So I called the store today, found out it was a Scotty Cameron studio design 3.5. Had a black pearl finish all throughout the putter. Not Tour issued, but rather traded in by a "tour" professional. That's where the misunderstanding came in. $200 btw.

Mp-57's get great reviews, and to my knowledge are primarily blades, but still forgiving.

Stick with one. Pick the ONE that you want, and work with it. Switching it out will give you an excuse for playing terrible one day, and you will blame it all on your driver rather than your swing. And I would stick with the tour burner. That's a great club and there's no reason you should be switching it out because you are playing a slight draw. Unless it's an offset, I'd be willing to bet you are experiencing that "superior" feeling you have when using a friends club. Everyone knows that the first few shots with a friends club are amazing! Keep yours, and don't carry two. Or if it's necessary get the other, but DON'T carry 2.

Problem is probably related to you trying to lift the ball up versus hitting down on the ball like an iron. Play your hybrid like a 6 iron, not a 3 wood. Good luck!

I looked online onthe scotty cameron site and found no putter that had the appearance of this one. I'll give it another look but I am basing the fact that it's a tour issued putter based upon what the guy at the store told me. Could have been a misunderstanding. All I know is that it just tel amazing. Better than the studio select in my opinion.

So I was at one of my local stores today, and saw a Scotty in the corner that was just absolutely gorgeous. It was listed at $200 and appeared to have a black pearl finish(dark with a rainbow effect on some areas). It had a custom paint fill on all the letters, I believe yellow on the bottom. The feel was just amazing. Out of all of the putters in the store I ranked that, the Ping Redwood, and my putter in 35" the top 3. Anyways, he told me it was a Tour issued putter, and that a pro came to trade it in because Nike has a new contract with him and wanted him to use one of their putters. Pretty interesting I thought, and $200 seems cheap for a beautiful Scotty in great shape.

TM Burner TP 13* Fairway Wood - Anyone hit this?
bm303 replied to Jon K's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Can't give you information on the club, but at $100 new that sure sounds like a steal to me. I've hit the driver and I have to say it's beautiful. -
I decided to go with the Lamkin Crossline Cord's on my driver and 3w. The guy at the store told me that the Multicompounds will get slippery within a few months and the Crossline's will last much longer. I think they will work well for me, at least until next season.
-
I appreciate your reply BOMBINTHEDRIVER, and I think based upon the great feedback I have been getting I will go with the New Decade Multicompounds. A little overpriced, but I think for the driver/3 wood they will suit me well. I just got my putter regripped a few days ago with a Winn Midsize, and it just seems way to large for my tastes. My distance judgement seems to be greatly impaired, although my direction does seem better since my wrists are more stable. Now my question, do you know of any other grips similar to the IoMic putter grips? I have heard that the black Ping man grip is nearly identical. I'd prefer not to have to purchase a grip online, but if I feel that it will improve my confidence and feel with the putter, I'd pay the $20 + installation fee. So do you know of any other grips similar that I can try out? If not, I suppose I could dish out the cash, but I'd rather go with a similar grip that I can just buy at a store. Thanks!!

Hit it first. I could never purchase any golf club without hitting it and going under extensive testing to figure out if it's worth the money.

So I decided to stick with my R580xd, and considering the grips on my driver and 3 wood are about 1.5 years old, I have narrowed my list of grips down. By the way, I am looking for control and feel most importantly, I really could care less if its soft and spongey as long as it's going to give me great feel and control. Going to try out all of these at my shop next time I stop in. Here is my list: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cords Golf Pride New Decades Winn PCI Hybrid IoMic grip
-
Not on that list but I'd go with a new or used r580xd from eBay. Tested it against all the other new drivers and it was as far if not further than most of the others. Great driver, great price.

Pics taken with my iphone, but here you go:

Today I coked my 588 RTG+ DSG wedges, and they came out beautifully. Obviously my objective is to eliminate glare, and I am going to assume that the raw wedge has some glare considering it is much brighter than the rtg finish. Do you recommend that I let the club naturally rust on its own, or should I soak them in salt water overnight? Any help would be great, thanks a ton.

