Shot a 42 today although my score doesn't reflect how badly I was playing. I started off with a bogey on the first which is a par five which I SHOULD be getting on in 2 every time. Then I doubled the second. It pretty much went like that the rest of the day. My only highlight was reaching the green in 2 on a long par five (something like 540) by bombing my drive and killing my 3 wood. I ended up three putting for a par .

What if you had every scorecard from every round you've ever golfed?
Hogan Incarnate replied to GITrDONE's topic in Golf Talk
I keep the scores in which I won (or tournaments) but other than that, I throw them away and post my scores in the computer. Its easy and it saves time. -
best golf courses played
Hogan Incarnate replied to Rezgolf's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Yes, it was challenging but also breathtaking. On some holes, it looked like the green was floating on the edge of the world but when you got there, it was a sheer drop off into the ocean. Didn't shoot very well there, though (as was to be expected) and I shot a 93. Oh, and I have a course where I live (the new course at Promentory) thats 8,000+. The first hole is a 724 par 5 and the tenth is a 562 par 4. Now thats insane. -
First Day of Tryouts and... I shot a 41 today which I would normally not be happy with but today, its OK. Especially considering that everyone there didn't play very well and I was the fourth lowest score... On the first hole (par 4)I started out with a double bogie, pushing my drive behind a tree which I proceeded to knock out of the trees. Then I had a 150 yard shot that I hit into the bunker. Out from there and a two putt equals a 6 and a double bogie . Second hole (par 4) I killed my hybrid and went into the trees 50 yards short of the green (I joked with my playing partners that if I'd hit driver, I would have been OB). I punched out, chipped and two putted for a bogie. Not a very good start. 3 over after two. Third hole (par 4) I hit 3w to 90, hit a 3/4 quarter 56 that left me 75 feet short but on the green. I read the putt, stepped over the ball and gave it a good whack. And it went in. 2 over after 3. Fourth hole (par 3) I hit a seven iron that just came up short of the green but was puttable. I hit that but it went too far and I knocked in my four footer for par. Fifth hole (par 4) I nailed driver but blew it past the fairway, landing in the rough. I hit a 9 iron which came up short but managed to get up and down from there. Another par. Sixth hole (par 4) I hit a 3w that was 115 yards out and then played a low shot that cheated the howling wind with my PW. 15 feet for birdy but I missed it but tapped in the par put. Seventh hole (par 5) I went with a driver on this narrow hole and hit it dead straight and had a hybrid in. Hit it solid but some how it came up 50 yards short. I played a nice little 60 that was pin high but 20 feet out. I really don't know how I managed to blow that putt ten feet past but I did and ended up making bogie. Eighth hole (par 3) One bitch of a hole. I had to take a hybrid on this 230 yarder and still came up short. Chipped it way past and two putted for a bogie. Ninth hole (par 5) Played driver and sliced the hell out of it. I was forced to play a provisional with I again sliced it in the same shot. Luckily I was alright with my first one but was behind a tree. I hit out and had 145 in. 9 iron to twenty feet and what do you know? I three putt it. 5 over= 41. Sam: 52 Not a good round for him Jack: 48 Same as above Brian:43 Average for him since he tripled the hole I birdied. No tryout for tomorrow but on Wednesday they resume.

Just a quick update before I hit the hay. T-Minus Eight Hours And 56 Minutes Before Tryouts I hit the putting green tonight for about an hour and was putting average (mostly two putts with some ones scattered in there). But the thing that I was most proud of is that I only had two three putts. No chipping, only putting. Now that I think about it, I think that right now is the time to set goals. Ok, for the first round I want to be at about 39. I also want to hit 6 out of 9 (yes, I know, we do only play nine holes tryouts) greens in regulation. I want to have about 18 putts. Oh, and I want to hit all the fairways. I think that all. Time to hit the sack...

1) Torrey Pine South 2) Glenwild 3) Promentory: The Ranch Club 4) Jeremy Ranch 5) Torrey Pines North -
Anyone played there? The South is the hardest damn course that I have ever played. But then again, it is hard to shoot a good round there will all the scenic backdrops, beautiful views of the ocean, and, when you have the imposing sign "Home of the 2008 U.S. Open" towering above you. I shot like a 90 there but god, it was awesome. The very next day I played the North course and it was tons less harder but tons less scenic. Still a great course. Shot a 42 there including a triple on the last hole ( ). Anyone else want to share their experiences with this course?

New PING G10 Series!
Hogan Incarnate replied to Arsenal Forever's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I Don't have the magical power needed to access this website (not a member) but I have seen these new Irons in the newest edition of Golf Digest. They look sexy! -
Shitty today. 41. Wrist started bothering me on the seventh hole and was a dull ache after that. But there were so many strokes that I could have shaved. Had three bad chips that I failed to get up and down. Had to take an unplayable on 6 so ya.

