Like the title says, is anyone here a Truvis collector? Just curious to see what you have in your collection. I'll go first

The problem with this code is that it ONLY applies to FULL soles. If you want a custom grind you are out of luck unfortunately. Looking to buy my first set regardless, although I would like that discount, and just am waiting on some answers from their customer service dept.

The last two years saw me playing a lot less than the few years before, but thats changing this year! I've played a few rounds already and also joined a Thursday night league. My goal for the season is to play at least 6 times a month with 4 or more range sessions. Since I'm going to be playing much more often I decided to buy a new driver (I'm a club ho at heart), but first a bit about me… I'm currently hitting a 10.5° Ping G10 with the stock stiff shaft. My ball flight is a fade that, way too often, turns into a slice. My average distance so far this year has gone down from the years prior and I'm only getting a smidge over 200 yards. So I hit the PGA Superstore near me and went through a fitting… Club Head Speed: 95 MPH Launch Angle: 10(ish)° Spin Rate: 3879 Flight: Dead Straight/Baby Fade I only ended up trying the following drivers based on the recommendation of the fitter guy: TaylorMade SLDR, TaylorMade JetSpeed, Callaway X2 Hot. The X2 wasn't for me and it was immediately apparent so let's remove that and here was the TM results: SLDR - I carried this longer than the JetSpeed, but pulled almost every shot left & spin was significantly more than the JetSpeed JetSpeed - Carry was shorter, but including rollout the shot was longer. Pattern was tighter and down the middle and spin was significantly less So walking out of the store here is what I ended up with and the average stats TaylorMade 10.5° JetSpeed w/ Stock Stiff Shaft Club Head Speed: 95 MPH Ball Speed: 134 MPH Launch Angle: 11.9° Spin Rate: 2111 Total Distance: 230-240 average So I was super happy with the outcome (greater distance, tight dispersion, down the middle, and I got a free fairway wood), but I have a few nagging questions Why was every shot going down the middle (except for like 1 shot every 10)? Thats not my usual ball flight so was it a 'good day' or is there some trickery/faulty sensor stuff going on? Should I have tried some other drivers (any recommendations)? Based on my swing profile should we have explored some other shafts (any recommendations)? (We didn't try anything other then the standard regular flex and stiff shafts) We didn't really play with the weights, shaft, or anything on the SLDR -- Did we count it out to early? Sorry for the novel everyone. I'm just super excited to be golfing again and wanted to give as much info as possible.

The other two groomsman don't golf... although maybe a gift like this would have inspired them to do so LOL

Thanks! Yep that's the course in Cary, Illinois. That hill does indeed make for some interesting holes. The two that are the most interesting is the one you mentioned where the green is elevated way up. The other, IMO, is the hole where you are teeing off downhill to the green. It was actually my very first Eagle attempt I ever had. It was my first time playing the course a few years ago and I drove the green! (Missed the damn putt though lol)

That's the question... When you shoot your best round ever and your first Eagle in the same round which one is the icing and which one is the cake? Well thankfully I currently find myself in the midst of that amazing scenario because on Sunday, August 19th I broke 90 for the first time and carded that first ever Eagle! The round took place at the Par 75 - Cary Country Club where I shot an 88! (Front 42/Back 46) My previous best round here was a 93. While I'm thrilled about the round what was even more exciting is I left a legitimate 4 strokes out there which means I could have been flirting with breaking 80! As for the eagle it was on the Par 5 - #7. I managed to hold the green with the fairway wood and the 12 footer dropped dead center for the 3!

Hmm; that's a loaded question! By day I'm a father, (soon to be) husband, and a Product Consultant for an email marketing company where I design solutions/integrations with our clients so they can better spam communicate with their customers. On the side I do some iOS/Mac Development and Automation as well as build websites; there are a few some people may know (a custom putter maker, a bowling ball brand, and two longboarding sites) and a ton people probably don't. Cheers!

So the niblick is supposed to set up more upright to promote a putter like swing right? But you are also able to make a full swing at around 9 iron or PW distance as well right? So if you were going to adjust the length/lie would you adjust like you do with your putter or your irons/wedges? The reason I ask is that my irons are 2* upright & standard length while my putters are at 70* (2* flat) and cut down to 32.5" in length. I'm open to thoughts from anyone, but particularly from those who use a niblick. Cheers!

The hosel (face side) of the first putter has my initials although it's hard to see in those images.

And glad you both like them as well! @Dub, what were you using before the Nike Vapor? How would you compare it to your previous ball?

Glad you like it twinkie, but I do know what you're saying in terms of the text. Rocket - I love the first one I had made as well. I went with this second one because when my putting is on I like a smaller blade than then Surfside.

Quick question for my fellow CWG (Cold Weather Golfers)… What do you wear when the weather is in the 40s? I don't think I've ever played in this temperature range believe it or not. I've played in colder for certain, but I'm worried about bundling up too much tomorrow.

Make sure you take a good look at ebay from well respected sellers. If you don't mind preowned clubs you can find some amazing complete starter sets. I saw a Nike set of slingshots with the sumo driver and woods go for just over 400 and you can find a lot of older model big bertha sets on their for cheap as well.

I'm not even remotely close to being an expert, but here is what I think is going on. I think your WTF measurement is disproportionate to hour height. The lower your arms hang the flatter and shorter the club unless you reach way out to the ball. Now that said I would never order clubs based on a Golfsmith online tool because it can't possibly account for a persons unique body type and swing characteristics.

I agree with you and that makes a lot of sense. Like you said though I often feel screwed and as soon as my kids are grown I'm moving to year-round golf. About 15 years and counting LOL

Spoke to ClicGear and I have a new cart in route to me Great Customer Service all the way so far!

Well I got the ClicGear today from the GF and so far I love it in the house. The one issue though is the hand brake doesn't want to lock into the "locked" position and I'm afraid of breaking it trying to force it up. Did anyone else have that problem? I'm planning to call ClicGear tomorrow.

I think most people will tell you that golf is a hard game, but keep up the hard work and the results will come. I started golf in very very late 2007 and living in Illinois that essentially means I started in 2008. Well the year is ending and I'm regularly shooting in the 90s with best score being a couple 93s. The point isn't look what I can do because truth be told I have no athletic talent. But I took a bunch of lessons, worked hard, set goals, tracked my progress/strenghts/weakness and the rest is history. Goal for next year is to dip my toe in the 80s a few times.
