  1. Bought a 48* 588 earlier this year in hopes of it being like my trusty old Cleveland 900. Not.even.close. Traded a guy for a Vokey.............WIN!
  2. PW( mine is 44 degrees, really a 9 iron) : 135 48* wedge: 125 52* wedge: 110 56* wedge: 95-100 I don't call wedges by gap wedge, sand wedge, lob wedge because I use all of them interchangeably. Add to that whether the club is square or opened and the yardages change drastically.
  3. Hillbilly? Bigot...
  4. 68
  5. Yeah it's pretty stupid-looking. That and the sunglasses hung on the back of your shirt. And this old favorite:
  6. If I'm in a spot where another golfer can hit me, I'm always watching out. I think that is part of your responsibility for being out there. However, purposely hitting into me will be met with bad results. There is a difference and you can tell.
  7. Ouch! Rode a Metric century yesterday. 3rd one in the past two years plus one real century :)
  8. 2. That's only because I haven't sold the old ones. I play one set and one set only. Don't know you you can play more than one and find any consistency in your game.
  9. Hit them and see...
  10. Looks like they rounded out the milling. Big difference? Seems to make sense if you think about it. Will see.
  11. I always go back to this: -Get new putter. -Practice more because of new putter. -Putting improves. Is it the putter or the practice? Both? Would the same thing have happened with the old putter? One thing is for sure, you can't say the practice made you worse. That is also what I contribute to a "long putter making someone putt better". It's the practice...
  12. My personal opinion is if you can putt, you can putt with about anything. But if you are in the rough all day you're going to be putting for higher scores. But as with most stupid posts.....why does it have to be either/or? Do both. Close this thread :)
  13. Cleveland CG16 and CG16 Tours. One hit and you will be sold. Great feel, forgiveness and yet workability. What more can you ask for? Oh, yeah they're cheap too.
  14. Don't overlook the Cleveland CG16 and CG16Tours. Just one hit and you too will know...
  15. Nylon bristles are usually too long/soft to get the job done properly. I use a brass brush after nearly every shot. The tip of a tee works well also but brush is faster. Bag clatter just makes them look good in my opinion.
  16. 1) Go hit clubs 2) Buy the ones you like/hit the best 3) Buy from the people that have the clubs you hit(otherwise you are abusing their services) Or Buy something you think you like online. Dislike them. Try to sell them and can't. Repeat many times.
  17. Cleveland CG16 or CG16 Tour. Great all-around irons and right now... cheap....$399. But whatever you get, rely on YOU and not someone else. Hit many and narrow the selection down and get WHAT YOU HIT WELL not what someone else hits well.
  18. Very surprised by them. Long(although that is relative and creates other problems). But the feel and workability was what sold me.
  19. Just FYI. I bought a new set of irons for $399. Look around before jumping the gun. Now is a great time to get some deals.
  20. Feel is about all I go on. Monitor schmonitor! I make sure I can work them and they feel good. Other than that I could give a rat's xxx what a monitor says. Distance is relative. Who cares how far the ball goes with a particular iron as long as you have all the distances you need covered. Wound up with Cleveland CG16s myself also. Great-feeling clubs.
  21. Obligatory garage door photo:
  22. Hate is a crime. Another word please. The Mods should delete any thread started like this.
  23. $23 is not free. They can call it what they want but that isn't free. Shipping might be $12.