Thanks for all the replys. After going back to my store, I have made the decision to stick with my regular flex R580xd. Every drive was going approximately 260-270 and pretty straight. Luckily, the guy that was helping me out was possible the nicest person on earth, and gave me a free headcover(lost mine months ago) for my R5 and also used a tool in the shop to polish my driver and 3 wood clubfaces. They had numerous scratches and dings, which are now virtually gone. They look new, and I saved a few hundred bucks. I think next year I will certainly be over the border of regular flex shafts and ready for stiff. Thanks a lot!

Well I decided to get a Winn Midsize Pistol Grip on my putter, and I am loving it based upon my putts on the mat at my house. As for my driver grip, I am going to either get a new shaft and get the hybrid Winn grip, or if I choose to get the TM Burner I'll just use the stock grip. Thanks a ton for the replys!

Had it since release. Add me and I'll be glad to play a round with anyone from the forum. Gamertag: itsnipon

Only problem, is that the shop told me that the Fuji shaft on the burner was designed specifically for the burner, not for other clubs.

I want to throw my putter into a lake
bm303 replied to ping_guy's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If you want insert putters, try out the Odyssey White Hot XG line. You can get most of them new for around $70 on ebay, which is where I got mine. If you are not comfortable and can afford to upgrade, do it. Trade in your putter and upgrade to something you think you can work better with. That's not to say you should buy a new putter every time you putt bad, but rather get one that you can be confident with to learn a proper stroke. -
I believe I can get around $200 for my driver. It is $400 for the head and a stock shaft and I have a shaft that's $50 more than stock shaft. I paid $300 for it slightly used. It's just a very low profile company which will make it harder to sell. I also have 2 extra 3 woods and a putter, so total I think for all my extra clubs I can get around $350-400

I went to Edwin Watt's today, after yesterday I was told by my instructor that I should go on a launch monitor and see if I should use a stiff shaft. My swing speed was averaging about 100-103 mph and the fitter told me that a stiff shaft would be a good idea, and in the near future when I am stronger I will certainly need a stiff shaft, and it would be a good idea now. I am trying to eliminate the snap hook, which starts happening when I get in a groove and start crushing the ball. I was demoing my driver with an Aldila NV regular flex, and a TM Burner 2007 model with a stock stiff shaft. My driver was going about 260 average with the occasional pull hook, while the stiff shafted TM burner was averaging about 270-275. Out of curiosity, I had him put a stiff shafted Aldila NV on the TM Burner. I was hitting the Burner the same as my current driver, about 260 average. So I seemed to be hitting the stock Fujikura Burner shaft about 10 yards further than either of the Aldila NV flex's. The only problem is that I can't get the same Burner shaft on my driver, since it was made specifically for the burner. Now my question: Should I purchase the Taylormade Burner for roughly $200(or $180 if I purchase it online) in stiff flex and just go ahead with that. Or should I keep my driver and find a comparable shaft which I can get installed on my driver for around $100 total. This is a tough decision, because I don't want to spend any more money on equipment, but I'm not going to buy a shaft when I could have a new head for only $80 more. The resale value would be much greater if I were to sell my old driver I think. Any information would be great, and sorry for the long story, but I had to get my exact situation across. Thank you all a lot!!!

Is there any grip that is similar to the IoMic grips? I would prefer to try out the grip before I pay over $18 for it, or at least one similar to know if it would be the correct grip for me.

9th hole two days ago, was my first "match" for varsity at my school. Was playing decent, when i hit my 2nd shot on a par four behind a tree. I was 105 yards out, and in between two roots in a sandy area with a tree 3 feet behind me. I took an inside-out swingpath with a 9 iron and somehow drew the ball right into the center of the green, about 10 feet from the cup.

Thanks for all the replys. I'm going to Edwin Watt's tomorrow to check my shafts on the launch monitor to see if I need stiff shafts. I'll also check out the grips and get a new driver and putter grip. Thanks a lot, hoping for more replys.
