  1. Here is what the rules say. Same thing at course I play regularly. # 2 a dogleg left par 5 runs parallel to hole #4. Its out of bounds for either hole. There is another hole on the back that is the same way. The course if a firing range though. You really need a hard hat out there.
  2. Sign me up for sure. Slow play has got to stop. Today was the worst round of golf I've suffered through in a long time. It was at the course Eric just posted the review of. Eaglesticks in zanesville, ohio. We had a group of 12 guys with our first tee time at 9:30. Now I understand its a holiday so we all expected some slow play. I tee off in the first group at almost 9:30 on the dot. We finally pull up to the club house at 3:30. A 6 hour round on a short course. No rangers out, no nothing just way too many golfers packed on the course playing way too slow. The pro was not in when we finally finished so I couldn't tell him how disappointed I was with the round. He'll get a phone call tomorrow though. Probably will not mean squat but I'll feel better.
  3. Most common lie has to be " Honey I'll be working late again tonight " I also agree with the par 5 hopefuls. If you only hit your drive 220 no way you're smoking that 3 wood 310 to the hole. Hit the ball already. In our tuesday night league the first hole on the back 9 is a 410 yard par 4 with a tight fairway that runs downhill into a creek about 90 yards from the geen. My opponet tops his tee shot about 50 yards, hits his second and advances the ball another 50 yards. He still has over 300 to the hole and he is waiting on the green to clear!! Hell he still needs to hit it 220 to clear the water comfortably. Inevitably we wait 5 minutes for the green to clear and he hits this beatuiful screaming 3 wood about 6 feet high straight into the creek. Only way could have been better is if he told me he made bogey instead of 8.
  4. Remember the Memorial tournament in 2004. The course was loaded up with them. Didn't seem to effect the tournament too much. They really don't bother you too much unless you start shaking tree limbs. Then they just climb all over you. Nohting to worry about really.
  5. I know the feeling for sure. Luckily my wife works for an insurance company in town and they have a deal where they can get range tickets for half price. Thats helps out quite a bit.
  6. Played in our 9 hole league last tuesday. Shot 41 with 20 putts!! I definitely think my ball is afraid of the dark. I really feel like I'm making a good stroke but I just can't find the bottom of the cup.
  7. Small (25-30) $4.00 Medium (75-80) $7.00 Large (125-130) $9.00 Jumbo (175-180) $11.00 This is the only stand alone range within about 45 minutes of us. They have a practice green and 2 bunkers you can hit from. Place is always packed. You can get a seasonal membership for $300
  8. The oil can finish is made to wear off the clubs. After that they will start to rust a little bit. If you hit enough balls the face should stay fairly clean. If you dont care for the rust look, a little steel wool should clean it up.
  9. Here you go. http://www.titleist.com/historical_c...ory.asp?cat=if Should find some help here.
  10. I'd bet there are probably some pretty decent side bets going on that don't get covered in the news. I'd say it must mean alot for these guys to be there playing, otherwise would tiger not be out with his ailing father instead of a simple club rivalry?
  11. Hmm doesn't paly for me. Says real media player needs an update, searches but doesn't find one?? Maybe its just my computer though? Here is another free video host you can try if that one doesn't work. http://www.zippyvideos.com/
  12. Well glad to hear the 775's look better in person. I haven't had a chance to see them yet but the pics were not making me crazy about them. I'd love to get something new this spring but I just can not make up my mind. I'll probably stick with titleist but can't decide between the 735's the 695 cb's or the the 775's. I've been playing the titleist 990b's. They are the players version of the 990's. Less offset and bounce. The actually have alot less offset than some of the newer blades. Just need to get out and hit each one and see which one feels the best I guess.
  13. Well if those knock the 735's out of you bag be sure to let me know. I'll be interested to see how you like them once you get a little swing time with them. Not sure I could use the pipe putter. It just does nothing for me visually. I guess if I was draining everything I could change my mind though.
  14. This may sound opposite of what you would think but if you're hitting off the hosel you need to move closer to the ball. The next time you go out do everything else the same but just step back in where you were before you backed off the ball.
  15. I know I always tend to play better with better players. Its especially tough to watch a great player struggle. I don't think that does much for the confidence of anyone in the group.
