Mizuno MP series, great line front to back!
-
Does Lost Ball know how intelligent he just sounded?
-
Interesting, thanks for the link and info!! How do you like yours?
-
Yes I saw that as well (which only added to the confusion of what I heard). Perhaps this year is to be the last and explains what I've heard from my supposedly reliable sources.
-
Does anyone know with certainty that Mizuno discontinued the MP-32 line of irons? I have heard yes and no. Thanks in advance!

Really man, asking a bunch of guys what kind of underwear they wear? There aren't any other questions you have for this forum of golfers? None whatsoever? I'd truly rather spend an hour discussing the ins and outs of my favorite color topped off with a weekend marathon on why my lucky number is better than yours, than to seriously engage this one. But to each his own I guess

Raptor was always the better track, but I heard they flipped 9s this year and they're mixed now. Not sure I haven't seen it since this was done.

It's too detailed a situation to provide in this forum (typing), but essentially we caught a guy trying to change his team's score on the card after he'd seen the leaderboard in the clubhouse. We asked him about the messy/scratched out scores on the card, he played dumb. We asked the guy on his team separately who was the one who's score was changed (by the first guy who was the score keeper) and he told the truth that his score on those holes was the one that had been scratched out (replaced with a better number). Lots of discussion and time wasted in my opinion then ensued for no reason other than aggravation and argument sake. If we followed this rule, it would have been simple: DQ and goodbye! But I understand the aversion to the rule in genuine error situations that happen in life and golf.

I'm going to go with Eldrich (spelling?)

I'm 6'3" and having been fitted for irons in the past, the max I have been recommended to add is a 1/2" and though provided as an option my fitters have not seemed to be really taken by the idea. It was presented as, "well you could add a 1/2" if you want." Not convincing enough for me. Maybe you're taller and it would help, but some of the others are right about what else it impacts. Good luck!

It is quite funny to look back at some posts now that we're in mid-January...seriously high comedy! Thanks folks! GO PATS!
-
I agreed with this as well, but I was witness to an odd occurrence this past summer where I felt the DQ was just and appropriate. Not sure how I feel about it now, perhaps the Committee should have discretion.

http://www.golfweek.com/foryourgame/...es_news_062406 Also, there's a more recent article by Achenbach in the Golfweek issue before the "noose" one that has good detail. The article does not yet appear to be posted to the online format right now.

Golfweek without a doubt for me. My club has Golf World, so I can read it there, but with my money, Golfweek. It's a very different publication than say, GD or GM. While I get those too, I think their tagline is accurate. Golfweek is for the serious golfer.

Spike marks on greens...awful rule.
-
I have always subscribed to taking some time off while playing bad, especially if trying to play through it isn't working.
-
After college unfortunately Soooo many years wasted.

Serious golfers, IMHO, have a USGA/GHIN official handicap. I have numerous friends, acquaintances, what have you, that play golf but do not keep their handicap this way. How are you supposed to compete? Have matches? If you can't show me a card/sticker with your scores, or I can't look them up online, don't even bother asking about a game. Is the $30 / year really going to break the bank? Or are you just that lazy? It's the latter for the guys I know..still no excuse. I can't be the first person to share this quote on this thread: Judge Smails: Ty, what did you shoot today? Ty Webb: Oh, Judge, I don't keep score. Judge Smails: Then how do you measure yourself with other golfers? Ty Webb: By height.

The reason you haven't seen anyone putt good with them is because only bad putters use them, and they are still a bad putter using another piece of equipment :)
-
Interesting, I didn't know those two. Without knowing that, I always thought of those two guys as 'bad' putters. I know Singh had a good streak of recent years, but they both have been looking awful as of late. I also think Stewart's fumbles are well documented (US Open). I'm not sure what the stats say, but will check now. I think people who believe it is an unfair advantage are generally people who are good putters (conventional) themselves and they believe the alternative equip/method provides an edge to the 'bad' putter. The alternative approach would not help the 'good' putter regain any edge.
-
I voted yes, but I'm not sure I feel strongly about it. People who use alternative putters/methods, do so generally because they are not good putters and are seeking solutions to what lacks them with the conventional putter/method. In many cases, if you are a bad putter, you're a bad putter simple and clean and no equipment or method will fix this for you (within current rules). I think it can help at times, but ultimately much will remain unchanged. (Conventional) Putting is arguably the easiest part of golf, and furthermore with all the other things pros are able to do to the golf ball (control) with other clubs, it seems to reason that with practice, training and repetition, one should be able to improve with the conventional method. However, most people (pros) cannot do this and continue to waver between methods and equipment seeking something, in my opinion, that they will never find.

I think the US Open, sometime around mid teens (1915?) not sure on date.

Taylor made is correct. I don't believe that's the date though Curtis Strange US Open, Brookline,MA I was informed.
