Fixing the golf hole with your hand or finger(s)?
Tiger90 replied to Beachcomber's topic in Rules of Golf
you fix anything on the hole until you have putted out, Once you have you can fix the mark for your playing partners. Most people do it with the ball, but i dont think it matters because you are done the hole, and can touch the green if you like -
I read the first paragrah and lauged, this guy is a tard, if this was true everyone woud be doing this.. and also, who the f*** wants to hit a 9 iron 190 yards, what is the point. you will just loose so much acuracy swinging that hard, your mistakes will be magnified. This guy clearly escaped from a mental institution and should never be aloud to teach anyone about golf ever again

Temp is my key to driving. I find when i am thinking about tempo, i stay way more controlled, i dont move as much and in the end i make better contact, hit the fairway and even hit it farther when it feels like im not swinging as hard. Temp will also make you way more consistant, and as long as your consistant you should know where the ball is going wether it is a straight or a slice.

Ball Flight Laws, PGA of America and Dr. Gary Wiren
Tiger90 replied to mvmac's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
That video is totally wrong. Those ball flight laws are correct in every single way. I have used those laws to teach myself how to hit draws and fades of all shapes and sizes. The most highly rated golf instructor in the US, among many other amazing golf coaches. Those rules dont just come into their heads and the best players in the worlds for no reason. If the club is swung on an inside to outswing path, the force of the club going in that direction is much strong than that of the face slightly closed (to hit a draw), eventually the draw spin over powers the push and the ball draws back. I dont understand how this guy can say those rules are wrong. Where is his logic. In fact, i used those exact rules to teach a friend of mine, today, how to hit a draw and a fade....soooooooo i dont understand -
You should see homna clubs. way more expensive...also Japanese, they all have real gold in them http://honmagolf.com/honma/index.cfm?Page=index&Nav;=home&t;=y doanld trump doesnt even use the most expensive irons

I agree with everyting you say, except 1. Jack was nicer to watch....I never saw him, but i know Tiger is amazing to watch, so Jack must have been something else 2. That fist pump has to go....ya right, the fist pump is what has been missing from my life for the past 2 years...best way to end a tourny is a Tiger fist pump

Coming second doesnt count in golf...or any sport for that matter. Sure it is impressive that he came that close 15 more times, but in the end he didn't win the tournament and that is all that matters when judging who the greatest is. And if anything, golf is more popular of a sport now than it was in the 60's and 70's, so i would argue that TIger had more competition, he just dominated the field so much it made it look as if there was no competition. I've heard of a Tiger-Slam, but i've never heard of a Jack-Slam...

and i know i misspelled Amateur lol

How good do you have to be to qualify for the US am? I know a few guys who played this year in it, they are each a few strokes better than me, but it makes me wonder what you have to shoot to qualify. Side note, all 3 of these players missed the cut, but one was 2 strokes off the cut...and how you go about qualifying

Shawn Clement or Stack and Tilt for a Beginner?
Tiger90 replied to outlaw1984's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
For a beginner....stick the the fundamentals 1. Grip 2. Posture 3. Alignment -
Exaggeration is a very important step in trying to fix something you've done for ever. You always feel as if your doing whatever it is your supposed to be doing, but most of the time you are not doing it enough. When you try to exaggerate it, you will gain way better feel for this movement.

Lots of guys in the MLB keep their brims flat....and this is golf lol...where style is created. And this is his style, there are way worse outfits out there. Look at Sergio, he looks like he is the manager at Burger King, with his dark blue pants and orange shirts....ugly as Sh**

I think those hats are awesome. I would wear a fitted on the golf course if i had some nice golf ones, and not just Blue Jays ones....side note, GO JAYS!

Personally, what i saw from Tiger was encouraging. He was looking more confident than he has in 2 years. He was snipping his irons, but most importantly he was draining putts when he needed too...classic Tiger. (and he was having fun! I even saw a little smile as he pulled the ball out of the hole on 18, which usually doesnt happen...) I am very excited to see what Tiger's got in store for us next year. Bottom line, he is Tiger Woods, and he will never forget how to play the game of golf. He will never dominate like he did, but neither will anyone for a hundread years. Im not saying the old Tiger is back, but i am saying he will win 2 MAJORS next year....yeah i said it!

Any close fourths?
-
Yup, a more controlled, short swing will be more accurate, and you are more likely to hit the sweet spot and will hit the ball further.

I have two stories, my first will be entered in the contest and I just felt like posting my second one for all of you to read... 1. Graceful thoughts, Horrific executions, True Love... 2. F**k it, I am hitting Driver! Good Luck everyone!

yeah i agree, i feel like i could be half of the guys playing in the Big Break shows...it would be way more interesting. They deal with more pressure on a weekly basis than most of the current big break contestants. I feel if it were comprised of mini tour players there would be less "choking"

What would be the most useful/coolest accessory to have on the bag that does not exist yet?

swing quick, not hard...there is a difference

Grip is personal to the golfer, I do however believe that alignment is very important. To hit a proper draw or fade, you need to align your feet left or right of the target, have your shoulders square to the target and swing along your feet, with the club face square to the target. When a golfer is trying to hit a straight shot and they have their alignment is off, their feet are open and shoulders square or right of the target, they are going to hit a slice. The reason this is true, is because the path your club is swung on depends on where your feet are lined up. If your feet are open, you will swing from outside to in (along your feet) or vis versa, if they are closed, you will swing from inside to out. Your shoulders represent where you are trying to make the ball end up, so they are always square to the target, and is also where your clubface should be square to at impact. Now when a golfers alignment is off, for example their shoulders are aimed right, and their feet are square, they will push the ball to the right. If they have their feet open and their shoulders square to the target (assuming a square face at impact) they will hit a slice because of the outside to inside swing path. I have corrected my slice a few times where i have had my alignment off without even noticing causing me to slice. A simple alignment adjustment, and my slice is gone (my only swing thought is a square face at impact)>

If i was teaching a new golfer, i would teach them the fundamentals, proper grip (not week or strong), proper stance, and posture. If you have a weak grip, but are able to play with it because it compensates for another part of your swing, then why change it. If it works, leave it. But if you are taeching a new golfer, stick the fundamentals and try to start them off on the wrong path. On a side note: the only part of the golf swing everyone agrees on is the moment of impact, Grip, posture and every other aspect have been fooled around with for centuries.

i would just get a bushnell if i were you, all the courses are pre-loaded! GPS's can get 3-5 yards off, where as a range finder is 100% accurate. I got one last year for my birthday and it is awesome. And, for some reason if you get the orange one it is $100 cheaper, exact same range finder, just orange.
