  3. That assumes that you are actually 6'2"...
  4. False. It is absolutely worthless to you. It is absolutely worth something to him.
  5. I like that you did what you like. Not too sure why everyone here is so damn worried about what he could have sold it for.
  6. Absolutely yes. I use a Redwood, and frankly it is the best putter I've ever used. Better than the Scotty Camerons, and with much better feel than normal Ansers. I got mine used for about $200 (with new grip), but I would be more than happy to pay $250 for a new one in the future.
  7. I like to rap when I play. It calms me down.
  8. Ummm...I don't know about other people, but there seems like there is a bit more to this technique than the solvent method. For solvent it is easy. (1) Grip tape on (2) Fold in top (3) Put solvent in grip (4) Cover entire grip (5) Slide on When you do step 4 right, making sure to cover the bottom and top (those were the only points where I ever had problems), step 5 is a sinch. The solvent method is easy, and the "cleanup" is minimal. I just taped a garbage bag to the work bench, and whenever I was wetting the grip tape I just pulled it out so the solvent would drip into the bag and not onto the floor. No muss, no fuss.

    Eagles?

I nutted a wedge on a par 4 yesterday, had a ball go down in the cup yesterday, then pop back out for a 4 inch "putt". So close!!
  10. Assuming you didn't steal what's in your bag, you know that you pay for quality. Why are you so interested in getting something "cheap" when dropping $300 on a Leupold or Bushnell rangefinder would probably better serve you (and still be on par with what you spent on your driver, putter, or iron set). But to answer your question, there aren't huge fundamental differences in most rangefinders. In the more expensive products, you are probably going to see better lenses, which probably won't be noticeable, and more advanced software. Assuming each rangefinder can burst and resolve a laser pulse in a time period on the same order of magnitude of the clock cycle, they will be equally accurate in calculating distance. Whether or not it is the distance you are looking for is another question (i.e. pinseeker mode).
  11. 89. Shot a 39 on the front, and a 50 on the back. Two quadruples and a triple killed me, but two birdies were my saving grace. Almost dropped one of those in for an eagle too.
  12. I guess Bridgestone is going to be making bank for that week...
  13. I'm reasonably certain that you need to stay at Horseshoe Bay or Barton Creek if you want to play there. With that said, these are the courses you want to take a look at: Avery Ranch (quality course for the money) Shadow Glen (most underrated course in Austin, and the one I would suggest you play) Wolfdancer (pricey track down in Bastrop, but a lot of fun to play) Crystal Falls (cheap, great course) The munis are good, but that might not be your thing. Also, ColoVista closed down a while back (fyi).
  14. (1) Grip preferences are just that: preferences. Some people like cord, some people don't. Some people like wraps, some people don't. Some people like black, some people don't. It's up to you to go to the golf store and figure out what you want. (2) There is no difference between the grips on irons and drivers. You may prefer to have different grips, but there isn't a "special" driver grip or a "special" iron grip. (3) The difference between grip sizes is the thickness of the grip. In other words, a midsize grip will be thicker in your hands than a standard grip, and is aimed at golfers with larger hands. Hopefully that helps.
  15. I never take a full swing with mine. As a tall guy, doing this gets me all unlevel and I tend to blade and chunk the shot. A solid 3/4 swing works every time. Well, most of the time .
  16. I know that Odyssey has some nifty looking headcovers, so you could take a look at that if you're so inclined.
  17. 101. Hit the ball well, too well in fact. A lot of my irons were well struck, but flew the green. Seven or eight three putts really hurt. I'm feeling good about my swing, though.
  18. Playing a "cheap" ball is fine. I would suggest the Mojo (suggested above), the upper end Top Flite balls (D2), and the Wilson 50/50. I've played all of those balls over the years and they are excellent.
  19. Come to Texas. There are plenty of people that would be willing to pay your green fee.
  20. I got the Tour Wrap Cords for this very reason .
  21. Get the basketball announcers to do it...
  22. I was planning on regripping, but first I wanted to tap the collective wisdom of this board and get answers to a couple of questions I had. First, is it possible to put .58 grips on .60 shafts? I'm pretty certain that my irons are .58, but not so sure about the other clubs. From what I read, it seems somewhat routine, but I just wanted to make sure. Second, how fearful should I be of regripping clubs with graphite shafts? My main concerns are scratching or overtightning (and cracking) the shaft when I have it in the vise (I bought the rubber thing). Thanks.
  23. Bingo bango bongo. Pace and general not-be-a-dick etiquette are the only things I care about. What you shoot, or what rules you play with, are all of your business and none of mine.
