  1. My Dad used to be one of the "bigwig" volunteers at the Honda Classic back in the 80's and 90's, so he used to get to play in the pro-ams and got to know some of the pros a bit. I remember going out one year and standing by the first tee waiting for Fuzzy's group to tee off, and my Dad says " you want to meet him?" I was like uhh he's about to tee off in the tournament in a few minutes... but OK. Under the ropes we went and up onto the teebox and I was shooting the breeze with Fuzz for a few minutes. He was amazingly accommodating and seemed to be a really normal guy.
  2. Not the course I used to play the most, but I just joined the men's club here so I can finally get a GHIN. http://www.lakespanawaygc.com/index.php
  3. Years ago I was playing a course in FL and I hooked one into someone's backyard and through their screened patio. Not only were they home, they were on the patio... The guy comes storming out onto the course and confronts us up near the green and starts yelling "Every time one of you hit one through my screen, it costs me $200 to get it fixed. Do you think that's fair?" I told him " No, I think you are getting ripped off. Screen isn't nearly that expensive." and walked away.
  4. Normally I try to walk and save some $$$. $20 - $30 is about average for around here... Playing in Vegas Friday and trying to swallow the $150+ that I think I am going to shell out.
  5. I remember always bugging my Dad to let me go play with him when I was probably 7 or 8. He signed me up for a group lesson at the local muni. My only real memory was the pro asking all of us kids, "Are any of you left handed?", and I raised my hand. He said "O.K., well we don't have any left handed clubs so you will learn to play right handed." All in all, I think that was lucky for me
  6. I snuck out Sunday afternoon at 12:30 and shot an 82 at Sumner Meadows. A miracle that I finished after it took over 3 hours to play the front 9...
  7. 1) Just get back out there and start swinging the sticks again... Last summer I broke my hand and pretty much put me out of commision for the rest of the year. 2) Get my oficial GHIN established finally. After a few years of using the Golf Channel's website to get a handicap, I wanted to get one that will be accepted to play in local tourneys. 3)... actually play in some local tourneys 4) practice, practice and more practice
  8. I finally just joined a club, so now I can get an official GHIN handicap!!! I used to use The Golf Channel's website...
