1. I agree, go get fitted. If you go shorter and you don't go with another driver, you will want a club maker to reassemble your driver so that you get the swing weight or moi correct. If you have access to some shorter drivers, I would suggest you go get some impact tape and hit the different length drivers at the range and see if you get more center hits with the shorter shaft I went through a substantial fitting last year and went from 45.25" driver to a 44.5" driver. The impact tape told the tale. We kept dropping 1/4 inch until I had consistent center club head hits. Until I saw it, I would of never guessed that .75" could make that much of a difference. My driving last year drastically improved resulting in more fairways hits, and my misses were usually playable vs OB like years past. Take the time to get fitted, it's worth it
2. SOLD
3. Took care of it, thanks!

6. L2 putter for sale. If you have ever considered face on putting you should try the l2. Putter is 50" in length and in excellent condition, sale includes the head cover. Pictures upon request http://www.laterallineputter.com
7. I am a similar handicap at a 10.5 and I have worked on this part of my game a lot this year. For chipping, I have found this video http://youtu.be/OTCpkYqF8Ig helpful in explaining the rule of 12 or rule of 11, depending on the lofts of your clubs. The chipping motion with this technique after some practice, turns the stroke in to a routine movement with the focus on hitting your spot just in front of you on the green vs thinking of trying to get the ball to the hole. Don't manipulate the club with this process, hand forward with a press and a shoulder motion, enough to get the ball to your mark. The distance will work out if the correct club is selected Give it a shot at a practice green, it can take the guess work out of the equation.
8. Started the season at 12.5 and have been slowly working my way down with a goal of single digits this year. I am currently at a 10.3, need some good rounds to end the year!
9. Here a few photos I took. They include a Mizuno TZoid 1 iron I had laying around for a comparison. I agree with other poster, you can't beat these clubs, they are that good. The low price is just a huge bonus
10. The sole of the club is a little larger that a lot of the blades on the market, but I do not notice it all from the top side of the clubs. That being said, they are not as large as what you would see on player improvement clubs. I'll take a couple of pictures and post them for you.
11. My swing speed with a 6 iron is usually around 87. I usually hit 6 iron 175-180. I used to be my 190 club but I am really working on 80% swings and it has been helping me with accuracy. My driver swing speed is 100-105. I know my stats would point me to a x100 shaft but frankly, I have not noticed any difference. Your results may vary, but I still think length, swing weight and feel are more important.
12. I have always played True Temper S300 in the past. I ordered this set with the True Temper Dynalite Gold SL w/sensicore in the X100 and have been very pleased with them. They were on sale at the time, I think I was around $340 all in on the set, a great deal overall. I have had many others hit the irons at the range and they have been very impressed with the feel of the irons. Go for it, you will not be disappointed. If you are a higher handicap golfer, you may want more offset in your lower irons and may want to consider one of the other sets they offer with more offset. FYI, if you are trying to save some bucks, prior to ordering the set I am playing with I had played with a set with the FST Pro 115 shafts and thought they were pretty nice. On iron shafts, I am of the belief that the shaft (other than length and weight), will make little difference in the overall performance. (see youtube Mark Crossfield Golf Shaft Flex Lesson 3). JMO
13. Dwade, I have played the TE irons for a year and a half now and I am a big fan. I had always been a Mizuno iron player but I have to say I love the TE irons and they are very affordable. I really like the minimal .100 offset that is consistent throughout the set. I purchased the 4-GW. They have a nice thin top line, clean shape, and they are very forgiving compared to the MP62s I was playing. I also play the Maltby tour Grind wedges switching from Cleveland wedges that I have played forever.
14. I had the pleasure of playing with John this past week at his clubs guest day. Thanks again John for a great day of golf! It was a lot fun and John was a real trooper putting up with my game while playing in the rain for most of the day" :-). John has a solid and consistent game, fun to watch. If anyone ever has the chance, take John up on his offer to play. Winghaven is a very nice course but more important, everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming to the guests, a great day. Thanks again John, fairways and greens.
