Lol...yet again knowing your background makes me laugh at you.

Seriously, it's completely different. When I use it from 90 to 130 out I basically don't really hinge my wrists dont really bend my right elbow etc...Its basically like taking a really long putt stroke with a little hit to it. It just reacts way different from any othe club Ive used. Also yes I've used 5 irons and 7 irons for punch shots this isnt the same thing..Im not putting my hands way ahead of the club etc. FOR ME it's just easier. Anyway...im about done answering any questions in here because folks love piling on and I'll just keep getting the off handed comments chucked at me about it.

So I agree with you, in both cases not just the one case. We shouldnt want folks disparaging folks at all. An example, NM Golf on most of his posts starts with something approximating "if you want to use it fine" then says in a couple separate posts that he personally thinks people that use them are hackers (bc they use clubs in the hacker bin) and not worth their salt and would be a laughing stock no better than someone having a ball retriever. Thats disparaging even if it wasnt meant to be (although I dont see how it wouldnt be meant that way). What if I said, "I understand your opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinions" then follow up with, "personally I think people that have such a problem with it are snooty stuck ups, and attitudes like that are part pf the reason why Golf was losing interest from people prior to COVID.Even though I stated that I understand their opinions and they are entitled to them I went on to say my opinion which was still disparaging. Thats what has the thread where it is. I've tried to answer everyones questions respectfully as to why I use it and to give as much detail as I can, but when people couch their questions behind comments that are disparaging it makes the questions look (as they are) fake. The questions arent asked for an answer then they were just another way to disparage. Thats how you get situations like this. Anyway, I know that was a long post, but its interesting how perspectives allow folks to not see something thats right there. Disparaging is still disparaging regardless of how its its presented.

It's funny, now that I've been given the inside info on you/your antics/your troubles here I can now chuckle at every one of your posts. Quite comical actually.

They actually don't. I can't hit a wedge 130 yards 4 feet off the ground the whole way. Also, any other club I would use for that type of shoot wouldnt give me the same type of lie interaction with the ground as well. Trying a wood or driver for that shot brings in the length of the club as issues as well. I get it though...if you havent tried it you wouldnt know. Perhaps try it once to see, before making judgements?

Yes.. When I play Dauphin highlands its a wide open links course with short rough and huge greens. I play there from the blacks at 7200 yards and score probably 5 strokes On average lower than at Range End even though on the handicap scale Dauphin Highlands is like six strokes harder than Range End from the whites since Range End is only 6500 yards or so. Unfortunately all my association's tournaments are at Range End so I gotta taylor stuff to there..

My 58 degree is my sand wedge...it works well actually for pitches up to 100yards. The 62 is great for short sand shots and flop shots etc.. Where I play (range end) they oftentimes allow the rough to get up to about 3.5 inches and the greens are small with no fringe. So in a lot of cases you have to either hit a sand bunker type shot out of the rough or pick it perfectly clean if it sits on top. The chipper is good for if it sits on top. If I have a straight forward chip/ pitch I use the typical technique with the 58 or 62 if not I go with the utility wedge/chipper. Also it's a great club for under trees etc. It's definitely not a one trick pony as others have stated. Also trying trying to use a putt motion with a wood or long iron adds an additional difficulty since they are both way longer than my putter. Plus I dont have or need another club right now (might change later) for now I like my setup. That said we have a two day tournament this weekend and it looks like they've lost some rough due to being dry so at least it wont be super thick. Should make it a tad easier (although I'm sure something I'm doing will screw up on me like putting chipping or iron swing where I wind up shooting and 83-90 like always).

So I posted about my experience with my Cleveland Smart Sole Chipper yet was attacked by NCates who strongly implied that I was a liar. Sorry I felt the need to defend myself. I have never tried to single a person out and attack them on this website when they simply posted their experience with a club (which is all I did).