Tee up the ball step away and bunch up sleeves at shoulders to make sure that my manly man muscles are showing Raise the club that I'm hitting, find a target in the distance and find a spot near my ball that corresponds with that target (this lets me see wither or not I hit the ball where I wanted to or not) Hit the club twice on the ground Check and recheck my grip to make sure that it's right Step to the tee Hit a long, straight ball that blazes down the fairway, landing softly 290 yards out. Repeat Looks quite long here but actually takes no time at all on the course. Its become a habitual thing with me.

Hi and welcome. As you can see, I'm fairly new to the forum myself but not to the game of golf. If you need any questions answered, fell free to send me a pm. Cheers!

Ah, its that time of month again. The beginning of August. The weather is taking a turn for the worst, my mom birthday is coming up, and the Junior Club Championship. But there is one more event that has yet to be decided upon. Yes, that right. A new year, a new golf season! Ok, so I was on the team last year and played in both JV and Varsity event, contributing to the team in both leagues. But in the middle of the season, my coach changed my swing drastically and I was in a slump for the rest of the season. I'm hoping that the golf team coach remembers the good stuff, not the bad. And hopefully my teacher doesn't change anything else until the seasons over. For tryouts, we will play eight times at two different courses. The first four will be at Park City Municipal Golf Course, the next two will be at Jeremy Ranch Country Club and the finishing two will be returning to PCMGC. Each day (except for the first two) cuts will be made. There will be about 75 people trying out for 12 spots. T-Minus One Day Until The First Day Of Tryouts I went out for nine today at 6:30 today and shot a 41. There were easily five strokes that I could have done away with but what ever. I'm just trying to focus about tommorow. I went to church at nine and, ironically enough, the pastor talked about every little thing leads up to the one thing that will be rewarding. Oh, and he also mentioned golf a couple of times. I am planing to spend the rest of the day over at the course, hitting range ball, chipping, and putting with my good friend, Sam. I will also give you the scores that he, Brian (another close friend), and Jack (just a friend) made each and every day.

Well I hit both of these at my local store and didn't think that they had the same feel as the 60s. Maybe I was wrong. I'll go and hit them again next time I get a chance and get back to you. No, the 690's were just the ones that I hit and the ones that I liked. I have no problem hitting with old clubs just as long as they feel good to me. Take, for example, my FT-3. I frickin' love that club! My strengths are driving, putting, and mid to short iron shots. My longer irons could use some work though. I've been to Uinta more times that I can count . But there is a new store that is five minutes away instead of 30 and their prices are comparable.

Shot a 37 today (one over par) for nine holes. Don't want to make the wrist any worse than it already is.

Ok, I'll come right out and say this. I'm sick of my X-14s. So for next years golf season, I've decided to get new ones! Ok, so this is how its gonna work: I've narrowed my selection down to 5 choices. Choices marked with @ have been approved by my teacher. Titleist 690 CB I hit these irons today at my course and fired off a 37. Pretty damn good for the first time hitting a new set of irons. They have a nice, consistent feel that I love. @ Callaway X-Forged I've only hit the pitching wedge once but liked the overall feel to the club. These are the irons that my instructor hits and has been playing extremely well the past few days. @ (duh!) Titleist 735.CM I've only hit these at my local golf store but like the over all look and feel of them. Titleist 755 I've never actually hit these but I like the looks of them and have heard great things about their performance. Muzuno MP-60 I've played a few times with these irons and really like the feel of them. The only thing that is preventing me from buying them is that the trajectory is somewhat inconsistent making it harder for me to shape shots. @ So what do you think? Just remember that I am a 6.1 handicaper with a 110 mph swing speed.

I'm a 6.1er from Utah, going into my sophomore year. Tryouts are on monday and I'm starting to feel nervous... Anyways, I've won two tournaments this year alone and have placed in five. See ya around

Shot a 39 for nine holes today. Would of liked to play 18 but my wrist has been hurting lately and I don't want it too bad for tryouts. Anyways, I missed a seven footer for birdy on the last hole because my phone rang in the middle of my stroke and made me blow the putt by by several feet. Ended up three putting on that hole and yelling at the caller who screwed me over.

I had the same problem with my swing a couple years back. My instructor *decided* to change this right in the middle of my first High School golf season and, low and behold, I didn't play in another tournament for the rest of the season! The problem with rotating your hips is that it leads to incosistant ball striking. If your hips are behind, your club face will be open at impact and your ball will fly off to the right. If they get too out in front, the club face will be closed and the ball will trail to the left. At first it seems like you don't get enough power into your swing but trust me, you do. Its like swinging a baseball bat. You don't need you hips to be a dancing to hit a home run. After I switched my swing and got used to the feel of it it, my index went down from a 8 to a 6.1 (my current index).

Which putter do you use?
Hogan Incarnate replied to hypergolf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The 2002 edition of the New Port Beach Cameron works well for me. Just this year alone I have placed in five events including two wins. -
Which driver do you use?
Hogan Incarnate replied to hypergolf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I use a Callaway FT-3 Fusion with Adila NVS stiff shaft. Oh and a Draw Bias. I have had a Nicket in the past but in my modest oppinion, they are not a good driver maker. I thought about updating to a FT-5 but they were too expencive for a 15 year old. -
Ben Hogan himself.
