I was at the golf range today. There were two older men hitting to the right of me (facing the range). I was addressed to hit a shot when I hear an aerosol sound. I figure its one of those water spray cans (it was bloody hot) and that one of the guys was spraying his face. All of a sudden I feel like a cockroach under RAID attack. I look up and the moron is spraying WD-40 on his clubs in FRONT of a fan they have set up! I approach him frikking steamed asking him to stop and asking him to be more considerate. He apologizes, then proceeds to move BEHIND the fan and continue. DOH! Where are these people from. Sorry I am just pissed after inhaling a quarter can of WD-40. What other stories do you have of people with single digit IQ's and no common sense on the range at the course etc...

I should have posted this under the playgrounds forum. Help admins! -
Good divot start point = Pro contact
gotgolf? replied to gotgolf?'s topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Thanks for the replies. At the range yesterday instead of worrying about my divot I worried about fine tuning the other parts of my swing (grip, shoulder tilt, spine angle etc) and it seemed that automatically set me up for a nice divot. -

and "funnel" greens, which if you get your ball on green the elevation will suck the ball into the cup. The Ananti CC is located in North Korea near Kum-Kang Mountain and they are open for membership from 8/15 and on. They are also holding an open house for people interested in "test driving" their course. Oh and the par 7 is the longest in the world at 1014 yards. I will try to find some pics to put up - not even sure if they are available. You can call: 82(country code) - 2 - 553 - 5564. I am pretty sure you will have to speak in Korean though. I considered using this opportunity to visit North Korea (it is closed off from non-Communist countries, I think the only airline that flies into North Korea is China Airline) but my friend went on a cruise tour (this is the only other way into North Korea, I'm sure they need the money) and he said the first day he got massive food poisoning and was on the toilet for a week. Anyways here are some pics (none of the par 7 yet)

Why I hate oversize drivers...
gotgolf? replied to boodaboy16's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Love the 983k - especially with the NV 75s. To stay on topic, I would say that the 983k is in the perfect size range (I think it is around 350cc?). Big enough to have a deep enough and wide enough face, but not too big that you can look into the club face and see your whole face in the reflection. I am hoping that the 907D2 will impress me as much (have only tested it in the UST v2 S, which I found way too "boardy"), but will be more than glad to stick with my 983k. -

I agree with you. 1. To start the sound of high MOI drivers drives me nuts. They sound tinnier and hollower than their less bloated counterparts. 2. I have found that I get less confident when looking over the goofy "balloon" as you put it. For me there is a tendency to get lax with address/alignment. 3. I do get sloppier with my swing. This could be due to 2. This being said I am trying the 907D2 as well. Since its not the biggest of the brutes I will be willing to make adjustments to my swing and focus. -
Anyone on this site play squash? I got into it my sophomore year of high school and have been pretty serious on off ever since. I joined a league team this past spring season and our team won the championship - won a stein with a naked lady handle. Which reminds me, I still have to pick it up because we got the members names engraved on it...

Honestly one of the best threads to read when you are feeling a bit under the weather. Read a couple of posts and I'm refreshed!

Good divot start point = Pro contact

There was a lesson online about divots and their position. I just figured tha since I do take a divot on some shots, I could use this lesson to work my mechanics towards pushing my divot forward and getting cleaner contact. -
wow that is trouble waiting to happen. I def don't have the courage to swing like that inside my house.

For people who prefer to tee up their drives high, where in your stance do you position the ball? I think most position their drives on the inside of their left foot but if you position your ball further ahead/left in your stance your swing will have gotten higher at that point.

haha bolt on tits. I vote for Anna here as well. I guess it depends if you are are a face/bust/hips/legs guy. I am a face guy, but even if I weren't I still wouldn't see why people find Gulbis so hot. She is OK.

Yeah stumbles across that site during my search for pictures. Would be nice to have a collection from all over though. Nice site though

Have you seen the Seinfeld episode "The Jimmy?" Not sure if that is what the episode is called. The guy refers to himself as Jimmy. Jimmy: "You know...Jimmy is pretty sweet on you." Elaine: "Aaaaaahhh! He is?!" Jimmy: "Oh yeah!. Jimmy's been watching you....you're just Jimmy's type." Elaine: "AAaaaaahhh! Really?"(giggles) Jimmy: "Jimmy's new in town. Jimmy hem ..doesn't really know anyone." Elaine: "Oh! well I'd like, like to get to know him." Jimmy: "Jimmy would like to get to know you." Elaine: "Ha...." makes for a hilarious premise

My fiancee, who recently picked up golf, sometimes swings and completely misses. Since I know her well I can always tell when she does this. I told her to just pretend that she was taking a practice swing. No one will know the better. And maybe to put on some more make up to hide her blushing face when she does. hehe

First of all... GO YANKEES! I have been brainwashed since day 1 to root for the Yankees by my father. No complaints though Even thought Bonds is juiced up you have to admit he does have a great swing and great athletic talent. Too bad to see his record degraded by the fact that he has taken steroids (although totally justified). It just shows how much these already great athletes feel the pressure to compromise their professional integrity by trying to gain a competitive edge over their peers pretty much through any means. Shame shame. Hope we do not see too much of this in golf. Uproot them while they are young!

I remember reading a while back either on golf.com or golftipsmag.com a lesson (can't remember under what category) discussing divots, their starting point and their relation to where you address/tee up the ball. I was hoping to work on the start point of my divot recently (my divot usually starts a bit behind the ball - of course there are shots where I do not take a divot at all) but cannot find the same lesson I was looking for. Does anyone remember seeing this lesson? Also does anyone have good pointers on taking an ideal divot (starting AT the ball and not behind). I envy Tiger's ability to rip up the field, but even smaller "LPGA" divots will keep me happy.