Yes typo. My gap is 52 my sand is 58 and my lob is 62. I don't know what to tell you man...my game golf name is MattM. My typical driver M4 7.5 degree is typical 262 yards. Typical 9 wood is 200 Typical mini driver is 229 If I want to hit my driver further I do...if I want to hit the mini further I do if I want to hit the 9 wood further I do. Sorry if that makes you feel bad about yourself.... Also...im pretty sure I said that I like to use my utility wedge from 130 in when under trees etc.. I'm usually not using it that much to traditionally chip it..
-
Yep it's definitely useful for that and also why Cleveland calls them utility wedges.
-
Huh...very strange but you do you...For me, I never hit my 5 wood better than my 9 so it was a useless club in my bag (literally never used it). Why would I keep a club like that? Also, I'm anything but tour quality swing speed. Any normal open minded amateur should know that it would be easier to hit a 9 wood than a 5 or 3 wood because its easier to get it up in the air. If You want to argue by all means continue. I dont know how good you are but you do you. Btw, if its not hard to speculqte about the loft of a gap wedge then ypu should have known I didn't have a distance gap between my gap wedge and 56 degree, yet you were so confident of that. Also, no I definitely dont lie about my distances....im on gamegolf and I went through swing issues last year which caused me to have to change swing and change irons and I play to about a 13 handicap right now. No idea why I'm even giving that information because you seem kind of poumpous and would go out of your way to judge anyway (that's just how youve come off in this thread if you aren't this must just be a bad first impression).
-
You definitely shouldnt be confident on that lol. You have no idea what the loft of my gap wedge is lol... My gap wedge is 52 degrees an I hit it anywhere from 105 yards to 120 yards depending if I'm hitting into the wind or not. My 58 degree is my 45 to 105 yard club. Also, once you get above 225 from the deck it's all a crap shoot anyway...Like I said, last week I took an easy swing with my 9 wood off the deck and it went 245 yards..the ball was flying way far last week though... Anyway... Wait what? Do you think you got me or something?! Go back and look again at what you were arguing... You argued that that I likely had a huge gap between my 9 wood and mini driver....I piinted out that isn't the case and that I MEANT to lay up from 245 out and took an easy swing with my 9 wood but it wound up in the greenside bunker 245 yards out... All that proves is that there isnt a huge gap between my 9 wood and my mini driver. I never said I hit my mini 300 yards off the deck!?!?! I seriously have no idea what youbare trying to get at...
-
If you ever hit the 9 wood you would be ok with getting rid of the hybrid and 5 wood. Literally I can hit it anywhere from 190 yards to 225 yards. Last week I took what I thought to be an easy swing on my home horse's par 5 from 245 yards out and it wound up in the trap hole high which sucked cuz it made it look like I was hitting it at the people on the green (but I wasn't). It's a GREAT club and the oldest in my bag. It's an rbz 9 wood. I'll prolly never get rid of it!
-
Lol...those are always weird statements...Im not sacrificing any club! I have a driver, mini driver (my 3wood), 9 wood, 5iron through gap wedge, 58 degree, 62 degree, hybrid wedge and putter. I have no real gaps and didnt need to "sacrifice" a club. Again I havent sacrificed any club...
-
I have a Cleveland smart sole C and I never get people saying these are one trick ponies. I use mine when under a tree from about 130 in. Its the perfect club to hit low laser beams when you have no room.
-
So...is there a rule is your ball rests on a bloulder that can't be moved in the bunker? Thats if you can know its there before you hit...Im seriously so pissed! The bottom of my new edel 62 degree lob wedge looks terrible now! I would think that would be considered dangerous as well!! On another note do you guys think I could dremel the bottom of the wedge smooth without screwing up the bounce?
-
That's fine as long as they keep fixing it so it works...
-
Huh? I just talked to them on Friday. They fixed the issue and it works now. You can load your rounds now,
-
Just had this bullshit happen to me today. Hit my shot out of the bunker. Heard a terrible sound then the ball reacted fine and went near the hole. I then look at the bottom of my NEW edel wedge and it's all scuffed the F UP! I'm so pissed!!! Problem is that it was a boulder! I told the clubhouse but doubt anything will be done..

I can confirm classic transfer app is working. The should charge us an annual "maintenance fee" for updating the classic app. That would fix any cost issues. Like I said I'd pay 20 to 50 bucks a year to have access to my data.

Yes, Another New Gimmick Club!

I definitely don't use my cleveland smart sole c out of the bunker, but it REALLY comes in handy when under trees ECT...Its def not a one trick pony, although I dont know of this club could be used as a 150yd in low ballflight club.. -
So after two rounds at my home course and comparing drives hit into the wind this club is definitely solid and must have had hotmelt or something. Comparing this against me my rounds with my M3 it's A SOLID 25 yards further! Exactly what I was hoping for! For anyone wondering though...Ihit my drives really high and I started using a 12 degree m3 (on lowest setting) to give me more forgiveness, but the backspin was causing my drives to balloon and took off tons of distance. I went the oppposit with this M4 and got an 8.5 degree M4 on the lowest setting. I still hit it plenty high, but def no ballooning! Really excited about the performance of this club!

I gotta be honest....I LOVE my Cleveland smart sole C utility wedge! It's been awesome! I hit from lies close to the green to 150 yards out when I need a line drive under a tree... I love it! Don't know much about this one though. The commercial is stupid though.. -
After reading about it I'm thinking that's what happened to mine. It still has a "ting" sound, but not as loud.
