  1. I play by myself all the time, especially the 9 hole course that I frequent, Mosholu in the Bronx. 18 is a lot to play alone, but I will do that pretty often as well, but honestly I would rather play 18 with a friend. I would rather play alone than be paired with strangers. And as already mentioned, playing alone really lets you focus on your shots and the game in general, whereas playing with friends more often than not revolves around socializing. I play so much better alone as well!
  2. My name is Andrew, I'm from Astoria, NY (that's Queens!). Played golf a bit while in high-school, coming back to the game the last couple of years. I look forward to interacting with the members of this board!
  3. Just got my SG4 today. I will let you know how it goes, probably will take it out for a run this Saturday or on Monday!
  4. I WISH I could hit my PW like you guys. PW 90-100yds 52° 75-80yds 56° & 60° everything else
  5. Callaway X 2H, 18° Still learning to hit this club, I want to be good with it SO BAD. I'm still getting used to the weight of it, the look of it and the stance I have to take with it. It's weird to be because it's heavy as an iron, it looks like a fairway wood (sorta) and it's in between lengths of the two... When I tee off with it, should I go off the deck or tee-up low?
  6. Four wedges here as well. Ping ISI-K PW 47° Titleist Vokey Oil-Can 52° Titleist Vokey Oil-Can Spin Milled 56° Titleist Vokey Oil-Can Spin Milled 60° I recently dumped my 3I (which I hit like crap, hurts my hands) and also dropped the 5W and replaced them with the 52° and an 18° hybrid. Like someone already mentioned, I like to have options around the green, I feel like you can't have too many. My ISI-K PW is for full swings, 90-100 yards, and the others are for everything else inside 100 yards.
  7. I play Maxfli Noodles and Callaway Big Berthas. They're cheap and they work for me. I'm not good enough to get anything outta Pro V1's or Vx's
  8. I play Ping ISI-K's 4-PW. Removed my 3I and 5W from the bag, got a Callaway 18° hybrid and an extra wedge, 52°. I know the Pings are old, and there is new technology out there, but irons have not come as long a way as say drivers and balls, or even shoes for that matter, and if you find something that you like, I say stick with it! Before these I had Tommy Armour 845's (oversized) and they were pretty great too. I've been fortunate in the iron department, not a whole lotta trial and error for me...
  9. I prefer a line through the side logo as my "mark" rather than some scribbled initials. I will try and use different color sharpies to do this, so my ball stands out from the others, and it definitely helps me get putts closer to the cup. they don't go in though. that snap-on cap that comes with the sharpie is MONEY, perfect thick line EVERY TIME.
  10. I prefer Tiger, simply because I've been exposed to him so much more. Both these guys are game-changing fellows, they really transcend the game of golf and are amazing in their own ways.
  11. I don't really have a home course, I actually have a few. The one I play most is at Marine Park http://www.marineparkgolf.com Their website is "Coming Soon" The other courses I play can be seen at http://www.golfnyc.com Douglaston and Van Cortlandt are my favorites!
  12. When I'm not playing golf I work for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. That's all I can tell you! My name is Andrew. I'm glad to be here!
