Dunno about what you mean there Erik. I'm just trying to say some people have pretty swings and some people don't. Aesthetics doesn't trump effectiveness

Lady has a point though. What is the idea behind driving a 2 ton vehicle.

Single Length Irons - Nike Blades

I love having a bit of a tinker with golf sticks. At the moment I'm playing Cleveland niblick wedges(sand, 49, 42) the same length and I'm thinking of doing a set of "all hybrid" clubs from about 8 to 4. The set ups as we currently have them with 1/2 inch gaps in length seems to be more an anoyance than essential -
I forgot to add. IMHO one of the greatest and most under rated aspects of the golf swing is simplicity. It's all very well to Analyze the bejeezus out of yourself, and if you look around at lots of swings and advice on here, you'll see plenty of it. But a simple swing is repeatable and dependable, it lets you concentrate on other parts of the game. Don't be fooled into thinking your swing has to look like this or that. My point is if you can hit the nut down the middle then you can play golf to a very high level. Your swing looks very simple and straight forward to me. The driver seems to come down the same path as it went up, hands look forward at impact, weight seems stable, power looks good. Go for it!

What does the driver do that you think needs changing?

Interesting stuff LC. I read a story a while ago about a guy who used 2 lengths. sand to 7 were 36 or something and 6 to 3 were something else. Geez that was helpful haha -
Just having a bit of a crack Erny. And come on....... it is the worst motorcycle ever made.
-
That fine but it's a bit esoteric when you pull on the front brake and nothing happens or you go around a corner and scrape the crap out of everything, then hit the throttle........and nothing
-
I rode one once, I was so underwhelmed. It didn't do anything a motorcycle should. I don't get why people are so loyal to them.

Gents, what would the chrysler sr8 and the cobra cost in US dollars?

Yeah but there's all the crap around the "game improvement" or the "players irons". The distinctions are a fantasy probably invented by guys who are better golfers and want to separate themselves from the schmucks who have........ perimeter weighting!!!!!........NO.... NOT perimeter weighting!!!! Golfers are a breed. I can't think of another sport where other players look at your equipment to see what sort of player you are. " HMMmmm, he has .....EEEeeekk, perimeter weighting........but I have forged blades......Therefore I'm a proper player. Ha! So much of a golfers self worth is tied up in the style of their sticks. The brand, last years model(icky), the colour, even those guys that just have to have stiff shafts in their irons........even though they swing at half rat power. Ego, Machismo, self delusion.........wank!

Yeah, but Isn't that an H/D. I mean.....really? Ok, if your an I.T/ computer type guy or your riding it as some sort of bet or something.

Pro's and cons of the LPG swing method
logman replied to logman's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Just a thought about a couple of threads that are being posted at the moment and how they relate to the swing I'm learning. Golow59 posted about " squareing the forearms" and then mentioned about his grip. Just a view from my side of the fence. Since I started the LPG stuff questions about grip and club squaring have kinda become moot. Sure I think about them but in a way they're "set" by the swing. Kuykendall recommends very thick grips. The Idea of the thick grip, for me anyway is to further reduce the influence of the wrist and the hands. They just feel right to me. There is so much grip in your hands that wearing a glove isn't important at all. Anyway before I changed swings my grip would tend to get "stronger" and stronger over time. I'd then realize my grip was overly strong and I'd twist it round to a more neutral posi. IMO, strong grips(in the conventional swing) are compensations for what is being asked of the wrist and hand. If you take up a strong grip on the club, the whole structure of your hand, wrist, forearm, shoulder "feels" stronger, but it's a position that causes compensations later. It really is a case of "feel not being real". Anyway with the bent arm /no wrist swing the whole moving mass of the wrist/arms etc makes sense. The thumb runs at zero degrees to the club face, the back of the hand faces the target at address and contact.....That's it. The bottom hand gives you power and stability, and because the elbows bends and not the wrist you get that strong feeling that you get with a "strong grip" in a conventional swing...... but without the complications. When you swing to the top, the top hand and forearm rotate 90 degrees. If you hold your front arm out in front of your body with your hand flat and the back of your hand facing the target then just elbow bend the arm to your back shoulder(like you're swearing an oath but a little further to your shoulder).........There, that's ALL the front arm and wrist do. There's a couple of "finer points" but in essence......That's all the front arm does. There's no wrist cocking, no timing issues, no "flipping"etc etc. IMO It's a much simpler method. Anyway, the front arm, hands, grip, forearms questions, to me, are now the least of my problems. In a way I'd like to think that I wont have to think about that stuff much at all. Now if only I can get my tempo right, and my back to the target longer, and my squat happening,......etc, etc -
I think that's how you hit a draw

Hey mate good news on the swing........bad news on the injury. I've heard that as a home remedy a combination of sports linament, tea tree oil and toothpaste, rubbed on to the groin area is really good for sprains and soft tissue injuries etc.

I got a good tip from Gary Travis Via Kuykendalls LPG site. It's so dumbass easy and super effective. You change the grip of your top hand so the thumb runs down the back of the club. Some of you guys do this already I think. The Idea is to create a stiff wrist with NO break in it from start to finish. So basically you've got a straight rod made up of the club and your arm. Your set up is weight over your front foot with no weight shift. The thing that powers the chip/pitch is your rear arm. Just think of your rear arm as the piston and your front arm as a long pendulum. This is the easiest method to learn. It'l take you 30 minutes. The other big advantage is that you can just swing it a little harder for shots up to about 60 meters It'l feel odd at first, but what the hell This works!

President Obama's Golf Weekend: Off Topic Political Bullshit
logman replied to stogiesnbogies's topic in The Grill Room
I have to agree with you there Stogies, In Australia we spent big dollars on education, a broadband network and other schemes, and the proof of the pudding's in the eating. We've got 5.2% unemployment, good growth, bugger all debt etcetc -
So I was messing about with going back to play as a righty a couple of months back(abandoned) and I bought a cheap driver. Well, cheap is a bit harsh. It's a MD golf 10.5......UST shaft.....Titanium....etc etc. But the thing sounds like a hollow high pitched, BBBOOOIIIINNNKKKK. Like I'd hit the ball with a empty coke can. My question is does the sound effect performance, cause it sounds like .....crap!

How good is it when you get rid of the slice. Mind you, the slice is a sneaky bastard and will try to take over when ever he can. Also be careful when you practice at the range. If you get tired you're body will go back to comfortable movements and you'll be a slicer again.
