about not over-thinking, and how to become a "feel" player. It spoke to me anyway, I've already read it like four times.

In the Fall when the leaves are starting to fall. Temps in the 50's or 60's, light jacket weather. Teeing off early in the morning on Saturday to finish 18 before college football starts. I hate hot weather.

I didn't used to, but I live in NW Arkansas where they played the Northwest Arkansas Classic on July 4th weekend. I went two days and became a big fan. They are really good, they've got some great swings to watch, and most of them are super nice and great with the crowd.

My wife bought me the full 4-pack set of Brush-Tees for Father's Day a couple of years ago, after she saw an infomercial on The Golf Channel. They actually work OK...but I just can't bring myself to use them.

Who the hell cares? I clicked on this thread b/c I thought it was a joke! Are we planning a sleepover so we try each others on ? Is there a new USGA study about to be released showing a direct corelation between shoe size and driving distance? Or perhaps those who wear size 8 or lower chip better? Intelligent conversation please!

I agree totally, the NFL has to protect the NFL. If I learned anything from the Duke Lacrosse case, it reminded me that we are innocent until proven guilty. The difference here is that from the beginning the Duke case had conflicting evidence and the Vick case looks like it has some pretty hard evidence against him.

I remember reading, I believe in Golf Digest, Bob Vokey was quoted as saying most players would be better off with a 58*. I couldn't agree more. I used to have a 60* Cleveland 588 and switched to a 58* Vokey. I always had trouble with the 60* sliding under the ball, the ball just rolls up the clubface and I'd get no distance, I would have to hit with the shaft angled way forward to avoid this. I've never had that trouble with the 58*, it's just as versatile too, but easier too hit. 2* makes a lot of difference.

Sergio is a polarizing figure, but I've always liked him...seems to have a good personality and I appreciate his passion. His passion however, seems to lack the killer instinct and nerves of steel needed to close out tournaments, especially majors. It wouldn't bother me if he wins tomorrow, but I predict he'll show up wearing a hideous outfit (e.g. last year's British Open pale yellow crap) and blow it. I really hope he doesn't but if I was a betting man I wouldn't bet on him pulling it out - too much history against it. I'm with you Erik on DiMarco....I like him too, but he definitely falls under the "What have you done for me lately?" category.

I'm an avid reader of all things golf, I especially love to do research on equipment because I'm a junkie just like the rest of you. Started out in golf in 1999 with clubs I bought through classified ads or store closeouts. Good stuff though, Titleist and Callaway mostly, all with stiff shafts. Two years ago wanted to completely re-tool. Fitting and launch monitors being the new rage, I decided I needed to get fit before re-tooling. If you've ever noticed in Golf Digest, they seem to recommend that we all play 23* drivers and several hybrids all with senior flex low-kick shafts. My fitter subscribed to this theory - "Everybody needs more loft and more flexible shafts!" Anyway, I bought into and now I have a bag full of stuff that I can't play, or can't control anyway. Just wondering if there are any more victim's out there and what your experiences are.
