  2. Hey Bud! Let me help... Two things. The flight scope are pure estimation! if you know what that machine does you can manipulate some of the data that are being reflected. Secondly, nothing tells you more than true outside driving range flight of the ball. Concerning your golf swing. I did not read any of the comments any of the other guys wrote, but i don't need to! Your goal here is distance increase and bit of accuracy! so i am going to try and explain this as simple as possible and if anything is not clear please send me a mail and i will help you as far as i can OK! Now the only way you can generate more club head speed for distance is to create more width in your swing. So you would need to work on flexibility to help you with that. and the easiest way to do this to take a towel and through it over your shoulder and and stretch your hands together so they touch behind your back and try to do this both ways! Then this improved flexibility will help you to create more speed! Then i think your hands are very low on the back swing so this is what happens. Imagine you take a perfectly round circle and hold it horizontally to the ground, imagine this is a copy of your swing ARC. you will notice that you only have one point that is square at your target. So your swing plane will only have a tiny point that is pointing at flag. Now if you take the same circle and flip it vertically you will see that the plane is on target the whole time and the club pointing to the flag all the time, which is great for your accuracy. So if you understand what i am trying to say is that i think you should get your hands higher on your back swing. This will free you up and get the club better on plane and if your get to work on that flexibility you will be on your way to more accurate and longer tee shots. Regards Steve
  3. Hi everyone, Since golf has been introduced in the OLYMPICS again you will not find (or should not) any professional players using substances like these. The bans are real bad and could be severe for your career. Then again for some players the break away will be the best thing for then right?
  4. You only realize the benefits of a caddy when you have one that's won you tournaments! Kevin's caddie needs a sharp shoe up the butt!!! Steve
  5. HI there, Kevin's Caddie needs the boot! I have been playing professional tournaments for 13 years and that was the showing of a true CARRY and not a CADDIE! that guys should not be allowed to carry a bag! Steve
  6. Hi There, Tiger is on the right track back! I think he will have a good chance! it must be concerning that he is playing poorly and almost still winning! Steve
  7. I agree, Rory has lots to be happy about! You would love people to tell you you screwed yourself and earn half what he does!!!! You could only be so tough on him if you never had even the slightest opportunity to face one of those rounds! Steve
  8. Hi there, Let me tell you something about winning tournaments, I dont know if you ever had the priviladge to be in a position to win even a weekday club competition? Winning is a habit as is losing! Your right, Tiger did put a statement on closing out tournaments. Now in the case of Rory, him being able to get himself into positions to win such big events so early in his career is exactly why so many people say he is just young still! The guys he is competing against are guys that have been playing for years and know what to expect when they get into a position to win! Rory needs to make mistakes and these high numbers in the last round to understand what your body goes through, NOT JUST THE MIND! his mind is strong enough because he has won before.... But strange things happen when adrenalin takes toll of the body, and it does not matter how clear you think, its the physical things you go through that causes mishaps! I shot 29 (-7) on the last 9 in the 2007 Zambia Open to defend the tournament and win again, bacause i knew what my body was going to go through and then having a positive mind (Like Rory has) helped me to win again. It is very difficult to explain what happens to a professional player during a tournament, the best you can do is to keep supporting these top players and learn how they get through the hard times! I promise they dont even hear or care what amateur players think or say, They know how to play and make millions doing it wrong then! Steve.
  9. Hey! No problem! I am glad i can help! I make a living from this and its my need to know this, to share it with you guys is a pleasure! Steve
  10. Hi There, I hit my first ball at the age of 17, never played a single round of amateur golf and turned pro at 19! I have been playing professional golf for past 13 years and won 5 tournaments! It is very possible. a very good friend of mine Aders Hanson only started playing at 32 and he is currently in the top 50 in the world. You get the clubs you like, and if you have the heart and the arrogance to not let any one tell you you cant don it, you will be well on your way! Regards Steve
  11. Please read my answer to this!
  12. Hello, I'm a professional player, and if you understand what a combination of loft, shaft flex and and club head speed can do to ball flight you might want to consider that hitting a 3 wood that far is actually possible but, however the consistency of that distance might vary dramatically! I see often on tour guys that hit metal 3 woods outrageous distances, but remember its shorter than a driver and has more loft! so if the shaft flex assists in generating more club head speed than the flex in your driver, you Will end up with a situation where you have two clubs in your bag that goes the same distance.... Again its not super human, its a bad Shaft, loft and flex combination! Regards, Steve
  13. Hi There, Here is a opinion from someone who has played this game for a living for 13 years... I read all the comments from some of the other guys regarding your post. Now I make a living playing this game and knowing the game and equipment is part of my trade. There is a miss perception that a Regular flex is too soft for you and a stiff shaft is always the answer! Let me explain to you something quick, and hopefully everyone else will read this. It is true that flex of a shaft will affect the flight of the ball and that is why some players need a slightly stiffer flex to help "square" the club up at impact. That's what a shaft does! It assists the player to SQUARE the club at impact. Now if a shaft is too soft for you the flight of the ball will tend to go more right to left, the stiffer a shaft the harder you will have to swing it to get the shaft to SQUARE the club,so the more the ball will tend to fly to the right if you cant swing it fast enough. IT IS ALSO A REASON WHY SOME HIGHER HANDICAPPED PLAYERS FADE THE BALL EVEN MORE WITH A STIFFER SHAFT!!! Anyway, now think of this, if the shaft is too soft for you the ball will tend to DRAW more! so if your 3 wood is a strong loft of about 13 degrees and the shaft causes a draw flight, you will end up hitting it further than most guys hit a driver! It does not make you super human but i can be very inconsistent in flight and distance! Getting a stiffer shaft will maybe promote a slightly lower flight and less distance but it can be more consistent. Using a 1 iron is fun sometimes, however the carry through the air is not always as far as a metal wood might be. So even though you get lots of roll and distance from it, a lofted metal wood might be more consistent and it seems like that is what you need more than distance! Please feel free to ask me anything else you want to know and it wont cost you a cent!! Besides it is nice to have a few extra spare "miles per hour" in the tank!!!! Have fun, and remember sometimes your equipment restricts your ability! Regards, Steve
  14. Hi There, You will see over the next few years that these numbers will grow even more and the Quality of players will be even better! To answer your Question... Gary has a " school of excellence" in Fourways in Johannesburg, that teaches his ways and means of the game and spends time there himself to oversee the Quality of the tuition. Ernie has his golf school at Fancourt in George of which LOUIS and CHARL are prodigies, Ernie often hosts clinics there himself too. Ernie also started a BIG EASY TOUR, as a mini tour for our country! Golf here has developed so much and are growing at such a pace that we need a mini tour to keep everybody playing and developing correctly. Further we have some of the best coaches in the world, we have guys like Gavin Levinson, a Europen tour winner. We have Dale Hayes, a European order of Merritt winner, all promoting the game all the time and they are all very approachable people. When i won the Zambia Open two years running, i got phone calls from Gary Player cheering me on and offering support where possible! We have a very healthy golfing family in South Africa, and I agree, Plenty more can still be done to further improve the game here. We must realize though, as much as Ernie, Retief, Charl, Gary, Louis, Rory and Tim want to do for golf in South Africa they still have playing careers to keep in shape themselves. They are our idols, and they know where they are from.
  15. Hi there! Ag you know our golf pro will do anything to get AWAY from the course hey! Just joking! Yes thank you! i will be fine at end of the year to play again! Keep in touch ok! We have allot to be proud of at the moment! Steve
