  1. I don't understand what the problem is...if you can hit it well, then by all means hit it. I don't think Tiger uses any hybrids. I use a 3h and don't even have a 2.. But then again I have been playing for 4 months
  2. Thanks again, gotta be consistent.
  3. Congrats!!!! I too have broken 100 a couple times, and have been golfing for about 4-5months. Keep at it, remember what you are doing right.
  4. Shindig, Thanks! The closest I have ever been on a par 3 is about 5yds from the pin, hit the green about 30% of the time so far.. Yours sounds like just the most perfect iron shot, set you up perfectly. I have yet to make an eagle/hole in one as well, so gotta just keep playing hard. Thanks for the responses from everyone else. Fried Egg your right, this doesn't belong in swing tips, so I will try to make it fit. What do any of you suggest would help in trying to maintain the most consistent swing?
  5. I was duck-hooking my driver for about a week, and I was freaking out because I couldn't figure out why. As for my iron shots, I was constantly topping them, resulting with low, long ball flight. I figured out that if I only swing to 3/4, I hit an incredibly accurate shot due to not over-rotating my shoulders and losing sight of the ball. I am now hitting apprx 250 with the driver, straight, and more comfortable than ever
  6. As the title says....sorry I am a little excited. Today I got my first birdie!!! It was a Par 4, 420yd slight dogleg left. I have been using my friends driver (older model Taylormade) b/c I have not taken ownership of my new one yet, and I was really just spanking the ball today off the tee. I am 22 and have been golfing for about 4-5months. I play once a week and sometimes get to the driving range once or twice a week. I have been improving very quickly thanks to golfing with friends who have been playing 10-12 years and can show me what I am doing wrong while on the course. Anyway, I drove the ball faar down the middle, cutting the dog leg and landing about 240-250yds on the right side. There are greenside bunkers on the right and left. I took a five iron a little too fast, and popped the ball about 10-15yds left of the pin in the middle of a bunker. I stroll up, take out my (new) Cleveland sand wedge, and swing. ...the ball gets up so softly, lands, and rolls slowly along the slope of the green... and dropped in the hole!!!! I was so pumped I yelled out and probably pissed a couple people off... I don't care though, they weren't makin any birdies, and I was! Anyway just wanted to share. Anyone else remember their first birdie/eagle/hole in one? I love this game.
  7. Thanks for the opinions... I am very much looking forward to trying it out.
  8. Nike. Izod Golf pants.
  9. SCOTTY!! Yeah, but if not the Newport then the Bettenardi Miz, so slick
  10. Just bought myself an early Xmas present. A 10* Stiff Callaway Fusion FT-i. I am pretty nervous considering I havn't tried it yet, but with the deal I got on it I am sure I can re-sell if need be.
  11. Thanks for the Golf Guru site!!!! I am so pumped to have more drills!!
  12. Good luck with your swing changes!!! I am still on my first swing, hoping it works out
  13. I am currently bidding on an FT-i on ebay right now. Do you guys recommend it for a beginner. I have been using my friends Taylormade, but recently started duck-hooking (is that right, when the ball goes about 75yds and screeches to the left?) due to some speed problems. I recently used my friends Nike SQ (reg. head), and I hit it so far and straight that I beat one of my buddies with a 95... He's been playing golf for 12 years, I have been playing for 6 months. This was on a TPC course here in Louisana, and I was using his driver. Anyhow I wanted to make clear that I do not mind shelling some money for a quality driver without testing it. I know I need a 10-10.5* Stiff (from a previous driver fitting), so everything else should work itself out..right? So the question was, do you think the FT-i would be a good club for a beginner who can drive it straight 40% of the time?
  14. I play rugby, and do pretty much everything else. But I like rugby
