  1. I've heard that man amateurs chunk the ball (hit the ground behind the ball) more often than not. I tend to do the same every few shots. What are amateurs doing different and how does one overcome it? W
  2. Thanks! What about Justin Hicks from Stadium Golf?
  3. Anyone know of any good SD golf instructors? I'm looking for some reviews on local golf instructors before I make a decision. Thanks W
  4. that reminds me of a story, i bought two Ball Park hot dogs one time, and as I walked away, i noticed one was slightly lighter than the other. I opened up the wrapping and saw that one was a little more plump than the other. I then ate them both. They were delicious!!! (just kidding. I don't even like hot dogs)
  5. check out the Doubletree Golf Resort in Carmel Mountain. Just a little north of SD. Its decent

  7. can someone break it down for me, stiff shafts vs regular shafts. i'm in my 20's and i know stiff shafts are typically for older players. but, i have a opportunity to buy a 3w for a very good price, but its a stiff shaft, yay or nay? w

  10. i've only been playing golf now for about a little less than a year now and i feel that i'm picking it up well. my trouble and frustration right now is consistency with ball striking. when i'm out at the range, i always tend to have great sessions but when i hit the course, it all goes down hill. i'll hack at the ball, chunk the ball, and top the ball more so than not. any advice? i know i need more practice but as of now, its totally frustrating!!
  11. thanks!!! much better!! =)

  15. thanks for everyone's advice. i figured out that my club face is slightly closed upon impact. thats why it hooks left.
  16. for a beginning golfer, which LW will better suit me, low, standard or high bounce LW clubs. I was thinking of getting a cleveland wedge but didn't know which bounce rating would better suit me.
  17. i figured it out. the club head i slightly closed upon impact. I will readjust my grip and i should be good! Thanks ALL
  18. i'm right handed, so it flies from right to left.
  19. i tend to hook the ball, especially off the tee. Any thoughts and advice? I hook more than I slice. I'm thinking it has to do with my down-swing and follow through? Any tips?
  20. ANNA.... ANNA...... ANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats all i gotta say about that!!
  21. I would still consider myself a beginner but I've been told by a bunch of other seasoned golfers that my swing and my play is pretty good for only playing about 5 months. I took a golf class at a local community college. The class was considered a P.E class and we met only once a week for the length of the semester. The class had all types of people in it, college kids, young adults and older adults. The majority of the students were all beginners but there were a few that already knew how to play but wanted to take the class to brush up on their fundamentals. I learned soooo much in such a short period of time. I think i did it right because I started out with the basic fundamentals, rather than teach myselft on the range with just a driver in my hand trying to kill the ball. Coach took his time to teach us the importance of all iron shots versus driving the ball. The majority of the game is with irons, wedges and putters anyway. I was taught that its better to drive the ball a shorter distance and get up the green with solid chips and 2 putt your way to victory versus driving the ball close to the pin and putting your way towards double or triple bogey. Luckily for me, i've always picked up sports very fast but a lot of that also has to do with focus, patience and determination. I reccommend all beginners to consider taking a golf class. Community colleges are a lot cheaper than taking other classes.
  22. i asked that same question one time, and a bunch of people told me..... "colored balls are only for girls".
  23. I would try to move the ball location a little more towards your leading foot to help with launching the ball... thats what i do.
  24. I am a new golfer and I wanted to know the specific differences between golf ball numbers, 1-4.
  25. i have an ogio grom stand bag and its awesome, no complaints. I live the walk my courses and the bag has never given me any "headaches". although, i've seen ogio's new bag system, the "schling", its awesome. only a few new models have that carry system, but if you get a chance to try one out, its really comfortable and convenient.
