I have recently been taking too much grass and taking a bigger than normal divot when playing lately. The ball is going straight but i am losing precious distance in my irons all the way through to my driver. I am even taking divots with my driver. What causes this? I'll try to get some swing videos up. I have a tournament this week. Helppp!!

yeah, i do tend to do that sometimes. I have been shanking it a little lately though. In a school match (we play 7 holes for matches,to save time i guess) i shot a 7 over 35 but i am sure i couldve done better had i not shanked it a couple times.

I made it guys. haha idk what i was so nervous about. I am #3 on the team, and because i have been practicing so much and playing on the course on my own time on weekends and other days i am now consistently shooting in the low 40s. I played 18 today and shot an 84. Thanks for your help

update. (btw mty friend didnt want to make an account so i told him i'd ask this community!) ok,So he asked the coach and the coach walked into the pro shop and told us that they didnt have it, and that he didnt know what to do. In my opinion this is unnacceptable. I know it is my friends fault for losing it in the first place, but since the coach said that he turned it in he should have taken responsibility and taken care of it. My friend doesnt know what to do but buy a new wedge.
-
it was a nice wedge. he had a 58* callaway vintage forged \ and what do courses do after a certain period of time?
-
I have always wondered this. You see the piles of sticks in the cart barn or the pro shop... I understand most people realize that they lost their club so they head over and pick it up. But one of my friends left his wedge on the 9th green (we play 9 holes on weekdays) during a school match. He didn't realize his error until the next day at school. The next day he asked our coach if he picked up a wedge, and our coach said the assistant coach did indeed pick it up. The assistant coach left it in the pro shop with the attendant. So after practice i went with my friend to pick up his wedge. The pro shop attendant told us, he didnt have the wedge we were looking for and suggested the cart barn.We went there and still no luck. A week has passed and still no wedge. What do you think could have happened? do you think someone came along and pretended like it was theirs or did the course sell it? help me out

What are the middle school coaches looking for at tryouts? I am in 8th grade at my 6-8 middle school. What do you think i need to shoot to "make" the team. Tryouts are three days, two qualifying rounds and one day on the range. I usually shoot around 45 or 46 and i am wondering if this is good enough to make the team. I probably can shoot better but more importantly i am consistent. Does anyone here remember playing in middle school? or if they currently are in high school who has had middle school golf experience. My golf coach is positive that i will make it, given that hes seen most junior golfers in the area. Give your feedback. edit-i couldnt try out last year owing to baseball conflictions.

Hey, enjoy your stay

i like having my clubs in a specific order.

For my science project i chose to examine the composition of golf balls and stuff and while i was cutting them open i decided to take some pictures. Check em out
-
i have the logo of the ball halfway between the top of the clubface and over. So like on my drive i would have half of my ball touching the clubface and the other(top) half above the club. I use the logo as a guidline.
-
you want to try to lift the ball up with your long irons. Thanks.

yeah, i love playing by myself in the rain.Great experience. Oh and i went off today and it was raining a little and i shot a 41. Which is okay i guess.

So, heres a background story first, i know my courses head pro through camps and lessons at the course. ive known him for a while and he picks the 4 best kids going into high school and goes out on the course with us. i am one of those for So every thursday we go out to the course. Needless to say it was raining. Now this was only the second real time i have played in the rain. The lies sucked and my putts didnt roll true and i had no grip on my clubs.Of course i forget my all weather gloves THAT day. but i found it really helpfull, in that it will help me for high school So what do you think? Comments on playing in the rain?
