Athletically Fit Golf Shirts
Golf Ghost replied to Golfisfun's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
There are many non-designer name branded shirts that have a slim fit or what you refer to as a "athletic" fit. Sligo is one brand that comes to mind, not to mention brands like Puma offer slim fit polo. I also find Nike to be "athletic" fitting myself, this coming from a guy who is 6'0", 165 lbs. Trust me, I'm all for wanting a nice fitted shirt and there are already plenty out there that are not designer branded (JL,RL,Lacoste, etc) -
Bye bye Chelsea....Forever United.

Where do you buy your apparel?
Golf Ghost replied to arduous1's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
That's what my girlfriend paid for one when she was in Florida last spring. Her father bought like 3 plus of pair of TW pants and it was like $95 taxes in. -
getting fitted for irons saturday
Golf Ghost replied to creedm66's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Agreed, the point of the fitting is to find the right set for you and get the specs to meet your swing pattern. Remember to be open minded during a fitting and not to be narrow minded about brand, if you do that it's basically a waste to be fitted, for the most part. -
Where do you buy your apparel?

If I'm in the States, I always hit up these two places. $20 Nike Dri-fits are too good to pass up on. -
I don't think they should be allowed. It's how its always been and how ti always should be. You don't want to wear a skirt to a job where you have to wear dress pants do you? There will never be a correct answer to this, but lets be honest, it will never effect any of us here, so what difference does it make?

May 2011 Golf Digest Ball Review
Golf Ghost replied to erock9174's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Current Ball: Whatever I end up collecting from working at a course, but the only ball I will actually buy is the Nike Tour D Ball Most Likely to Try: Nike 20XI, being a Tour D fan, have to try it. Only been golfing two full summers and I have played a lot of different balls because of working at a golf course, you collect a lot of balls from low end to premium. The Nike Tour D is one of only two or three balls that I can honestly say I notice a difference in and actually enjoy playing. -
I know everyone is different and you should look at a bunch of different brands/shafts/etc. but I would like to recommend at least looking at the Burner Superfast 2.0 3w. I actually just returned from Golf Town and was testing both the 2.0 and the R11 and I must say, the 2.0 is super long. I was averaging 15-20 yrds further, on average than the R11. I was suggest trying it, with the longer shaft, it will be longer than the average 3w. This is of course, if you like it, but I strongly recommend at least hitting it to see what your numbers are.

She won big break a few seasons ago, believe it was the Sandals Resort season. She has played in a few events this year.
-
You could, but it would be limited to what they could do and it would costs you just as much in the end if they have to add shaft extensions, etc. If you want new irons and are thinking of getting fitting, you are better off getting fitted from the get-go.
-
That can depend on where you buy/get fitted. With the fitting technology out today, I think it's hard not to take advantage of it.

Blair O'Neil.....anyone?

At home, none. I don't buy golf balls. Working at a golf course I always end up gathering Pro V1's/V1x's, along with a few other premium balls. I usually carry around a dozen in the bag at all times, all depends on how many I end up collecting from members or find on the course.

FJ SciFlex, from trying a lot of gloves that I didn't like or they wore out just too quickly for my liking, must say its the only glove I have bought more than once.

Taylormade Warranty Claim Turn Around
Golf Ghost replied to MikeLowry5's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'm not surprised that they sent you the newest model. This use to happen to me all the time with hockey sticks. I would buy the previous years model, then it would break in say 20 days (30 day warranty), I would send it in and they would return the newest model. I never thought I would be a fan of the white until I tried it, though I didn't buy it because of the cost, but after hitting it a few times I almost found it to be more pleasing to look at. Hopefully the same happens to you, good luck. Edit: BTW, what was he process like. Proof of purchase and all that required? Reason I ask is because a lot of times hockey companies would require a lot of information, like receipt and depending on the company, even a statement saying what happened (Warrior required me to do this, for those who know hockey products). -

My friend tried out for the Holland College team in PEI, he's a 2.8 handi. For tryouts they had a three day tournament, he finished 12 over par and wasn't even in the top 15. You have to be able to shoot par consistently at least. University/college golf in Canada is really starting to grow, before all the good players would go to the NCAA because they can offer bigger and better scholarships, but more players are starting to stay, which is great to see.

I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt to the golf course. So?
Golf Ghost replied to PaulMVR's topic in Golf Talk
I'm not a fan of jeans on the course, you can't even walk into the club house where I work with jeans on, so don't even think you'll walk out on the course with them. Playing many sports growing up, every sport, for the most part has a uniform. I believe that flat front pants and a collared shirt is almost like golf's "uniform". Everyone can use their own style with prints, sweaters, shoes, etc. but I think you should dress properly when on the course. This is my opinion, to each there own, if people want to wear jeans, I'm not going to tell them any different, but when it comes to dressing myself, I'm opposed to jeans on the course. -
New Nike 20XI Ball
Golf Ghost replied to ControlJunkie's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Read this a few weeks back, pretty cool article. Really looking forward to this ball, being a fan of the Tour D. Nike is making a bold move here, which could push balls in a new direction technology wise and I really hope it pays off for them and golfers alike. -
Nike ONE Tour D
Golf Ghost replied to sherwoodnatl's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Working at a golf course has it perks, as I'm sure anyone who has worked at one themselves knows, you tend to collect a lot of golf, particularly high end balls. That being said, the One Tour D is the only ball I will actually go out and buy. Offers distance up there with any other high end, distance oriented balls (Pro V1x, etc.), but offers better feel around the greens and in the short irons. If you ask me, it's possibly the best all round ball I've played, for my skill level anyways. -
Just so people don't think I'm so rich, snobby person who is looking at buying $95 CND polo's. My girlfriend has a cousin who lives in France and she has some connections. So,after shipping I could get a few at about $45 CND each. As said, I normally pick up a lot of my golf clothing when I go to the US at Macy's or Marshals. Thank's everyone for their help thus far, really is appreciated.

No problem, just passing on some information, don't want to see a nice pair of shoes go to waste.

Bought a Taylormade TM-110 Ghost. Came down to that at Nike Method Core, but the Method had too much weight in the toe for my liking. Hopefully will be able to get out to the course when it opens April 15th to finally try it in a round, an hour on artificial turf just doesn't allow me to get a full feel with it.