  16. Ok what the hell was that. 65 on thrusday and 83 today to miss the cut. He took a 9 on his last hole of the day. That had to be hard for Furyk to watch all day. Talk about a game of opposites. Can't wait to hear some of post round interviews.
  17. I don't like to give advice or take advice on the course. I'd like to think I know enough about my swing to know when something is wrong. That doesn't always mean I can fix it right away but I sure don't need joe blow guessing and giving tips to help. Now in a friendly golf league I play in we play a match play for half of the league. Unsolicited swing tips can be your friend. Just something simple after they make a bad swing like " man that swing looked pretty steep, maybe you should try to shallow that out." Or if there is trouble on a hole as you're walking up comment on how you can never stay away from that lake or bunker ect. Just get them thinking about it. Now this is just a friendly league not a sanctioned competition or anything so its ok to screw around a little.
  18. Can't say those impress me. You'd have to be a bit ignorant to lay there and take that.
  19. Happy belated birthday eric. Hope you had a great day. Now if this weather would straighten out a bit we'll be all set. I've been an organ donor ever since I got my license. I always figured if I were to pass away I certainly won't be needing them so hopefully someone could benefit from my departure. Giving blood is a great way to help out as well.
  20. Nothing immediate but the delivery went way to easy. I don't think the wife was put off by it at all. She never really had any pain at all until about the last 20 minutes or so. That certainly makes me think she'll be willing to go through that again. She went in to the doctors tue. for a test where they monitor the baby's heartbeat and such. The nurse came in and ask her if she was feeling ok. She said yes fine, why? The nurse said to hold on while she went to get the doctor. Doc came in and said she was having contractions that were 3-5 minutes apart. Checked her and she was dialated to 3cm. Sent her to the hospital immediately for observation. Well they put her on fluids to try and slow them down to see if it would stop. They checked her a 6pm and she was dialated to 4cm. They called the doc back and she said take her to labor and delivery, break her water and give her potossin to help speed things along. After all that they checked her at 9pm she was at 6cm. Checked her again at 10pm and she was all the way ready to go. Doc was still 15 minutes away. Nurse was adament about not pushing so she didn't have to deliver the baby. Doc came in at 10:15 and we had a baby at 10:36. It was all way too easy. We were all prepared for a long night but to our surprise she came very quick. All was great at the doctor today and abigail is eating great so things are looking good. Sorry Rafcin driver won't be for sale for awhile. I keep telling the wife this would be the perfect time for her to buy me a Scotty Cameron My Girl putter to commerate the birth of our daughter. She said it was a good try but didn't quite buy into it though. Thanks for the thoughts everyone.
  21. Howdy folks. I've been away for a few days for some unexpected reasons. Our first child Abigail Olivia was born tuesday. She was about 4 1/2 weeks early so we were a bit surprised to say the least. She was 4lbs 14ozs and was 18 inches long. Mom and baby are both doing great. No problems at all. Here is a site that has a few pictures. http://www.abigailolivia.kklick.com/index.html We are off in about an hour for the first doctors appointment.

    Natalie Gulbis

We love Natalie for her great golf talent thats it I swear.
  23. Didn't start playing until about 6 years ago. I started working at a lumber yard and some buddies talked me into palying in the company golf league. Got hooked and try to play as much as possible now.
  24. Tiger hasn't hit a fairway yet today but he is still making birdies. Doesn't look like tiger is going to give it up today and it doesn't look like anyone is playing to catch him yet. Phil is trying to shoot 80 the way it looks. Just bogeyed 8 with one in the water then dunked his tee shot on 9 in the water. Probably at least bogey. For someone with such talent I think he needs a head doctor to keep him in the final rounds.
  25. So I'm guessing callaway is your favorite? Well I'm sure you've seen the new club callaway is coming out with. Supposed to be great for digging out of the rough and espically good for digging out those burried lies from bunkers. Just in case you missed it I found a picture of it for you. I'm sorry I couldn't resist that. I really don't mind callaway clubs. In fact they would probably benefit my game a bit. The only thing I've never really cared for about the callawy line is the size of their irons.
