Having a decent GPA in community college will help a lot. It will show whoever makes the academic decision about you at whatever college you apply to that you are able to make decent grades in a college environment.

We had a 5 hour round on Saturday, but it was entirely because of us, not the people ahead of us. In my foursome was one guy who was on the course for his first time, and another who has only been playing for 2 weeks, and then myself and another who has played off and on for a few years. Although we were slow, we didn't hold anyone else up. We had others come up behind us twice, and when they caught up enough that they were waiting on us, we let them play through.

I always ground the club, it's part of my address of the ball. I set the club in position with my right hand, set my feet, then bring in the left hand, make sure my feet are still set how I want them and my grip is good, and then start my backswing.

My step-brother played a yellowball last time I played with him. I don't remember who made them, just that they were cheap. Like $9 for 15. Top Flite maybe? It was his 2nd time ever being on the course, so he wasn't concerned about the performance of the ball. They were definitely easy to find, and we always knew which one was his.

My local community college offers a golf class too. I think I'm going to take it sometime soon. The class is held at a course just up the road from my office, and is taught by the course pro.

All the courses around here that I've played have at least a few coolers here and there. They are always locked in a box though. Usually they are good and cold too, so I think the maintenance guys do a good job of maintaining them.
