  1. But it doesn't get the viewership and that was my point. Look, I picked Kaymer in the contest and won second prize, so I don't need somone telling me what works and what doesn't especially when that wasn't what was being discussed. JEEEEZZZZZE.
  2. Discussing which play is more effective wasn't the point of my post in the least.
  3. No, never. I just put a Gatorade, protein bar and 5 hour energy in the bag before every round.
  4. To me what was most boring about Kaymer was his use of the putter from off the green every time. Part of what makes guys like Tiger and Phil so interesting is their ability to play all kinds of crazy short game shots.
  5. Leverage Squats 190 lbs, 1 set of 25 reps, 290 x 1 x 20, 410 x 2 x 8 Vertical Leg Press 410 x 4 x 16 Standing Calve Press 290 x 3 x 15
  6. I don't think there are significant advantages either way. IMO, you should just do what comes most naturally to you.
  7. I like the idea of a contest, but your second and third choices are sure to be picked to win by others, thus nullifying them. Contest or not, following the guidlines for the men's contest, my picks are Stacey Lewis -6 Jessica Korda -5 Natalie Gulbis-4
  8. I happen to know for a fact that when Tiger stopped to bang the Snack Shop girl at the turn, he was more than happy to wait until a spot opened up for him to get back on the course .
  9. No, you were right. It was my bad. I was thinking as if the penalty would have been assessed on Kaymer. And it's not even cocktail hour yet!
  10. Actually, if he was assessed a two stroke penalty, I would have won .
  11. Never and I've been playing 35+ years at a single digit handicap for pretty much all that time. I've probably have had close to a dozen tap-ins for birdie on par 3s but never a hole in one. My father in law, a 36 who tees off with a 5 wood cause he can't hit a driver, has had one. It's pure luck.
  12. For a moment there, I was so disappointed in not winning it all, I forgot there was a prize for second! Great contest, thanks guys.
  13. You forgot me. I have Kaymer at -6.
  14. Weightlifting, running and traditional wet shaving with an old fashioned double-edge safety razor, oil, shaving soap and brush.
  15. His best bet would be Berkshire Valley. Pinch Brook is an executive course. Knoll West while not a CC is not county, the much lesser Knoll East is. You need to know a member to get on. Neither course at Preakness is in that great great of condition or particularly interesting. While both Flanders courses are, they are dominated by the locals and tough to get on whereas Berkshire being a little more pricey and not allowing walking is easier to get on. Plus, it's the most picturesque and resembles the other courses he's alreadyplanning on playing (Crystal Springs and Ballyowen).
  16. Ya' think? The point wasn't that Kaymer would implode, but that just because someone shoots a crazy 1st 36 holes in the U.S. Open doesn't mean the winning score will be anywhere near that ot that the course is playing too easy.
  17. I agree. Look no further than the 1992 US Open at Pebble Beach where during the 3rd Dr. Gil Morgan became the first player to reach double digits under par in the history of the US Open and eventually got it to -12. He ended up the tournament at +5 while the eventual winner, Tom Kite, finished at -3.
  18. Yes. And also, he seems to be intimating that his entire foursome is at the snack shack waiting 15 minutes for their food. One would think it prudent to send the rest of your group on ahead to tee off while one or two grab the food. This way, at least half the group has already teed off by the time the lunch grabbers make their way to the tee.
  19. I would go with the Washington Generals except it might be offensive to people name McArthur or Eisenhower.
  20. Exactly, perfectly stated. If more people had this view, most rounds of golf would proceed much more smoothly.
  21. I'd love Kaymer to win and have his score to stay right where it is since he's my pick to win at -6 in the contest.
  22. With so many outstanding courses in the area, it's not really a must play.
  23. It's a traditional private country club. During my many visits to LV, I've played about two dozen courses but never could get on this one.
  24. Martin Kaymer -6 Keegan Bradley -5 Stewart Cink -3
  25. Phil obviously could deal with the typically US Open rough as his six second place finishes attest to. Conversly, Watson only had two top 5s with a high finish of 3rd heading into PB 82' .
