Coming from someone that has dunked almost everything. Let it dry for about a week, if you can open it do that and use electrical contact cleaner. You can soak it in this and it will displace the water and clean up any salt/mineral residue. Hope this helps. It should come back, my coworker just dunked his and it works just fine.

New Years Resolutions For Losing Weight
beach_golfer replied to ks8829's topic in Fitness and Exercise
After about 4 months off after a busy summer I'm at it again. Quit smoking, rejoined the gym and I'm back to running about 3 miles a day. We also started P90X and it rocks, its probably the only infomercial product ive seen that works! Right now im 5' 9" 176lbs, I don"t plan on dropping weight just toning up more for summer again. -
Oban, Oban, Oban!! I highly reccommend this shaft. I have the Devotion 04 flex, 75gm tipped .75 inches and love it. I have it installed in a Ping Rapture 9*. I had a problem with balooning and this cured it immediately. I would definetly check these out. I can not speak for the Revolution series but have heard great things about them as well.

I like to watch movies I can enjoy and relax to, so Out Cold is a top. Full Metal Jacket is great also. I really enjoy the GUARDIAN. It doesn't fully or correctly portray the USCG but at least they finally got a motion pic dedicated to them.

Carry bags...why is yours the best?
beach_golfer replied to Doctorfro's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
+++1 for the Hoofer. Call me biased because it is all I have ever owned. I have looked at and tried many but these just fit. And it is a Indiana U. team bag, my obsession. -
My first Scotty Cameron, could it be?
beach_golfer replied to Ben's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Ben, I don't change putters all that often but when I saw this one I knew I had to have it. Mine is the 34" heavy version. I absolutely love it. The feel, setup everyhting fits. I rate this putter 9.5 out of 10. Happy hunting. -
I would like to think 1) It is for a great cause. 2) It is a new event, people are drawn to new things. 3.) This is their job to play. 4.) Times are tough for everyone, the Ferrari needs gas, need 100g's for kids tuition, charter pilots kids need shoes..etc.

100% It would be the putter for me. Specifically when you roll about a 10 footer for birdie and you feel nothing, just a pure strike like something takes over and it just tracks dead center and hits the back and drops in. I second what everyone says that the putter for me makes or breaks a round, even if I am striking my irons and such poorly, a solid putter more than compensates.

So would you do your job for free? Let us see who is here for the cash and who could stick it out due to the love of the job. Me, Yes I would do it for free. I enjoy the look on persons faces when I show up.

Zero experience with this on clubs. I however have seen this on weapons. It is either the silicone or a packing grease, (ie. cosmoline) I use a dry release that contains Teflon and it causes the same result. The product is oxygenating in use and causing the build up. If it keeps up switch to some WD40 or the like, it will clear it up.

Children these days are undisciplined and disrespectful. So today I went to a local elementary as a volunteer to show them some aspects of my job and the gear I carry. So after a bit I asked for questions, I swear I witnessed 2 kids put away phones and 5 more cut off iPODS to either hear or participate in the Q&A.; Now mind you these children were K-5! I understand folks here have kids in that age range and I am not grouping, but has anyone else noticed this with the new gen.?

Anticipating the new Scotty Cameron releases 9/15...
beach_golfer replied to Dub's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
So I just got my Squareback and I have to say it is most likely the best putter I have ever rolled one with. I recieved a 34" heavy 1* flat. I love this thing. I would reccomend looking at these if you are a Scotty fan. I still have yet to see the rest of the new lineup though. -
I am on the right. This one is from a Middle Eastern sand course.

Attachment 1398 Where I live and play it isn't uncommon to see the whole gamut of U.S. aircraft. A few months ago the Thunderbirds were in town and I swear they were mapping yardages over the local muni as they were about 1000 feet off the deck and circling for about 8 holes. The coolest though is seeing Air Force 1 circling about once a month. The only thing I could do with out are the CH-53E's buzzing my house at midnight. Those things make a tornado in my yard.

Ping's amazing new equipment.
beach_golfer replied to beach_golfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
It was square. -
So I went to Myrtle yesterday and Ping was at one of the local shops. The new stuff coming is awesome. the S57's are so smooth they may knock the Mizzy's out of the bag. The new Rapture backs up the old with much muscle. And the hybrids...well hit them and decide for yourself, I loved them. And then there were the new putters! They are great, weight kits cool graphs and great feel. The only down side to the whole session was I found that I neeeded a new driver. I tested my Rapture against all of their models and I picked up 20 yds and less spin with a 9* X-flex G-10. P.S. the new fitting cart is awesome. Interchangeable heads and all!!

Thank you everyone for the advice, I am going to take bits of all this and put it to use. I would like to say that I am not trying to break records or earn medals, I have to run to keep my job and work with some great guys but I needed some outside advice on increasing speed as their recommendations did not help. Stride length has helped dramatically. today I ran a 7:00 mile which for me is decent, and I actually feel I could have done much better but did not press myself. And the phone pole sprints are a weekly addition and are def. helping.
-
It's definetly not because I'm not used to putting that much effort in. It was because I ran 3 miles on the beach and it ripped the H#ll out of my calves. I have just hit a wall and can't push through for some reason. I don't struggle with my runs, I feel great when I do it I am just at a speed plateau.

Hills would be nice but I live on the NC coast here and hills are few and far between. And last time I used a 'chute I thought I killed myself. I have been sprinting but it seems to decrease my endurance somewhat not sure how though.

Are there any runners in this forum? I run about 3-4 times a week any where from 1.5 to 4 miles at a time. I have hit a wall running the 1.5 mile for time at 9:55, this is ok but I would like to improve. Other than a parachute does anyone have any suggestions for increasing speed? Also I just wanted to see how many here are runnners.

Maybe you should be thankful you can play all day every day. I personally enjoy playing alone, just me and the course. When you are out there spice it up. Take a drop in the thickest rough, play the holes backwards (i.e. wedge, mid iron, FW). Just enjoy what you have, one day you may have a career that will only allow you to play once a month.

Otter Creek, and Timbergate are 2 good ones.
