  1. I don't think leaving a club behind and never seeing it again equates to something being stolen. Personally I turn stray clubs in if I find one, which is a rare occurance. That said never had anything stolen but I keep an eye on my gear. I don't unload the clubs from the car until I'm checked in and ready to go. From there I'm near my stuff, practice green, range etc. Though I doubt many would give my old Ping's a second look. I don't even carry a driver so not much temptation.
  2. Got up late, north metro Denver courses were packed. Tried to walk on as a single at Hyland Hills, couldn't get on. Played the south par 3 twice. Shot a 28 and a 30. That's a cool par 3.
  3. I will probably be the minority opinion here but IMO golf is golf. Yeah I know, how deep. I play all over the place from private clubs with speedy greens and long rough to muni par 3's with eight 50 yd holes and one 100 yd hole. I've never felt like getting out and playing was detrimental to my game no matter where it was. Today I played a local par 3 twice, had a blast. I simply make the adjustment as needed. Today I worked on my short game.
  4. It was exciting. Tiger closed it out with style, finesse and poise. Amazing how that course chewed people up. Rickie shooting 84 after being close to the top, woah.
  5. I've read a bunch of books but honestly get more from watching vids on youtube and taking it to the course for practice. An afternoon at the practice facility dialed me in and I honed it at the local par 3.
  6. Considering golf cargo shorts are "in" this season I don't think nice cargo shorts are a big deal. I've never seen any codes discouraging shorts just jeans and shirts with no collar. I wear my Adidas rugby gear, which happens to be cargo shorts, to the club my parents belong to and all is good.
  7. I like the new format of rotating co-host. I have no opinion about Erik, I've done worse than trying to pick up ladies in the office so I won't toss stones.
  8. Good for you and all involved, great and worthy cause. I'll bet you had a blast!
  9. Bummer, I wish you well. Any chance you can still enjoy the game with less effort? I have a 68 yr old buddy that has severe ailments and he keeps at it on the junior par 3. I'm out there with him, as are others.
  10. Like many I learned how to golf with blades back in the day. Later when options became limitless I went with what felt good and that led me to Ping. Currently playing G2's but have played most of the older Ping offerings at one time or another. Currently on the hunt for a nice set of copper Eye 2+. I also have a couple of sets of 845 Silver Scots. Kind of funny people consider Ping to be more forgiving now. Always been a game improvement club but certainly not for everybody. A lot of golfers I've encountered consider Ping's tough to hit and don't like the feel.
  11. IMO it's good for everything. The courses I frequent that don't enforce the dress code are without fail in the worst condition, beat tee boxes and ball marks all over the greens. Slow play is usually a problem as well. I'm not a golf elitist but I do think courses enforcing the dress code would be to the benefit of all involved. The respect gained by those that abuse it may lead to respecting the grounds as well as others on it.
  12. I don't have any technical explanation for why it works for me other than with the net I tend to be more consistent. It is easier to focus on the swing, timing, rhythm etc. rather than trying to make the ball go somewhere. Though I tend to hit well on the range too. But I can admit I feel "smoother" hitting balls into my home range with no outside distraction. I just need to learn how to take that with me to the course. Put me on the first tee and without fail I will try to crush it, even when I try not to I do. Weird.
  13. I typically work through a 30 min circuit in the AM that includes some lifts and some standards, jumping jacks, burpees etc. and some newer things like rope work and plyo. I followed that with 30 min of cardio on my Trixter X-Bike. I alternate upper and lower body days through Sat and take Sun off. I shoot to get the circuit and the spinning done in 1 hour with minimal rest, max of 30 seconds between moves.Though I do spin on Sun and usually walk for an hour just because it's part of my Sun routine. During the week I bike to work, 3.7 miles each way, doesn't take long and I like it. I walk through my lunch 30 min Mon-Sat and I often spin a little more in the evenings, 15 minutes or so. I wear a pedometer and shoot to get in 10k steps a day, easy on golf days. Makes me stand and get away from the desk. Something like this. Warm up 10-15 Burpees x4 30 jumping jacks x4 30 skater lunges x4 20 windmill stretches 2 min undulation rope x4 8-10 bench press x4 8-10 flyes x4 8-10 cable rows x4 12-15 fore arm curls x4 50-60 situps 30 minutes spin bike
  14. Only had time for a walk around the par 3 today but I took it as serious as I could, shot a 28. Spent more time practicing than playing due to the slow groups of junior golfers out there. Weird for a school day.
  15. Hello, TST noob here. Getting back into golf after a significant time away, stopped some time in the late 90's. So far so good, still love the game and excited to spend some time on the course this summer. I've been out a few times this spring and have enjoyed it a lot. I live in Denver so lots of golf here.
