  1. Mizuno F60 3 wood, bought yesterday and played today. Results, so far, are very good.
  2. I noticed the same thing, I even paused the clip when his club impacted teh ball. I thought I was seeing things. I do like his tempo, very smooth swing.
  3. Boston Terrier, aka the American Gentleman. These dogs are fantastic house dogs, very fun to have around. Here is Baxter:
  4. I would suggest Ping S58 irons.
  5. I just bought 2 dozen TP Black, they were on sale for 24.99 per at Pro Golf Discount. They seem to be a great ball for this sale price, I believe they are considered a premium ball and play similiar to a V1x. I don't know if TM is coming out with new '08 balls, but I may even go buy another box or two at these prices. Btw, I see you play the AD333, this is my gamer if I have to pay retail as I find it a great all around ball.
  6. When I hit one of my hybrids, I am not trying to shape a shot. I am trying to put the ball down the fairway, either off a tee or off the deck on par 5s and longer par 4s. Until I can consistently hit an iron as well and as easy, the 18 and 21 degree hybrid are staying in the bag.
  7. Thanks. I am curious as to how the new cover feels and holds up. For me, the old version was a great ball. I have used the e5 and even the occasional sleeve of B330, I liked it them, but I just have not ever had any luck with Bridgestone durability. They just seem to scuff very easy for me, maybe I should try them again as others have suggested them as well.
  8. Just as the title asked, has anyone tried the new version? I was a big fan of the old AD333 and it was my gamer until they became scarce in my area. I was thinking of trying the latest version but wanted to see if anyone had any experience first. Thanks.
  9. I just wanted to share my thoughts on my new Ping S58s which replaced my three year old G2s. Truth be told, I just wanted something different than the large cavity backs. My tour wedges are my favorite club, the S58model looked and felt the most similiar so I went with them. I consider myself an average ballstriker, my misses are usually hooks (I am right handed). Driver, course management and then maybe putting are my biggest challenge. I don't know if I was concentrating more on my swing or what, but I hit these every bit as good as my old G2s. I know this seems hard to believe, but I think anyone could play these. I have only played one round with them so far, and have spent several hours at the range, so it's early and things could very well change for the worst. By the way, I shot an 88 (best round ever an 83) on a course rating of 72 with a 130 slope. The flight of the ball was similiar, if anything somewhat higher and more of a draw. I was actually able to hit a fade or a draw several times and the feel was really nice. I had no more or less issues with my iron play, but I am not carrying the 2,3, and 4 irons and instead using hybrids for now. Anyway, just wanted to say these clubs are pretty forgiving for the smaller and thinner size. I don't think anyone should be intimidated to try them out. I hope to have these for another 3 years, hopefully I can keeop them in the bag.
  10. As a 15 myself, I find this tip to be very good. Typically, I find my bogeys to be more of a course management issue. I just can't help but go for it most of the time, unfortunately it usually puts me in a bad position. Anyway, congrats on the round $2. Btw, what was teh birdie on? I usually can only get them on a short par 3, sometimes (rarely) on a longer par 5.
  11. Strangest thing, I actually found a black nike ball on Saturday. The whole ball is black, not white. I have never seen anything like it, it doesn't appear to be painted (like the yellow range balls), but made this way purposely.
  12. Would this happen to be the same for a D1?
  13. BMW M3.
  14. Thanks for chiming in all, it's good to see I am not the only one and it isn't uncommon. I spent an hour after 18 holes working on this club, I am determined to make it work well for me. I just bought the new G10 3 wood and I would say the face is every bit as shallow as my old G2 5 wood, it very small for a three. The issue is my ability, my swing, and now my confidence with it. I wish I had teh opportunity to try out one of the Bobby Jones woods, thanks for the tip though. Yup, I was using the 18* Rapture today in place of the 3 wood with pretty good results. I guess it's my mentality about having the 3 wood and not being able to use it, yet. I am one of those more compulsive types that has to know I can use everything in my bag.
  15. Does anyone have any advise on what I can do to get the ball up in the air and down the fairway? I am hitting very low hooks off the grass (sometimes spinning left sharply), but teeing it up isn't an issue at all. Lately, I have been using my 18* hybrid because I have no faith in my ability with the 3 wood. I have been to the range and practiced off grass (no mat). I am getting frustrated, one in ten shots will be decent. Again, off the T is fine but off the grass things get ugly. Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.
  16. I used the play the Callaway HX Hot, decent feel and very very low spin.
  17. Today was crazy, t-shot from a short par three and I lifted up, topping the ball and hitting a shallow line-drive. The ball skipped twice off the water hazard and into the sand trap to the left of the green. My shot out of the bunker goes in the hole to birdie the hole! We couldn't believe it.
  18. Interesting, were you considering new irons before or were they a spur of the moment purchase (like my experience)?
  19. I bought the 18 and 21 degree, Ping-labeled graphite shaft in stiff flex. I was actually planning on buying the Titleist 585h or the new G10 hybrid but bought the Rapture on a whim after seeing the ball flight. I hit them so well this is almost like cheating, but I almost didn't even try them as they have a lot of game improvement offset and technology. I guess I need that stuff!
  20. Have any of you ever bought a club you had not even considered before hitting it, but hit it so well you had to buy it? I recently bought two Rapture hybrids after hitting them so well. Funny thing, I had never considered them and actually was hoping to buy something from another brand. I demoed several outside, but clearly (and unfortunately most expensive) the Raptures were best for me.
  21. I prefer Srixon AD-333, or Precept Laddie extreme. Of the choices on the poll, I would prolly go with the Callaway HX Hot.
  22. I have an approx 92-94 mph swing, more of a hitter than a smooth swinger. I recently went from an TM R7 10.5 to a Titleist D1 in 11.5. Brand differences aside, ball flight is not at all that much different to my eye, but the new driver sure is straighter and 10-15 yds longer for me. The straight part is the biggest difference, I can consistently put the ball on the fairway and in good play position. Best change I have made in a while. Good luck.
  23. I am on my third year with G2 irons, play roughly 50 times per year. The finish and grooves are in excellent condition, if anything, the finish gets somewhat more shinny with use. I wish they wore more, I need an excuse to buy a new set. I have seen some newer Ping irons where the badge has fallen off though.
