Proposing a So Cal end-of-summer meet up (SEPT 24)
Ringworld replied to Shindig's topic in Member Outings & Meetups
Arrowood has gotten some really good reviews recently on Greenskeeper.org. $80/twosome at Costco online. Hope that helps. It may be a little bit of a drive for me so I may have to pass on Arrowood. Keep me in mind for future events though. And you really need to know that :D -

Golf is a stupid game. You're using equipment ill suited to hit the ball consistently any distance. It was created by the Scots for goodness sake. If there wasn't a bunch of doom ridden folks on the face of the earth, they would be called the Scots. Think of it as their way of getting back at the rest of the world. As for thinking golf is too difficult. It is. It doesn't have to be. Get over it. BUT it is also rewarding. The thing is you want to really want to play golf. You can't force yourself to play golf. It is a game after all and forcing yourself to play a game won't give you the results you're after. Don't worry about golf though, it will still be here when you decide to dust off those clubs again and give it another go.

Vegetarian/Vegan Beef Crumbles as a filler
Ringworld replied to Gator Hazard's topic in Fitness and Exercise
Eat smaller portions. If you must snack eat vegetables and fruit. Don't eat past 6PM. No late night snacks. Water is a better beverage. Eat a reasonable breakfast. No starches. Proteins a good thing. But lay off the fatty foods like..... bacon :( -

Cool so the details October 11 at 9:10 starting at Eagle Glen? Cool oh so cool! Been meaning to stop by that golf course. Perhaps a bite to eat afterwards? Although I suspect I may have to visit several golf courses in that area and schlep my shiny new GK Plays :D Product- 117 replies

know the rules. it could have been argued that Lee misheard. It could also be argued that Hull gave consent. Shame on the captain and Lee and the rules official for not knowing all the rules.

If you are considering Tukwet Golf Moose has a twosome deal for $82 with free replay found it through Greenskeeper.org as well . also valid until end of year. Since we know who is coming one person buys the other one pays the buyer. I suppose that could work out. http://www.greenskeeper.org/golf_courses/allspecials.cfm- 117 replies

how about Temecula Creek or Dos Lagos or Canyon Lake or even Vellano (another GolfMoose coupon.) Get it through Greenskeeper.org http://www.greenskeeper.org/golf_courses/allspecials.cfm I heard Vellano is really nice too although I don't know where it is. Suppose I should look that up :D NM Chino Hills should make that pretty close to everyone in SoCal... I think and it would be different.- 117 replies

I didn't know that... hence the reason I was unable to log into the forums. Hello everyone again. So you guys planning on playing Oak Valley oct 11? I need to check if I can so is there space still available? Please advise.- 117 replies

TST SoCal 2014 Fall Outing December 7th Empire Lakes
Ringworld replied to tristanhilton85's topic in Member Outings & Meetups
Oh BTW I am happy to announce GK Tee Times which is a group sell through. I think I can hook us up for larger groups using my contacts there and get really good rates. The only catch would be you would have to join GK and write a golf course review. But then if you're not interested that is fine as well. -

I would be interested.. heck... anything golf related I would be interested :D -
I have always viewed pace of play issues like a traffic jam. Put too many cars on the highway or in the case of golf, golfers, just one slowdown anywhere on the golf course will cause a systemic shut down of the golf course. A lot of it can be attributed to the golf course that tends to stick too many tee times close together so that groups are not spaced evenly apart to promote faster play. But ultimately it's the golfer and their attitude. In other words, we (golfers) are to blame. Just like a lot of others before me said there are any number of ways to speed play, but it only takes one individual in the group that feels above all others that will put the pace of play to a crawl. What do you guys think?

Playing Golf with Someone Carrying a Weapon
Ringworld replied to boogielicious's topic in The Grill Room
I find it odd that currently a majority (albeit slight) would actually play golf with someone that flashes their gun. Loaded or unloaded it makes no difference. You always assume it's loaded for safety. The thing I find odd though is that if the situation were the same but at a different location, say a shopping mall, would you think the same thing? How could you feel safe with a total stranger that flashes their gun at a golf course or someplace else? My point is this, a gun escalates the situation, much like any weapon would especially if the need really doesn't call for it. Safe or not safe the situation would set off all sort of danger signals. If your supposed playing partner had a gun and you didn't would you feel safer because he had a gun and you didn't? Or does that mean you both have to be carrying in order to feel safe? Somehow the logic escapes me. Now before you send me up in flames..... honestly how would that be any safer than crossing the street? Or worse still, would you allow you child to play golf with a stranger brandishing a gun? Maybe golf hunting for golf balls? But won't that affect the pace of play? (I am being sarcastic here.) -
PING - Tell Me About your Pings

Still play with Ping Eye2s. I did reshaft them. Mileage will vary but you could try a newer set of pings just to compare feel to your old clubs. -

So then it's OK to carry a handgun so long as I don't ask and you don't tell?
