  1. That's pretty funny.
  2. I also like the Titleist 904f's. I purchased the 906f2 with a 13 deg. UST V2 while keeping my 17 904f. I love the 904f. Didn't like the 906f2, sold it and purchased a new 904f 13 deg. last week of ebay. I love the flight, distance and sound of the 904f. I have Graphite Design YS6+ in both 904f's. I also have the 585 21 which I like well enough too.
  3. Another post that thinks that maybe 8.5 might be a bit low on the loft. I haven't hit the Fuji 360 though. I have the same driver with 9.5 and a pured 65 gram UST V2 stiff. I personally like boring drives and my driver can roll out up to 40 yards on firm fairways, but that's the high end. Usually I get anywhere from 15-20. If I have to hit it high, I have to hit a fade. I have difficulty hitting high draws anyway, especially with lower torque shafts.
  4. I recently purchased those expensive white tee's that are supposed to take side spin off. I actually liked them but they break easily. For par 3's, I'm superstitious. I like to find a broken wooden tee that was left behind to tee off with.
  5. Buy a sky marked or scratched Callaway or TaylorMade 400cc driver, any cheap 3 metal, an old Taylor Made rescue club(one without weights) Look on Craigs.com list for a set of 3-PW cheap irons, a 56 degree sand wedge, cheap putter and golf bag. Don't spend more than $200 for entire set. Use it a year for practice as you'll beat the crap out of it. Then if you still love golf after the season, which most likely you will, look on ebay for your second set while researching reviews of clubs that fit your eye and pocket book. Don't buy new when you're starting out, you'll regret it. Once your swing is down and you are scoring in the 90's feel free to spend thousands of dollars on top line equipment like the rest of us fools.
  6. Nippon NS Pro 950 GH. I have them in stiff flex but stepped down one. I love them. Distance and feel is better for me with a 103 swing.
  7. The spin milled refers to the face texture. Most the brand name wedges have good texture although I've noticed that the Vokey's retain their's longer. If you fat shots, got with the higher bounce. Whatever wedge you use out of the sand, go with the lower bounce. I use a 60 out of the sand with a 9 bounce but very open. I have Mizuno MP-R wedges 52-56-60 but was between them and Vokey's for a while. Ended up with the Mizuno's as Mizuno offered the Nippon shaft and Vokey didn't. I also have tour grind, which I like a lot and Vokey doesn't offer that either.
  8. I'm a transplanted Washington stater living in Brooklyn, try being a Mariner or Seahawk fan.
  9. The 503h had too much offset for me. I also like the set up of the 585h. It's more iron like and it seems easily useable from many lies. I have ys6+fw in both my 13 and 17 904f's and love them. The ys6+ hybrid is heavier and much less torque but I seem to get some great shots out of it. I'm thinking about going to our fitter next spring and trying out either the 20 degree Callaway fusion or whatever they are coming out with in the spring for fusion hybrids. I had an ft-5 fit with a 65 v2 this year and love it. I'm not sure about the set up of the callaway hybrids as they look like woods but I'll see.
  10. Callaway FT-5 9.5, V2 65 stiff.
  11. Driver, 15 degree 3 wood, 19-21 degree hybrid, 4-PW, GW,SW,LW and putter.
  12. Mizuno MP-R series 52.07, 56.10, 60.09 shafted with NP 950 stepped down stiff's.
  13. I love my MP 60's with soft stepped stiff NS Pro 950's. I had the 32's with S300 stiff and prefer the 60's set up. While the 60's look like cavity backs and offer a bit of perimeter weighting, they feel a lot like the 32's. I don't like the prosumer Callaway irons and probably couldn't hit their pro forged set. This goes for most cavity back irons. I owned two sets of cavity backs when I started golfing-TA 5's and Big Bertha 2002's. They are almost hybrid irons and not for anyone who is a bogey golfer or better. Mizuno's cavity back MP series is a nice combo of blade and cavity back, and easy to clean. Check them out. dcb
  14. Nippon NS 950 stiff soft stepped in MP 60's. I love them. Had them in R flex last year but were a little to soft.
  15. Sun Mountain C-130. Having 14 dividers keeps my handles from jamming at the bottom. Sun Mountain dividers go all the way to the bottom(nylon). I don't like the 2007 model as if you walk with a pull cart, as I do, you can't reverse the position of clubs as easily. I prefer the 2005 model as the pockets are a bit more stream lines. Good luck.
  16. I'm a bogey golfer and have 21 degree 585h but with the stiff YS6+hybrid shaft. I got the combo as I love the YS6+FW, but, the stiff FW has a 3.6 torque, which I love in a fairway club and the hybrid has a 3.0. It feels more like the NV. Anyway, I've heard that the 585 is more of scratch golfer club but I've had good luck with it. It is really a great mix of iron and fairway. If you like a less iron look at set up, Callaway X's and fusion's are nice. I'm going to demo them in the spring. good luck.
  17. Nippon 950 stiff, stepped down once.
  18. I've always been comfortable with a mallet. The one I loved but never played was the Bettinardi Hawk B12 I think. It had a great feel, I loved the black alignment t but I couldn't get past the electric green headcover and grip. I know I could've swapped them out but by then, I discovered the red X.
  19. A "big mouth know it all" in the group ahead of us noticed our friend, female, who is very attractive as we waited for his 4 to tee off. It was a 167 yard par 3 from the middle tee's. He decided to take his shot from the back tee, 195, as our friend was watching. He proceeded to explain how he was going to hit his shot, what trajectory and etc.... He took out his "6" iron. He took himself very seriously. From his swing, I'm guessing that this was a dream 6 for him. After a long tirade of practice swings he finally got himself behind the ball, waggled...and let her rip. His cavity back Callaway 6 hit at least three inches behind and an inch into the deck, sending a thin divot and dirt flying directly at our attractive friend. She watched the ball almost make it to the front box...almost and then said, which was not like her,"whip it out mister". His friends laughed. There was finally silence. I love golf. It's always fair.
