  1. Anyone know if this shaft is "made for Callaway" or is the OEM shaft? Cheers
  2. Hey, How is your R9 going. They are being released here in the Uk on the 23rd March, so can't wait to try one. Am seriosuly considering buying one. Does the FCT work really well? But, yes, you are right. Just wait for the durge of R9 variants to flood the market from TM shortly!!
  3. Oh, BTW at the moment I am playing Bridgestone B330-RX's.
  4. I would, as a previous posted suggested, go to the range, or your practise area, and hit some old balls to take some of the edge of the grooves. That said, I don't find that my 54 degree cuts up the balls at all, whereas my 58 can leave obvious marks as to where you hit the shot, but not too bad that I would change the ball. Then again, I don' spin the ball that much. Anyway, what I was trying to say is that I think the lower lofted SM are designed with less harsh grooves, so you don't get as much shred on full shots.
  5. Well, the Ping G5's that have served me well for about 3 years have been retired, and I've just bought a 3-PW set of I5's which should arrive Friday. Also, thinking of swapping my 52 degree Tour wedge for a 54 degree Tour W with the T grind. Everything else as is.
  6. This is certainly a local rule in the UK, also known as 'preffered lies', and normally comes into play around the winter months.
  7. I guess I'll see them online next week then!!! Hopkins is just an older Jeff Lacey, right?
  8. Anyone know when these clubs will be available online in the UK?
  9. Ah, I see. Still, if your swing is inconsistent then these certainly won't be helping, whether your swing inconsistencies come from a mental block, or a high handicap. Sorry, I don't have any insights into the mental side of the game. I've never really been that kind of person as I just go out and enjoy playing, no matter how I play. I do have a friend who has been known to wrap his seven iron around a tree!!
  10. Mr Inconsistant One thing that I noticed is that you are playing MP32's. Now I'm no expert, but for someone that has not broken 100 yet I'm surprised your playing these irons. Maybe you need to look at your equipment!!
  11. Hey Wisco, if you had the choice, money no object, would you have gone for the Redwood. I bought one about 3-4 weeks ago (picked it up second hand in my pro shop for £120) and love it, but never tried a Scotty. Just curious!!
  12. I agree with your first point, hence my response on having to accept the consequences if you hit toward an animal, regardless of whether you were trying to hit it or not.
  13. The only person who really knows whether he trying to hit the bird or merely trying to scare the thing off is Tripp. The rest of our comments are purely opinon based.
  14. They are impressive tee shots Larry. It has a great website too, which is unusuall for golf clubs, as I find most of them totally useless.
  15. You see, either I'm just weird, but even that Japanese bug fighting doesn't sit right with me. I know they are only bugs, and that things like this probably happen every day in the wild, but to actually film it for entertainment seems wrong. But then again, the Japanese are a tad different!! The Tripp thing is one of those things. Do I think he was intentionally trying to hit the bird - no, I don't think he was. Do I think that if you hit 10,15,20 balls towards an animal on purpose you have to put up with the consequences if you hit it - yes I do, and because of that he deserves everything he gets. It was stupid and juvneile, but I expect he regrets it now, both becasue he actualy did hit the bird, and as a consequence it died, but more so because of the media attention it is getting now.
  16. Just a conventional grip, like I grip my irons, but I place both my index figures down the grip. To be honest I've never really tried anything else as this has always served me well, and was the first grip I ever used with a putter!!
  17. That is true. All you guys driving around in your Detroit muscle cars... I get around 30 miles to gallon in my car, which isn't too bad.
  18. Hang on, I don't think you get the idea of the exchange rate... . £4.80 per Gallon is not $1.50 more, that is $9.60 per gallon, which is 200% more than you pay.... not that it bothers me that much becasue at the end of the day I pay what I pay. If I couldn't afford it, I'd by a more economical car!!
  19. Ping G5. As my handicap comes down I'm thinking of moving to something else, maybe the I10's. G5's suit me just now, nice enough feel when I hit them right, and great at off centre hits.
  20. Currently use the old Ping Tour wedge, 52 and 58. Love the way both sit behind the ball, and both perfrom well enough, but the feel off the face is pretty dead so when I change I think I'll switch to Titleist or Callaway...
  21. Gotta say, I've just changed from a White Hot to a Redwood, and definitely wouldn't go back.
  22. At my home course we have insurance, and therefore the course pays for any damage caused during a round. I thought I was going to need to use my insurance on Saturday. Tried a flop shot just off the front of the green, and there is a row of houses over the back of the green...totally balded the ball and it shot forward at speed, and very low. Fortunately it bounced off the front of the house, and didn't hit a window.
  23. That is true, I do not get paid in dollars, but in comparison to the average wages between the UK and the US I'd estimate that the proportion of a persons wages that goes towards buying property in the UK is proportiantely higher than in the US!! I don't give two hoots how Oil prices got that high, all I know is that I have to pay them, and actually, the main reason for us having to pay such high petrol prices is down to government taxes on fuel. If I filled up my tank with £50 worth of petrol, roughly £33 of that is going to the government...crazy.
  24. Wow, you guys want to try living in the UK, where the average cost of a house is roughly £220,000, about $430,000 I guess, and the cost of petrol (gas ) Don't even go there!!
  25. Currently using a Taylormade R7 Stand bag, although the stand doesn't quite retract anymore after not a lot of use, so am looking to change for the new Ping Latitude bag, but they are around £100 in the UK... ouch!! Just bought a Titleist X81 Sunday bag on Saturday, haven't used it yet but it has a sturdy looking stand mechanism and is very light, so I am looking forward to using this in the summer...
