  1. I think the key is speed of play rather than handicap index. My two playing partners are significantly better players than me, although I am improving. When we started to play together I was very self conscious about playing slower - especially when I was in the trees!! Helped to straighten out my driver. Thanks to the stack and tilt!
  2. Dan, I saw this article and tried the technique several rounds before the snow came here in North Dakota. My technique was to bounce the putter 2-3 times and then stroke. Could you describe your technique? Thanks.
  3. My primary goal was to break 90 and I accomplished this a number of times. Also brought down my average score and handicap and had my first eagle. All in all a good year.
  4. Lost the headcover for my Cobra Rail 2H. Looking for recommendations as to where to buy either stock replacement or nonmatching headcover.
  5. How do you change photo on your list. When I added photo of my putter it replaced driver which I wanted to use for the list photo
  6. Replaced my Callaway 460X this fall with a Cobra S2 and just love it.
  7. Love the recent discussion, reviews, wikis at the bottom of the page.

    I did it!!!!!

Congratulations. Great accomplishment. Course management goes along way to breaking even 90. As you noted, a good short game also helps
  9. My profile includes photo of My Course, but it does not show up on signature. What did I likely do wrong?
  10. Thanks for the update. Lots of new features which one just needs to become accustomed to.
  11. You will love this book if you enjoy golf history. Focus is on the 1960 US Open. Palmer came from way behind to win. Before getting into the tournament, the book discusses tournaments leading up to the Open and also gives some history of the Open. Has biographical information on golfers who were on the leaderboard. Nicklaus was still an amateur and playing with Hogan. Played well, but sounds like intimidated by the Hawk who I think hit every green in regulation, but had trouble putting. There is an epilogue discussing the rest of the careers of many of the golfers. Some of the golfers discussed in addition to Hogan, Nicklaus, and Palmer are: Player, Casper, Littler, Boras, Mike Souchak (who I wasn't familiar with). It was fun and easy read. I don't know anything about the author. Just saw book in the new releases at the library. It was written some time ago, but this was new 50th Anniversary Edition.
  12. Just finished reading Golf's Greatest Championship The 1960 US Open by Julian Graubart. It was 50th Anniversary addition. Very enjoyable. Last round Nicklaus and Hogan were playing together. Palmer won the tournament. Great stories about each of the those golfers as well as many others.
  13. Just finished reading Golfer's Greatest Championship The 1960 US Open in which Tommy Bolt was asked who was greater - Jack or Ben Hogan. His response was that Hogan. In support of his opinion he noted that he has seen Nicklaus watch Ben practice, but had never seen Ben watch anyone, what does that tell you.
  14. By foot to roll do you mean your right foot rolling on the inside of foot?
  15. Geoff Mangum endorses the idea of bouncing putter on the ground as a trigger to your stroke. I have been playing around with this in my basement since golf season is over here in North Dakota. Anyone tried this and have any suggestions about implementation? I was really struggling with short putts and think I was freezing as I stared down at the ball. This might be a way to address this.
  16. Try a shoe repair shop. Golf buddy had hole in his leather bag and was very satisfied with work done at shoe repair shop.
  17. I am surprised to see the Upro Go down to $149. Seems like a fantastic deal given the features and no subscription. Anyone using this GPS or have insight as to why the drop in price?
  18. I see some Cobra clubs in your signiture. You might want to try the Baffler Rail 2H. It is 17 degrees and I hit it almost as far as by 3 wood and have alot more consistency.
  19. I was in a similar situation and pulled the 3 wood out of the bag. I am much more consistant with my 2 hybrid and there is not much difference in distance.
  20. Here is link for launch http://garmin.blogs.com/my_weblog/20...d-courses.html
  21. One of my golf partners always wears a watch. There is nobody who hits more fairways or has a better short game. I haven't golfed alot of rounds with a watch, but think it would be easy to get used to. The Garmin producst look good to me and I like the simplicity of the information you get from the S1. I am looking forward to hearing from people who have tried this.
  22. Not saying you need special club for stack and tilt. Simply wondering if one of the settings likely would be more effective since the stack tilt swing promotes a draw.
  23. Just pulled the trigger on the Cobra S2 driver with adjustable face angle. Any advice on what would be best setting for a stack and tilt swing or do I just need to try it out on each setting.
  24. Need some driver advice. TWG has a great deal on the Cobra S2 driver with regular shaft. I am currently hitting a Callaway x-460. Would this be much of an upgrade? Also, would I be better served by holding off and getting a driver fitting. My club pro fits Pings.
