  1. They are extremely nice irons. I like them alot. You should have bought mine though. Excellent condition at a good price. http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8710
  2. I played baseball for 12-13 years, football growing up, basketball a couple years. Now it's just golf year round and softball in the spring/summer.
  3. I agree with this. Intensely studying swing mechanics and theory aren't much until you put them into use on the range and golf course.
  4. I gotta find a girl like you. Now that I know they exist I can begin my search.
  5. My post was more a rhetorical question about the way you responded to this thread. I wasn't implying anything pertaining your character and/or beliefs. But, in return, I must ask(humbly, of course) that you not make sarcastic generalizations towards the character of myself and my family because we choose to celebrate Christmas as well as exchange gifts. Thank you very much.
  6. So you don't celebrate Christmas?
  7. My parents never listen to me when I tell them what I want for Christmas(which I'm not complaining, I just don't understand why they ask). I usually just ask for money or tell them a couple things that I want. They usually get me something completely different so this year I made a big list of stuff and told them to choose. 8. Wow man. That's cool. Congrats. Keep that kid swinging the sticks for sure.
  9. After my update last Friday, I finished the year with a 0.0 handicap. I've been playing 6 years with the last two being not very active due to college. I really worked hard this summer to lower my scores. Made a couple of swing changes, practiced a ton, and I am still working on changing my mental approach(this is the toughest). I do not have an official "beginning handicap" as I did not have an official USGA handicap. I kept track of it with the handicap tracker from Golfsmith. According to that, it started as around a 2.5 at the beginning of the year.
  10. Absolutely. That's it in a nutshell for the most part. You have to have the drive, the wallet, and athletic ability doesn't hurt, either. Scratch was my goal for this season(5th season), and I'm pretty sure I will reach that goal when my handicap revisions are posted this Friday. I practiced a ton this summer and matured a ton on the golf course as well. Course management and short game are the two most important things in golf, IMO. Both come with practice and playing rounds on the course.
  11. Excellent! Want to send me your D2 and your 17* hybrid? I can put them to good use with my inferior Titleist bag. ;)
  12. This isn't a question that you should be asking other people for their preferences. This should be all up to you, and you alone. My suggestion is to just try them at a store and narrow it down to which one you like the best.
  13. I don't remember the exact times, but I have played numerous rounds in around 1hr-45minutes to 2 hrs. I had the same conditions; cart, completely open in front of me, etc. I know the course very well and I wasn't rushing. I just got a good rhythm going.
  14. Haha, I'm still laughing at this one. 135 yd, 60* wedge with a 5-10 yard draw. Haha, man that's good stuff.
  15. http://www.pgatour.com/2007/r/01/28/....ap/index.html That is an article that shows the dates for Nelson's streak. It couldn't have been consecutive weeks with the dates given. March 8-11, 1945 -> Aug. 2-4, 1945
  16. Haha, I also agree with this statement.
  17. No problem. I like seeing different thread topics also. But, this particular thread was not a question. You just, well, made an opinionated statement. To respond to this as if it were a question, I doubt they will ever play 72 different holes for an event like the US Open. Pinehurst already has the means to do so a couple of times over, but they use the #2 course for the US Open. By the way, it's FIJI. Not Fuji.
  18. I'm glad I'm not the only one that tractors are an issue at the golf course. haha
  19. I agree with this one as well. I also don't really see Vijay or Els in the "Big 4" anymore. Tiger and Phil are really the only two that are always in contention now. Or so it seems.
  20. Okay...... You have some interesting thread topics.
  21. Exactly. Given what I've heard him say in interviews, I can't really see him 'forcing' his daughter to play. Tiger wasn't forced, either. It was what he wanted to do and wanted to be great at. His parents just helped him to get there.
  22. I play most of my rounds alone. Mainly because no one will play as much as I do and I actually like going to other courses. I get tired of playing the same courses over and over and over. I take my Ipod and play away by myself all the time.
  23. I don't really buy that. All you need to know is how to distinguish what a solid shot feels like compared to a fat shot, thin shot, etc. That isn't very tough to do.
  24. This post made me chuckle.
  25. It's all personal preference. I've seen very few ranges that the grass is even remotely comparable to that you would find on a golf course. I don't really like practicing on loose turf/sand to work on keeping my swing mechanics in place. I generally choose hitting off a mat at the local driving range for practice. I know what it feels like to hit solid shots, fat shots, thin shots, toe shots, heel shots, so I am not concerned with a mat messing with my game. When I am warming up for a round at a course then I will hit from the grass tees.
