What about the UST Proforce v2 hybrid and wood shaft? It seems like for a long time they have been a really popular shaft for players looking for a good mix between price and performence. Would it work for my swing though? I've heard it works better for people with more smooth swings though?

Hey, I'm looking for a new shaft for both my nike SQ hybrid and my TM Burner 3-wood. I would like to keep it below $100 per shaft, so a decently not expensive shaft, but I definately want a good shaft that fits me. What shafts should I look at? Just some info so you guys can help me... The reason I'm getting a new shaft is because I have been hitting these clubs too high, so I want something with a lower ball flight. I'm not a smooth swinger, more of a fast-tempo. My SS is around 105-110. My handicap is about a 5. Thanks.

I had a TM burner 3 wood and was hitting it at the range and started hitting it weird. I looked at the face and there was a crack in the face. I sent it into TM and they were good about it, they just gave me a brand new one. Send it in to TM and they will either fix it or give you a new one. Good luck.

At home I just use a wet towel and wipe them clean. Honestly, on the course, I spit on the clubface and use a brush to clean out the grooves, then wipe it off with a towel.

I semi-recently got the titleist 755's 4-pw. When I bought them I wanted a 3-iron, so I asked them if they could order one for me. No joke, for 5 minutes the cashier tried convincing me not to buy a 3i because it was "worthless" in his opinion.

I was in a similar situation to you, except I was the 755's vs the TM r7 TP's. I got the x-forged, but they were a little too unforgiving, so i just picked up the 755's today. i played a round and loved them. my vote is for the 755's. good luck

So I ended up going with the x-forged. i took em out to a short par 3 course near my house. they were easy to work, as it was expected. Another thing that was not surprising was when you didn't hit them right on the screws, you could tell. a reason why i went with this decision without really thinking too hard was because you can return the clubs within 90 days with a full refund, which is pretty amazing, so i might use them for about 2-3 more weeks, and see what i think after that. if i dont like them after that, i can just take them back and look what else they have. i have been tempted, as they also had a used set of ping i5's for about the same price. i have heard the i5's are fairly easy to work, and fairly forgiving, so they are kinda in the middle. those sound appealing. let me know what you guys think, this can just be another "what irons should i get thread." Thanks for all that have helped me so far!

Thats pretty sick finn, but aparently phil is a really fake person, and this kinda adds to it. how long did it take for phil to sign the glove? 2 seconds? thats still real cool that you got it though. maybe im just bias, for some reason i have hated phil for as long as i can remember

so a little update here. i went to a golf shop, and they have the TM r7 tp's used, and the callaway x-forged used. The callaways are $600, and the TM irons are $670. Unfortunately, they dont have the titleist 755's used, so im either going to go with the callaways or the TM's. The callaways have the project x 6 flighted as shafts, and the TM's have the project x 6.5 as shafts. To recap, I am around a 12 handicapper, but my ball-striking skills are the same as someone with about a 6-9 handicap. i also dont mishit the ball too much with my irons, but i still want something semi-forgiving. which ones should i go with?

Whats your handicap, and how good of a ball-striker are you? im just trying to figure out because i hit the 6 iron, and was wondering if it was hard to hit the 3 and 4 irons

I hit both at a launch monitor today. I was hitting the 6 irons the exact same- 175-180 with a slight draw. The are the same cost, and I have heard great things about both of them. What would you guys recomend?

Well, if money is not an issue, I would go with the 10's instead of the 5's, just because the 10's are newer, and have better technology by a year. If money is an issue, get the 5's, because they will be about $200-$300 cheaper, and not that much different. With that being said, if you the the g5/g10, they would fit your game well right now because they are designed for maximum forgiveness for a high handicapper like yourself. Unfortunately, once you get a bit better, you will want something not as bulky, so you can be able to work the ball better. That brings me to why I think you should get the i5/10's. The i10 irons from what I have heard are pretty forgiving, which is good for a high-handicapper like yourself, but also fairly easy to work the ball for when you get better.

I would be wary about that. I used to play baseball, and my dad got me one of those. I never used it for baseball, but once I started to play golf, I tried setting it up. I hit into it, and the only clubs I can use are 7-9 irons and my wedges, because the rest of my clubs rip holes right through.

I was at the exact same spot where you were 4 months ago. I am athletic, competative, and hard-working. I was also obsessed with the game, so I enjoy working at it. I've been playing for 4 months, and as you can see, my handicap is about 13. I've hit a little bit of a brick wall though, and my scores really haven't improved in the past month. I'm hoping by the 6 month point I'll be able to shoot in the 70's on a good day. I was pretty confident, as it seems you are, at the start, but for me my goal has changed from being a scratch golfer in a year to be able to consistently shoot in the 70's in my first year. If I accomplish this, my goal will then to become a scratch in 2 years. Good luck though. By the way I'll give it a 1%, because if you work as hard as say Vijay Singh does for a year strait, I think you probably could.
