    Billiards, Anyone

Used to go to the bar and play about everyday after work. Well marriage has settled that down a bit though. My favorite advice no matter the shot, "What ever you do hit it really really hard." That advice usually works well to distract your opponet on the tee box as well.

    2005 NFL Season

But did you see last weeks steeler/bengals game. Rothelesburger was back in the game and they got their butts handed to them by the bengals. Honestly I think the steelers have a good chance of missing the playoffs. What I don't get is how they are favored over the bears this weekend. bears win 8 straight (with no offense) steelers loose 3 in a row. How do you give them 5 1/2 points over the bears?
  4. Well I've never been a smoker but as others have mentioned have had a cigar or 2 on the course. Just doesn't work for me. Proves more of a distraction than any kind of help. With that said I really don't care if others around me smoke. If thats their perogative then so be it. I don't let it get to me. I live in ohio and local smoking bans have become rampant. I believe there is something on the ballot now for a state wide ban. I really wouldn't be surprised to see it happen. I can understand banning smoking in restraunts but banning smoking in bars is going too far. Now granted I don't smoke and typically don't enjoy all of the smoke in a bar I'm not going to tell everyone else they can't smoke. I think smoking and drinking in bars goes hand in hand so let them have it. If they want to ban it indoors I say let them have it outdoors even if its on the course. Just don't make a mess of it.
  5. I'm looking forward to this show as well. Nothing like a tour pro that will tell it like it is. Should be a pretty good show.
  6. Those above stats show if sergio could put he'd probably be on top of the tour. top 10 in gir and driving distance and bottom of putting. He's still in the top 10 on the money list but if he could put he'd probably be right there with tiger. On another note, we have a guy I work with that was a former club pro and scratch golfer. A few coworkers and I decided on a bet with him we all assumed to be fair. He could pick any 3 clubs and we would get all of ours. He took a 3 iron, 7 iron and a wedge. (putted with his 3 iron) We played 18 holes. The course stats 6875 from the back tees. rating/slope 72.3/128 Well lets just say we got whipped. He shot 1 under on the front and 2 under on the back. With that said good iron play can make up for alot of driving errors. That round really started making me think about my tee shots. I would usually just pull out driver and rip away and hope for the best. After that little display I decided a little more accuracy would be much more important than the extra yards.
  7. If I was paul I think I'd have wrapped tj's wedge right around his neck. Now I'm no scratch golfer but christ I could have got closer than that with my eyes closed. I love the show and the concept but these guys seem to be the worst they have had on. The first few shows I figured it was probably just nerves but they're not getting better. Paul has been consistent clear through and should definitely be a favorite to win. I really loved when paul pulled that driver and then put it back in the bag. He knew that their ego would kick in and they'd pull driver. That has to be the best bit I've seen on the show. All time classic
  8. link seems to be expired.
  9. Must have been a fluke. Haven't been able to get another quite that low.
  10. I'll be interested to see how you like them. I've got a buddy who plays some newer hogans and swears by them. Right now I've got a set of titleist 990b irons. They are probably a bit too unforgiving for my ability but the price was right. I've been weighing my options as of late so I'd be glad to see a review once you play them a bit.
  11. Well no golf for me this weekend. We had snow and cold most of the weekend. Warming today though with a high in the 50's tomorrow and almost 70 by monday. May try to get out if the rain holds off. Made it out last weekend for what we thought would be the last round of the year. But hey in ohio we can go from 25 to 70 in a few days so I never give up hope.

    Wie a Choker?

I'd say still too early to tell. I mean she just missed the cut in japan by one stroke. Guess I'd have to say she choked though. Played pretty good all through and then blew it in the last 4 or 5 holes. I still hold the contention that she will make a cut on the pga tour. I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen this year. I think for someone so young to have that much natural talent is very amazing. Very tigeresque. She has the talent and I think the nerve will come. I think thats where tiger was differnet though. He had the attitude that he couldn't be beat and wasn't afraid to play that way. If michelle could catch a bit of that mentality she'd be unstoppable.
  13. Her mom was there though. I thought that was good. I also saw the playing lessons episode with her and at that point I thought her dad was a bit out there. I think if she keeps hanging around butch he'll say look ditch the dad or find another instructor. It would be hard to have to cope with that all day long. I think she has potential to win but seems to lack the nerve to close the deal. She seems to make alot of mental errors under pressure. I'm sure she'll have her day though.
  14. Ok I think I got the hang of it. Great game by the way.
  15. Well personally I'd love to have Daly as my first pick. He is the real peoples person. I've followed john a few times at the memorial and he is a real hoot. He seems to cut up quite a bit in his practice rounds. Number 2 pick would be Wie. I think she is the one female right now that can change alot of things in golf. She just missed the cut in japan by one but she should have been there. A little pressure still weighing heavy but I think she'll make a cut on the pga soon. I'd love to say I played with one of the up and coming golf phenoms in all of golf. number three is a toss up. I'd love to play with craig stradler. I think he would make for an interesting round. Phil would have to be right there too though. Maybe he could teach me to miss those important 3 footers. lol One other that I'd hate to leave out is Norman. One of games greats that doesn't get alot of recognition anymore. These would be my picks aside from the obvious tiger, jack, arnie.
  16. I'm the supervisor for a custom millwork shop. We build about anything and everything out of wood. As for the first post where it states that state farm has alot of golfers, I can vouch for that. My wife works for state farm and I play on their golf league. Pretty good group of guys.
  17. Howdy folks, Looks like a great forum you've got here. I thought I was actually already signed up but couldn't find my username or password. Oh well none the less I'm here now. Looks like alot of like minded folks around here. Glad to be aboard. Kevin
