  2. SSsshhhh!! keep it down mate don't tell everyone!!
  3. You buying!??? I'd prefer a Barossa chiraz please.
  4. Haha. of course you are always right.
  5. The folks that run golf clubs are the most reactionary, conservative fools. EG. my old, old course refused a married couples discount to my friend because her partner is a woman.Golf is the loser
  6. Yes there different things(putting and chipping), but consider a 30 foot putt from the edge of the green.......we putt ......no body turn ,no wrists no body involvement at all really. But then consider the same shot but from the fringe. not 30 feet from the cup but 32 feet. So now it's suddenly important to use the body in some way......to enhance control? yeah right! I mean that's funny! Hell, all I'm saying is there are different ways to play that shot. I like to play the shot in a different way, big deal. I just find it funny the way you guys seem to think there's one way to do things .....the right way and the wrong way.
  7. Enhance control ha ha ......I'll try a full body turn next time I putt then. Haha!
  8. I agree dak4n6, I prefer no wrist, no body.......all hands, all arms, all shoulders. The chip and pitch shots are some of the finest control shots in golf I don't get why you'd introduce other elements like knee turn, body coil etc.
  9. So I decided to play 9 holes at Apollo bay last week and after scoring a 1 over 72 the previous week.......and I thought I'd give it a flogging. I mean, it's short, sure it's tricky, but I can drive 2 of the par 4's, so into it!!! I stayed even par until number 7........ so it's a long 210 meter par 3. Usually into a strong wind.........long story short I hooked into the unplayable scrub on the right, then bogied the second ball. Fu#@@@K
  10. It seems kind of counter intuitive to use the body. I mean the balls only got to go 20 meters or so. It's not like you need a real bunch of power. Do you mean the right amount of power?
  11. So you're powering the chip/pitch by dropping your hands...........but why do you want to use the big turn at impact? I would have thought that it could complicate your initial direction if you don't time it right. yeah, nice threads too!

    You're a badger!!!???
  14. Just a little something. In the videos above your top hand grip seems to be very "strong". Just a personal observation. When I played a more conventional style my grip would get stronger and stronger to the point where there'd be no rotation of hands and clubhead. Just looking at the swings it seems like you're getting to that posi. It's a very easy posi to get into because it makes the connection between your top wrist and handle feel "strong" with lots of leverage. However I always felt that what ended up happening was my concentration was on my top hand .....to the detrement of my bottom hand. So the more I played the more my top hand became dominant and my bottom hand became passive. The result was a swing where I would "pull" with my top arm/ hand and my bottom hand would just go along for the ride. = slicing and weak flicky fades! So, I reckon , back off on the "strong" top hand grip......get more clubhead rotation and let you're bottom hand punch more than being led by your top hand.
  15. Why are you getting so upset by this. If you don't like it then just ignore it.
  16. Anyway, the kids got a good golf swing........the golf swing , could we talk about that?
  17. But bomberman, Don't you reckon that Address posture is just for looks. I've seen plenty of "white belt brigade" guys look like world beaters when they stand there but they swing the club with spaghetti arms. And anyway, being a teaching pro is being a teacher, it's looking and understanding a swing and then giving instruction.........he's not a tournament golfer.
  18. Good swing though!
  19. But Jamo I think what tends to happen in these discussions is the linking of several "at contact" ideas. OK so, "compression" ........is just hitting the nut in the middle of the stick. It doesn't matter if I hit down on my iron or I tee my ball up on 1 foot tee peg and hit it to the moon. If I'm swinging the club at "x" MPH then that it. OK so, Stiking a 5 iron off the turf is better with a slightly descending AoA. BUT I would say its immaterial and another thread as to whether you come into impact with lag, no lag, flat wrist, bent elbow or one handed........It's a slightly downward AoA at impact that's important.
  20. compression is just hitting the golfball in the middle of the club. It's just a piece of metal hitting the ball. You compress the ball by hitting it. Folks say you have to hit down on it to compress it but if you think of hitting up on your driver then you can't compress it with a driver?I think it's one of those golfing fallacies that emerged from thinking when you hit down on the ball you squeezed it against the ground..
  21. Haha!! and yes,.......well no, I didn't belittle the teaching abilities of the two gentlemen involved........just what they were teaching......so yes, I think. Your right Ernest, no problems !
  22. No I don't think I would EVER, rubbish another members swing. That's not right!
