  1. haven't had a chance to hit them yet. looking forward to it, but the weather isn't cooperating right now. might hit the heated range tomorrow though.
  2. down to only 2 right now... Titleist 735.cm 3-PW, Project X 6.5 Mizuno MP-68 3-PW, KBS Tour X
  3. last 18 hole round... TW Zoom Air shoes, White Under Armour no-show socks Nike Dri-Fit Tour shorts, dark blue with pinstripes J. Lindeberg Slater Pro white belt Nike Dri-Fit shirt, pink Cobra military hat, white (like Camilo wears) earlier when i played 9: same shoes and belt as 18 hole round Adidas 3-stripe shorts, grey Adidas Clima-cool shirt, kelly green and white
  4. played TPC Deere Run a few days after the tournament last year and shot 74 from the TPC tees. played Whistling Straits after the Sr. US Open and shot 78. its amazing the set-ups these players shoot the low scores on. putting isn't too bad once you get the speed down because the greens putt so true and are in such good condition. the rough is usually where they seperate the men from the boys, miss a fairway by more then 2 or 3 yds. and you might as well forget about hitting anything more than a 8i.
  5. i had a run-in a few years ago where someone actually took my driver out of my bag on the range and was hitting it... it was witnessed by several people and the guy actually threatened to call the cops when i grabbed it out of his hands. anyways... since then i've used non-stock headcovers... right now i have a Black-face Sheep headcover from Whistling Straits on my driver.
  6. how busy is #4 usually? i'm off work until July 27 and thinking about heading up there alone and don't really want a 3 hour drive there to play a 6.5 hour round of golf.
  7. i carry 3 wedges... PW, 58*, and 64*. this combo works great for me.:)
  8. played the Irish Course at Whistling Straits... i honestly think this course is as good or better than the Straits Course. anyways... played the back tees (75.6/146 7201yds.). played pretty good... even par 72 (36-36). 10/14 fairways, 10GIR, and 27 putts. on in 2 on 2 of the par 5s with a 2 iron, went long in 2 on another par 5 with a 5 iron, and on the last par 5, 18 i missed pin high right with a 6 iron.
  9. Erin Hills doesn't open until July 1st this year. Kohler is great, Whistling Straits runs $340 (caddie included) + tax. the Irish course is $160. Blackwolf Run is great too if you like tight target golf, they're running a composite course there this year to get ready for the Womens US Open next year and i think that runs $165 a round... you play 1-9 on the Meadows Valley course and 5-13 on the River course. Def. try to get to Whistling Straits, either course is great, if you can. i make it up there a few time a year and it is amazing every time. :)
  10. not the greatest in terms of score... last year i played Whistling Straits (Straits Course) with a father and son from South Africa. the son was 10 and put up a 79. zero flaws in his game, everything was straight and on target, could putt the lights out too. i wish i remembered his name because once this kid gets some length i'm sure he'll play on the European Tour or something someday. earlier this year i shot a 68 (not my lowest score) but with the conditions it was pretty amazing, i had a stretch on the back 9 where i was -5 on 4 holes. eagled a par 5, drive left me 230yds. hit a low 2i to 10 feet and made eagle... next hole, par 3 i nearly aced it with a 4i, kick in birdie... next hole, short par 4, i knocked a LW to 3 feet and made birdie... the following hole a medium lenght par 4 i hit a 8i to within 20 feet and made the putt for a birdie. the thing that was amazing was the fact that i was playing in a 25-30mph wind in horrible conditions... my playing partner normally shoots in the low 80s shot over 100.
  11. i get paired with a jerk atleast once a year. last year i was paired with a group whom had no regard for anyone else... picking up and taking other peoples balls, driving the cart onto the green, no real etiquitte at all, they were playing the middle tees and i was playing the tips. i had a pretty good round going... i was a few under, i had "honors" on every hole. i'd be on the tee lining up my shot, they'd hop up right in front of me and tee off... after a few holes i was tired of it, i placed my tee in the ground and set up, they walked right in front of me so i bluntly told them that unless they want to visit a proctologist to have a golf ball removed from their ass get the hell outta the way. needless to say they moved.
  12. i play roughly 90-106 holes of golf a week. my wife works until 7pm as a nurse during the week, i'm off at 3 everyday... just enough time for me to squeeze in 18 and hit the practice green for a little while. i'll practice my mid-iron to woods maybe once a week off the course, as much as i play i get most my needed practice on the course... generally i'll play the ball i'm scoring, but drop another at certain points on the course i feel i need improvement and hit specific shots.
  13. i have to 2nd GPP, i get most of my golf apparel from them, great customer service and extremely fast shipping.
  14. played a par 29 course in Champaign, IL yesterday. didn't do too bad, not nearly as good as i would have liked. -2, 27. 7/9 GIR. most holes are in the 100-130yd. range, one was 180yds. and the par 4's were something like 280yds. and 315 yds., both doglegs so distance to the green on each if you cut the dogleg was like 250 and 280 respectively.... i hit a 2i on the 280yd. hole and got on the green in 1 and 2 putted from like 15 feet, on the 315yd. hole i hit a 3w and nearly holed it, it hit the flagstick and rolled to 10-15 feet. my ballstriking was really good, my misses weren't bad at all.
  15. i carry 2 Vokey wedges... 58* and 64*. i put a Project X 6.5 (x-stiff) in my 58* and in my 64* i put in a X100. i may go to a Project X 7.0 in both of them before the end of the season.
