I broke my phone, and its a weird story lol. I lined up for a punch shot, opened my clubhead a bit and hit the tree, and then the ball bounced back and hit me in the leg. I forgot I had my phone in my pocket so I dismissed it as my wallet or something. I pull out my phone at the end of the round and there is a golf ball sized spot on the screen where the color was all screwed up.

I really think people think WAY too much about their swing, they lose focus and worry about how they're swinging instead of making impact with the ball. I feel like I hit better when I clear my mind and just focus on the ball.

So today we had a practice match, and I landed my ball on the green from 150 out. I repaired my ball mark and then went to mark my ball. When I picked up my ball I noticed it had mud on it so I grabbed my towel and cleaned it off. My partner told me "You know that is a stroke penalty, right?" I disagreed and told him that I can clean off my ball if it was lying on the green, and I marked it. He proceeded to tell me that it would be a penalty, but never enforced it. I forgot to ask my coach before I left so I just decided to come and ask you guys if I was right. A second question also, if a ball has mud on it but is not on the green, can I clean off my ball as long as I marked where it last was? And if I can do I need to ask my playing partners first?

I shot absolutely awful today. We had a match on a new course and played the harder back 9. Lots of hills and doglegs. I shot a 57 because I couldn't hit a ball straight to save my life. But the bright side is I had one of the greatest shots of my life, I left the other team's coach speechless. Hell, everyone that saw it was speechless. I was down in a valley, my feet halfway on a cart path, and there was a tree I had to hit a draw around (I'm wrong handed just so you know). 180 out and the green is 20 yards or so up so I hit my 6 iron. I then make perfect contact and see the ball bend around the tree, then just disappear. I knew it was on line and just from their reactions I knew I was on the green. Bogeyed the hole though, but if it wasn't for that shot I could of been screwed.

People who sit there and tally up their circle 10 or double par while we're waiting to hit on the green. Like seriously, I thought it was commonly known that you add up scores on the next tee box. People who spend 15 to 20 minutes looking for a ball. Just the other day we had our match get held up because the 2's spent 20 minutes looking for some guy's ball. Its not a serious match, so most people would have been content with a drop at that point.

What kind of putter do you use? I use a blade putter, mainly because I feel like I have more control when I use it. What do you use? Which do you like more?

I don't think the shafts or grips will have a problem, but if you are worried about scratches on the head you could always get some covers for your irons.

Hello I am new to the forums if you haven't noticed. I am a Freshman in High School and play competitive and recreational golf. I have always wanted to play golf since I was little, like 2 years old; but my mother did not want to pay for golf lessons or let my dad take me out to the course. I got a plastic golf set when I was 1 years old and I would hit plastic golf balls around my yard. My dad and I just picked up golf this year, and we plan on getting a membership this year. I play Basketball, and Baseball for my school's respective teams. I also play street hockey with a buddy of mine on weekends. Can't wait to get settled in here!
