  1. Eric was already nice enough to give me a good answer to a question about an hour ago, but reading the short swing thread made me think of something. A couple of days ago, I think, I saw Eric refer to the modern swing as a width swing. Someone in the short swing thread said get your club to 90 degrees and hinge the right elbow, which I agree with, although this feels much different than the way I set the club if I make a longer one piece take away. I don't know if it would require a crazy long explanation, but what do you guys think the difference are, and relative advantages of each approach. Sorry if I misunderstood what you said Eric, I hope my question was clear enough.
  2. Thanks man, I think that's a good call about the left leg, I think I'll try to calm that down a little.
  3. Yeah, I think most people start out working out for girls, or to just to gain self confidence. After a while, many people actually start enjoying the process. I guess the golf analogy might be like enjoying practice, enjoying the process of getting better.
  4. Eric, is that what creates the "spinning out" move? I think I have that and I think it causes me to hit pushes, push cuts, and even pull cuts.
  5. I think trying to imitate a certain players tempo could be effective.
  6. Ha ha, I had trouble with the bio section of my personal training certification test, so much memorizing. Thanks for the vote of confidence though:)
  7. Glad to hear the lasix worked I would try to make the trt work if you can. Better living through science
  8. Mike I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure bloating is a side effect of testosterone maybe you could try a natural diuretic
  9. I was already irritated by a scumbag I just dealt with in my personal life so hearing that pissed me off. Sorry about that but I'm sure karma has something really bad waiting for that gentleman. I even had to edit my first post because it was to harsh.
  10. Pm me if you don't mind, I love learning new stuff about s&c;, thanks in advance.
  11. I agree with TN, this is a cool link about flexibility and strength, backed up by research. http://www.charlespoliquin.com/Blog/tabid/130/EntryId/406/Tip-95-Strength-training-shown-to-increase-flexibility.aspx . Tn, what site do you look at for diet info?
  12. Secondary, I like how you program your training, do you do sprint workouts?
  13. I should have beem more clear, at 114 insurance has no choice but to cover. My point was that the normal range is too broad and if you are on the low end of normal, which still creates problems, insurance and doctors will usually try to claim you are still in healthy ranges. Healthy is kind of a subjective term and I would say optimal is a better idea to look for. I'm glad you feel better and happy with your experience. I also, only through reading and observation, believe that the gel is much less efficient than the injections, but I don't know exactly, maybe people with experience can shed ome light.
  14. I think going the natural route to increase test levels is a great idea. I have no affiliation with Charles poliquin but as an avid reader of his material, and observer of the results he gets, I believe his supplement program is the most effective and proven program to produce results. The major problem, IMO, is that going the natural route, and buying quality supplements is just so much more expensive than drugs. I believe the drug companies are so powerful we are led to believe by doctors that we can't produce drug like results with quality supplements and food. Just decreasing body fat and strength training, and eating certain types of fats is shown to create a favorable hormonal environment. Estrogen binds to fat cells, so the less fat you carry, the more favorable the hormonal environment you can create.
  15. One problem I've seen is that general practioners are ignorant as hell when it comes to hormones, if something isn't way out of range they leave it alone. The normal ranges for test levels are between 1000 all the way down to 400 ng/dl of blood. My dad was tested at 430 and asked for a replacement dosage and was denied by his general. His point was that he wanted to be in normal range, but on the high side, finally the doctor relented and gave my dad 100 mg of test enanthate every three weeks, which if you know about this stuff, is far, far to infrequent a dose. You need at least weekly injections, probably about 50 mg of a long acting Esther a week. If you wait three weeks you levels will spike up and down. While some doctors abuse trt, and prescribe like 400 mg a week along with hgh, I think the best idea is to find a reputable endocrinologist and consult with him or her. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be on the high side of normal, and plenty of research points to this improving most major health markers. The drawback, insurance will fight you like hell to pay for it. I think my dad, out of pocket, pays 100 bucks a month, still cheaper than Viagra.
  16. Ms, I will read that thread. Thanks
  17. Hy cipher, I was wondering if you have ever examined your shaft flex. I was noticing you really load the shaft and its pretty bent on the way down. I have noticed it with my swing also and I don't know if its a significant factor in ball contact, I haven't read your whole thread and sorry If this is off topic or already been addressed.
  18. If you go to the waverlywoods.com web site, there is an instructor named George bradford who plays on the Canadian tour. Watching him strike the ball is amazing, he also is a very good teacher and super friendly. I've not taken lessons from him, but I've seen him turn some pretty bad swings good.
  19. I was reading the thread about guys with unorthodox swings, I was thinking that a thread of examples of guys that really demonstrate mastery of one particular key. For example, Ben Hogan has the steadiest head, and best weight distribution at impact it seems to me. I was also thinking because of his freakish ability to shape shots, Bubba Watson might be a good example of clubface control. Sorry if this has been done and I missed it.
  20. Rick, I agree, and try to only work on one thing at once, it's been strictly posture the few times I've hit balls in the last year
  21. Do you think the idea of the right handed take away is a good way to keep connected eric
  22. Thanks Rick, I looked at that web site, and there is a lot to digest, I think I ill start with the right arm takeaway, to stay more connected. Lately, I've been only focused on posture and knee flexion. Thanks for the nice words.
  23. Thanks for all of the looks Rick, I'll check out that site. I believe you're correct about getting separated, it seems as I work on one thing, another, that I thought was good goes wrong again, thanks though man.
