  1. I know the subject has kind of been addressed in a few threads, but like the subject states, 'can a closed face at the top of the swing work?' I had my swing taped and its kind of shut up top. To me, it feels right. I usually have to make an agressive lower body move to square the face back up at impact. When im hitting the ball well, it results in a nice draw. Does anyone else do the same? I think there are a few pga pros who are also closed up top and hit straight bombs. thanks
  2. i also sold my new titleist fairway wood. i could not hit it for the life of me. i went for the callaway ft-5 3 wood. I can bomb this thing about 250!! that said, i absolutely love the d2 titleist driver.
  3. lol. thats a given. guys who work at large sports retailers are basically hight school drop outs and don't know much about what they sell. I know for a fact that very few tour pros use clubs off the rack. Just about everything is prototype or adjusted specifically to their swing. The only people i believe about advice on equipment are reps from the manufacturers themselves.
  4. to me, customer service also has a lot to do with brand loyalty. I mean, if a company had crappy customer service, i'd find a different companies clubs that i liked. like someone else said, callaway has treated me like a pga pro when im really just a normal joe. that means a lot to me. I'll always keep something callaway in my bad because of this.
  5. I wasn't before i visitied the callaway performance center. But now, I will definitely use some sort of callaway gear whether it be balls, irons, or drivers. I usually never stick to one brand for all the clubs in my arsenal. I can't say enough good things about callaway and their customer service. Anyobody else?
  6. i saw these in person at the callaway hq in carlsbad. they look damn nice, but i don't think i could hit them. the head is tiny. looks like a true blade. they will make them in limited quantities and will cost a buttload. I actually got to swing it, but didn't hit balls :(
  7. I open my stance and club face a little with 3-5 irons. it helps since i have a tendency to hook these clubs.
  8. i have these irons with those exact shafts. go to a local callaway performance center and get them fit. best $150 you can spend. I've played ping, mizuno, Hogan, and a few others. these x-forged are the best looking and performing irons i've had to date. the mizuno's were a close second, but too difficult to hit.
  9. thanks. any experience with it??
  10. I'm not sure thats what they are called, but its like a small bean bag that you can swing into to work on impact. I've tried one before at a golf camp and it really helped me get into the correct position when striking the ball. thanks
  11. has anyone hit the ap1 or ap2 back to back with a callaway x-forged iron?
  12. i used to be a titleist pro v guy, but i'm going to go w/ the callaway hx tour and ix now on. for some reason, the callawy explodes harder off the face and stops for me very quickly on the green. They also seem much more durable than the titleist. If i was a 25 hc, i'd just play whatever i can get my hands on.
  13. i would pay a few hundred just to try the course out in US open conditions. i think it would be fun to get my ass handed to me and make me realize just how good the pros really are.
  14. i've tried the vokey spin mill and sold it right away. I opted for the cg 12 DSG and i love them. Feel and looks great. I can pretty much do anything i want with these wedges
  15. what do you guys recommend for the following: 1. My clubface is very shut at the top. 2. My lower body is too quick causing my swingpath to be almost 12 degrees in to out when it should be in the area of 5-7. A guy at callaway recommended i practice dropping my hands to start the swing, which is very difficult to do. Any other tips? thanks
  16. yup. they feel and look awesome. I can stop them on a dime too. Some say they may even spin too much, but i usually shoot past the pin and spin it back.
  17. i just bought the cg12 zip groove wedges and absolutely love them. i like them way way way more than the vokey, but thats just me.
  18. i bet im better.
  19. this is an extremely risky play unless you are a damn good golfer. Off a tight lie, most guys would scull this over the green. I'd only lob a 60 if i had a bunker in front of me.
  20. i would say a 56 degree. two hop and stop.
  21. what do you mean purposely blurs vision?
  22. good advice. i will try that. appreciate it.
  23. i play the vs proto shaft in my d2 driver. i like it so far. i am a high ball hitter so not sure this was the best choice. I probably should have went for a shaft that gives me a lower/boring trajectory.
  24. i live the 60 deg. cg12
  25. went out and picked up the 906f4 fairway wood and two cg12 rtg zip groove wedges. the fairway wood is actually easy to hit given its size. when u flush it, you hear a nice click sound. i hit it about 240 off the tee and about 220 off the deck. this is my first fairway wood in a long time so i'm still working on getting comfy with it off the deck. Do you guys have any tips?? I find myself hitting thin a lot.... The wedges are pure butter. Super soft and bite hard. Couldn't be happier with these. My clubs are set now: Titleist 907 D2 driver Titleist f4 wood Callaway x forged irons Cleveland RTG cg12 wedges Teardrop TD21 putter
