Lifted weights for 30 minutes or so. Mostly back and bi's. Follow that up with a 20 minute run.

I shoot 106 at Silverhorn in San Antonio. Not great, but the first round of golf in months. The rough was so thick it was difficult to chip around the greens. The greens were very firm. Very tough conditions as a whole. Aside from a few bad mistakes, I feel I played OK. I think I should have been around 95 the way I was playing, but there were so many bad putts or bad bounces that pushed my ball OB.

Just a nice 280 yard drive down a tight fairway and onto the fairway. When I put myself in a nice position off the box, good things follow. I hit my next shot on the green and easy 2 putted for the par. That drive felt really good.

Hard to follow what is going on while at work. The live stream barely plays right now.. Tiger had trouble getting out of the bunker on the final hole. Watching iron shots for tee shots is boring. It is not what a major should be.

165 yard par 3, 7 iron to 3 feet. Always happy with any chance of a birdie on a 3. Unfortunately my friend trampled the area around the hole. I tried to clean it up but the ball moved as soon as it hit the area. Tap in par which should have been a birdie.

175 yard par 3, into the wind. Hit a nice shot that was going for the flag. A couple of hops, and a nice roll up to the flag. Not sure how it happened, but the ball ended up about a foot behind the flag. Can I be disappointed that it was not my first ace?

Lose the putter and his caddie and I would be a fan. I like the way he plays.

Not sure I can pick just one. So here is my best drive, approach, and putt. A 330 yard par 4 at La Cantara (San Antonio). Wind was helping, but I swung out of my feet. Hit a nice fade and rolled up on the green and stayed there. After a drive that landed in a heavy tree area well below the fairway and greens, I hit a PW from 125 yards away, I missed all trees and got it on the green. It rolled up and hit the pin. Tap in for birdie. Best putt, has to go to my first birdie. Good drive, ok approach shot that just rolled off the front of the green. What was left was a 45ish foot putt, off the fringe, up hill all the way with 2 breaks. Sunk it and cheered estatically.

2013 Valero Texas Open Thread (Beware - Spoilers)
preisman replied to Frank-0-Sport's topic in Tour Talk
I spent the weekend volunteering doing shot link. What a great view of the tournament. Sunday afternoon I got into a luxury box area right next to the pin. Front row view of some very exciting shots into the 18th green. That place was crazy. A ton of fans out there really cheering on their favorites. When Furyk made that eagle on the 18th that place was all roars during his 100 yard walk up to the green. It was a fun weekend. And it was nice to see the tourney from a tower on the greens. -
I bought 14 when it came out and have been playing nearly everyday. This is the best/most improved TW since they added Augusta National. I feel they made it much easier. I am playing at my usual difficulty setting from years past and I am doing much better than last year. I almost only play career mode, but going through time and playing though time is excellant. I love playing Augusta in 1934. I like the new courses, although I hate having to buy Colonial. A new course that you have to buy, that sucks. I have not had a playoff yet, but I am glad they added it. The courses look a lot better than even last years game. The golfers swing is more personal as well. Live tourney's are very interesting but still annoying having to compete against people who shoot -25 each round. NOT FUN. Live sun/night setting is cool. Playing courses at night is very interesting. They used to allow you to create your own course...as in selecting your favorite holes form all courses to create your own 18 hole course. I liked doing that and miss it. It would be nice to bring that back. Is there a coutry club set up for 360? I would not mind joining.

Great round for myself. Drove very well. Chipped good enough. The greens were much slower than anything I have played on in a long time. And I left many good putts short. This could have been better, but I could not adjust tot he slow greens. And only 2 lost balls, so that is a lot better than normal. Looking forward to building off this round.

Dang, that was not a good final group. Hope tomorrow is a bit better. Although, I am always happy to see Scott struggle some. -

Looks like a great field for an event I have never watched. I will be sure to catch as much as I can. Looking at pictures of the course and it looks like a fun one to play. Should be a fun event to watch. -
I had a downhill hooking putt around 25 feet. Very fast and hard to read. Took my time and rolled it in to save par.

I am all for making it a tougher course. I do not know what exactly is going to be changed, but from what I heard over the weekend it does not seem to drastic. I like the idea of having water in play for a few holes. Extending teh first hole is fine and bring water in play next to the green should make the first hole tougher and not an "easy" birdie. Making the 15th an island green is a big change and not sure I like it. The changes around 9 and 10 is fine with me, but I do not think 10 needs to be over wter so much. They are not changing the 18 which is good. And adding elevation in the rough to make is better to view the players is a nice idea. Plus, if could eliminate the bail out areas forcing players to try and hit the fairways by hitting a more accurate drive or laying up. Just my thoughts but I would love to see the new layout to see all the changes. -
24 birdies in 3 days. Damn good job!

Love watching Tiger when he is driving so well and putting like no others.

Tiger is scoring more birds than everything else. This man is dangerous!

Good round from Tiger, if he continues playing this good he will have a great week.

Golf clothing is overpriced

I have plenty of cheap off brand polos and I have a couple of nice Nike polos. And I almost always wear the Nike stuff. They are just better. More confort overall. I have a $15 polo that the collar never stays down in the wind. Do you know how annoying it is to have your collar flap up in your face mid swing? It sucks. I also have another that sucks at moisture wicking. In the summer here it gets over 100 degrees and I need something that can handle the heat. So, as I do have cheap and high end polos, I perfer the top Nike shirts. As for shorts/pants, I stick with the cheap stuff. Most places I play are not opposed to cargo shorts so I wear those. I have a pair of Nike shorts and pants, but got them for $25. And I just ordered a pair of IJP pants. I can't wait to try those out. I got them for $50, and I think most people would spend that much on a nice pair of troussers. Are prices getting high, yes, but the quality is also improving. As long as the product is great I am fine spending $50 on a polo. Some of the designer stuff that is over $100, well that is designer and more like anything else that is designer. But, I think we would all find top quality clothes for less than $50 if you are patient. There are always sales. -

I love watches and I have quite a few. I see a watch is more than something that tells time. I have a particular watch that is very light and small. It is easy to read and not distracting. It is never a problem with my swing. But, if I am not wearing that watch, I remove the one I am wearing. When I first bought my Tag I always wore it and found out quickly that is was not good to play golf with. It is pretty heavy and the crown would jab my wrist. It is also stainless steel so it was not comfortable when it was hot.
