tried one out the other day.... i like my yes! putter much better honestly it didn't jump out as special.. I tried a cameron right after and that felt better. I'd rather play one of the regular white hot oddyseys
-
at your age and size, for irons you should without a doubt play steel shaft.... i'm going to be 16 next month and I'm considerably smaller than you but I play steel shafts. your distances will be that much more consistent and yeah definitely won't have to worry about snapping (even though that shouldn't happen much if at all with graphite shafts regardless) .. only people with bad joints or old people or women should even consider playing graphite
-
for irons, hit down on the ball, do NOT try to scoop them up and actually help them up in the air because it does the opposite. really trap the ball with your club and the ground and obviously try to make ball first contact
-
r7 tps that being said, i've never hit the titleist ones. the r7 tp's are nice, you're definitely going to be able to shape shots and the forgiveness is great. I have the regular r7's and they're sick (but I've obviously tried the tp's to be able to comment on them)

70% of the time i can get it to within 6-7ish feet from anywhere around the green including the fringe, greenside bunker, up to 5-10 yards out 20% i can get it to within 15 feet 5% i'm just somewhere on the green 5% i have to make another chip so... i would say it's pretty good.. it's definitely one of the more consistent parts of my game problem is i still can't make those 6-7 feet putts
-
really try a yes! tracy or callie they're both blades and they're awesome... the ball gets rolling RIGHT away pretty much and i love the feel of mine. try it
-
yeah that's probably 1. your hands are ahead of the ball, delofting the clubface 2. ball is too far back in your stance (closer to your right foot for a righty), causing #1 3. really flat swing plane my friend is just the opposite... he hits everything rediculously high... he drove a green with his 3-wood and it checked up within a couple feet..
-
I read his swing speed is around 120-125 and cranks it to 130-135 if he wants vs. people like Tony finau whose swing speed is apparently around 150

I am an absolutely terrible putter. Technically (stroke wise) I'm pretty decent but 1. I have absolutely no touch for distance and 2. I never align myself correctly ...(however I don't tend to push or pull many putts) I just 5-putted today and I must have had around 50 putts during my round today (worst of the last half year). So: any putting drills that you guys can share with me, particularly on distance control? btw: I just got a new yes! tracy putter

don't cut across it as much.. basically you're almost slicing it ? try to have a straighter swing path or even better in-out and obviously make sure your clubface isn't open at impact
-
I can't really back these up too much but I like -Anthony Kim -Camilo Villegas -Sergio Garcia -Justin Rose
-
not to hijack your thread.... but I'm also heavily considering reshafting my driver... I really want the aldila nv pink 65 one... any thoughts on that one?

i think pinnacle exceptions are pretty decent for the price..

I don't know how they feel or play but they're drop dead sexy

the switch: graphite to steel shafted irons
jcrew replied to itzzzberny's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
you should probably only be playing graphites if you have bad joints or something like that.. I just made the switch a month ago... an old set of graphite mizunos to steel shafted taylormade r7's... the control and consistency advantage i get was well worth it....and I hit them just as far if not farther.... the only thing that took a little getting used to was the impact because it's obviously not as soft... but then again when I hit the sweet spot it feels that much better. No swing changes for me -
got it today... paid 180. got the aldila nv stiff shaft (the red one)...love it.. i tried the taylormade r5xl, cleveland hibore, callaway big bertha and that one.... (=/ they were out of the r7 steel and burner)... but out of the 4 that I tried I liked the cobra the best.

burner 19 degree.. love it

having nice clubs(not to say i have the nicest but I think I have some pretty nice clubs) gives me confidence and I just feel better than if I were playing some old crappy set. That being said, even that confidence would not be able to fix major swing flaws. I find it rediculous when I walk down the driving range and see this guy with say a callaway ft-i, callaway fusion woods, callaway fusion wide sole irons etc etc and then when they swing their driver.. 1. it's an ugly swing 2. the ball slices and goes about 170 yards
-
i bought a box of the tour fires and i thought they were pretty solid
-
i would just do 52 then either 56 or 58

Drive Starting and Staying right

what you're describing is a push... I tend to have 2 bad ball flights besides my desired draw.. both have to do with timing.... 1. is when my hands/arms get ahead of my body and I hook it. 2. is when my body outraces my hands/arms and they get left behind which is when i push it. so possibly number 2?
