  1. it will still keep moisture away from the headcover but some kind of leather grease of shoe spray will do the same, ideal is probably seal grease for leather care.
  2. nothing a 1 dollar metal saw would'nt do I think. used one to deepen an almost totally disapered bottom grouve on a wockey sand wedge and it worked fine. yet if you use a groove sharpener be carefull of the result on width of grooves which are limited by rules.
  3. anything up to 34-36 putts is too much on average. it depends on your ball striking, I;E. number of greens as well as how bad your misses are around the green. personnally my all game average is just under 32 putts yet only 5 greens on average. it is quit difficule to get a low putting average as 28 putts is more rare than 34-36. nevertheless the only thing I look at while playing is if I roll the ball well in the desired direction. missing close with a good roll is still a very good putt !
  4. swing impouvement, on the BS I need to have my left arm much more in line with my target and my wrist hinged upwards more correctly as of now it is bent towards my back (cupped i think you say). If i can do that this year after 6 years of repetitive mistakes its a miracle.
  5. 4 somes always feel slow for me, especially around the green. I think 3 at golf is ideal. anyway if a player is slow I teel him. 90% of slow player ar'nt slow shoting golf but are slow in their organisation in many maners for very stupid reasons (bag in the wrong place, chips for the green but forgets .to take his putter for the next shot, doesnt prepare the shot to play while waiting for his turn, notes score on the next tee altough he has honors) etc
  6. I dont think so. I did play some serious volley ball at a top amateur level and often played with pros on the beach or in season preparing tournaments. from this experience I noticed that the difference between me and them is tiny but also huge and out really of reach !
  7. it's your preference to finish the hole or not. be carefull of other player lines. dont forget that short putts ar'nt always easy. if you decide to tap in you should anouce your intention (before 2008 we had to ask permission I believe). often player let the winner putt last on the 18th, and the winner does not tap in until his pairing has finished.
  8. 2-4 hours minimum on weekends; I like to dedicate an afternoon on saturday. If I can play competition golf or a course it's sunday. depending on work (agency locations change) I go to practice for lunch, that 5 hours of practice per week. the thing is I love practicing, especially my short game shots around a green with friends we play closest to the flag, hitting range boards etc. One thing I've learned : a big volume of practice is of very little help. i progress really when i take lessons. practice is really for the touch, confidence and fun part but not much more.
  9. help desk in a commercial bank, trying to move me in an office but no rush for me. used to manage direct marketing for paper industry in Paris, then I moved to a village were ther is'nt that type of job.
  10. what am I doing here ? anyway... 38 years old, 6 years of golf, 6.6 in french handicap, probably a 12 handicap as my stroke average is 14.8 in 2012. I play a very windy part of south of france but we can play all year round.