15. I could not agree with this more. I am dropping my 60 degree wedge as well. I have a 47 deg PW, 51 GW, 56 SW and used to carry a 60 LWwith 8 deg bounce. I found myself using it less and less as I can make all of the shot with my 56 SW when needed. Choking down on club, moving ball from back foot to front, etc. I have had more confidence sticking with the 56 vs having one more option with the 60, a club that I had to always worry about lie, length of rough, thick zoysia vs Bermuda etc. I ended up carrying an extra hybrid instead or sometimes depending on course, just having a lighter bag with one less club. :-D
16. 2014 Goals - get fitted for new driver - improve off of the tee. Too many ob's (I'll hit a wedge if I have too:-D) - currently a 12, get to single digit HC - improve GIR from last year
17. Excalibur Maduro III or lately I have been hooked on Alec Bradely Nica Puro in the Gordo!
18. Could not agree more, get fitted! IMO it is all about driver shaft length, weight, flex point, stiffness, and the feel of a firm or soft tip. After that, swing weight and total weight of the club. After that, the club head loft, face neutral open or closed, and eventually lie angle come in to play I think once you get those figured out you could throw any brand head on the end and you will have good results assuming you have a workable swing. There are a lot of options out there for a fitting, big box store, club pro, local club fitter, wishon fitter etc. IMO the latter ones will deliver a more elaborate fitting based on more than just 20 minutes on a swing monitor as they will normally include range time and the viewing of ball flight vs just numbers. Good luck, it's worth the time and effort! :-D
19. I am not a ping guy but my brother plays them, they have great service if you ever need your clubs adjusted, refinished, etc. they cost more, but they provide excellent service at the factory when needed. Good luck with your new sticks. Not sure what you were playing, but with a 4 iron at 23 degrees loft and a PW at 45 degrees loft on the g25, I assume you will pick up distance :-P
20. If you want to get a handle on shafte and grip prices, go out to golfwokprks.com and you will be able to see the retail price difference between those items. The major mfg use shafts in their own name at times which will make it difficult to determine what you are getting some times, but most offer the option of Tt, KBS, Project X etc.
21. Watched her utube video, what a long and smooth swing!
22. Agree on the club comparison, but a big Bertha vs a persimmon would add some distance. That distance pulse the ball changes, makes up most of the distance advantages IMO. Also, a player using balata and persimmon could not afford to swing off of their feet like bubba, they would rarely be in the fairway if they did back the due tithe spin and ball design
23. I think the biggest change in distance is the golf ball. The advent of titanium face on the driver is a large change as well, but let's face it, the mfg are capped on the cor that they can produce a driver face so there is a limit to technology since. The ball however, continues to develop. The attached link is on a test of titleist balls from the balata to the current pro v1 ball. All test are. With a player that has a 110 mph swing, less than. The longest tour pros by quite a bit. Look at the distance changes. On the balls, easily 35 yards just due to the ball! If nicklaus were using a titanium faced driver and a current pro v1 he would be hitting it just as far as the modern player. And. By the way, I doubt that a bubba could hit the balata ball as straight as he does the modern ball. He would be all over the course! http://www.andrewricegolf.com/2011/08/evolution-of-a-golf-ball/
24. 30 rounds a year Avg 86 49 yrs old
25. I agree with everyone, once it gets in your head you just think about it too much. I had the same problem for awhile last year, it was the short puts that were killing me. I would push and pull my misses. I started to prefer putts outside of 4' lol. I started looking at the hole vs the ball on short putts and have never looked back. It works! Think of shooting a basketball, you focus on the rim when you shoot a free throw, not the ball, but somehow your mind takes over and gives you the right distance as you follow through to the rim. Same thing applies here. I even do it on short putts with break, but I putt to my spot ( while looking st the spot). Check out the end of the video in the link below, Shawn clement gave me the idea. I think I heard the announcers on last weekend pga tour event mentioned one of the players closes his eyes on really short putts. Give it a try. It feels very strange at first, but it will get you to finish your stroke long and to the hole
