I watched it live as well, and the many re-plays. I am sure that he was trying to make a stroke. If you look at the re-play the angle of the club face hits the ground in such a way that one would do during a down stroke. But golf is a game of integrity and so we must assume that he is being honist.

Q.Q. I love that avitar. Newman!

I had an Odyssey two ball blade. I liked it alot. But I started reading these forums and kept seeing the name "Scotty Cameron", knew nothing about them, what was so great, how much they cost etc. So I went to check it out at my local EW. Picked it up and WOW! There is just something differant about these putters. The feel, the confidence, the weight, the grip, something. I bought it on the spot and I will never use anouther putter. Never. My putting has been on fire! Whats that saying? "From my cold dead hands!"

I play by myself alot and I love it. We are still in 'off season' here in Fl and the corses arent crowded yet. I keep my clubs and shoes in my truck and whenever I get a chance I go out. If there is no one behind me Ill play two balls. I really use the time to build my fundimentals. If I shank a shot, Ill drop anouther and hit it right. Its much better practace then going to the range.

Man I do that sun or no sun!
-
Yea, normally between my normal group one of us can keep an eye on it but i was playing by myself tonight. I think I played it right considering the circumstances.
-
I would like opinions on what to do when the sun is in your eyes... Today I was playing late and the sun was very low. On two holes I lost the ball on my tee shot. I know I made great contact with the ball but I could not find either ball to save my life. Going back to the tee box and re hitting would have not been any good beacuse of the sun. So based on my past experiance with these holes I estimated where I have drivin the ball before and droped there. I did add a stroke for dropping and played on. But I got to thinking.. 1) whats the official rule say? 2) and in the absence of a rule book how would you have played it?

Ready for a good laugh? I smoke.............................Swisher Sweets! Just awsome!

I looooooove my x-20's.

In your humble opinions what is the ball that feels soft but spins the least? Thanks.

Thanks! Just what I needed.

Could someone please explain bounce in regards to wedges? I purchaed a 56 and a 60 degree spin milled with a 14 bounce, this is what the man at EW recomended. I am having trouble addapting to these wedges. When I hit them square, man is it sweet. But unfortunatley most of the time I dig them in the turf and take a huge divit. With my PW and AW Callaway X20's I did not seem to do this nearly as often. I relize that it is my swing but could any of this be attributed to the bounce of the club? Is the higher the number the higher the bounce? Thanks

Looking into a Golf Membership - Have Some Questions
Hacker replied to sioutdoors's topic in Golf Talk
I live in Jupiter, Fl where Jack and other pros live. Tiger just bought a $40 mil house here and tore it down to rebuild. The Bears Club, you can guess by the name who designed it, is a very exclusive gated community that has a $1 millon membership buy in and about $50,000 a month dues. Needless to say about five miles from that I play at the public course! -
I have a driving range mat and a large peice of canvas hanging from the ceiling in my garage. Much like you would find at your local golf shop. Its great, rain or shine I can hit balls. Also I can still park my wifes mustang in there.

Scotty Cam Studio. It is sooo sweet.

That much I cant tell you. I took about 7 years off before coming back to the game this year. I recommend going to your local golf shop and spending several hours hitting differant clubs. I spent like three hours at my local Edwin Watts. I think they thought I was using it as a practice range until I came back the next day and droped a load on new irons, bag, driver, hrbrids and putter. But I bought the balls at Walmart!
-
I dont know if I agree with the statement that they havent changed. I took my old Ping Zing 2's (funky looking ones) and hit them back to with several new brands/clubs and I found that with the higher priced irons, ie x20's and the ping rapture and such that the ball came off alot hoter on the new clubs. I felt like I was swinging a brick at the end of a stick when I went back to my old ones. Get the X-20's, I love mine.

I read an artical about two guys that where on a cruse and where asking the same thing. Did the golf balls hit off the back of the ship do any harm? They ended up developing a seaweed core golf ball that is bio degradable. Sold off the idea and made millions. Tell her they are 'special seaweed balls'.

After sleeping on it I think your right, Ill keep my p wedge in the bag. I use it more as a regular club than anything eles. I think Ill get a 52* gap wedge insted.
-
I just went and replaced my Callaway X-20 cavity back approach and sand wedges with a 56* and a 60* Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedges. I came back to the house and hit them for about an hour. WOW! What a difference. So now I want to replace my pitching wedge as well. What degree should I get? Thanks.

Which ball do you use? or prefer?
Hacker replied to Robiola the Monster's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Am I the only guy on the planet that hits Pinnacle (long)? I know they are cheep but I like the way they feel. I know they might not have the 'cool' factor, but what am I missing? -
I do exactly what bwinger79 said and I use a low club like a 4 or 5 iron. 1/2 swing.

Great responces. My playing group and I do it every time we play but it is very low key. We do it so in such a way that you really cant tell if a comment was a jab or not. The very fact we do it this way makes you on your mental game at all times. So when I play with anouther group of people I feel like I can relax and play better. I guess in some stange way I actually feel that it makes me a stronger player.
