My Little Blade vs. GI Iron Test
670forged replied to dwade247's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Kind of hard to compare when you have a 7 iron and 5 iron with 2 different lofts and probably 2 different shafts All I get out of this is the 5 iron is somewhat more accurate except for a couple of thin/flyer shots. The only thing I don't care for is any type of simulator as I have found real world results are always different. Only other thing is the 7 iron appears to be just as long as the 5 iron. So my question is......what is your point you are trying to make because I don't get it? Sorry, maybe it's just me. -
G-15 driver: Game improvement but sits square I-15 driver: Pro version and sits square to slightly open I-15 irons: this years combination of G series long irons and I series short irons so you don't have to mix the two on your own. That's what I am going to like most, not having to decide where to split the set at. Mike

Nobody said they would win a beauty contest but they can win you money from your playing partners It's funny that when I look at my scorecard I have never seen any pictures of my clubs, only numbers. I have played mostly blades but don't get out much anymore so I have decided to just get a set of Pings and retire. Besides, I only live a few miles down the road incase I ever do have any problems or need them adjusted. This thread was only started to make anyone aware of when the new Pings were coming out, not start a forged vs. cast vs.blades. vs.cavity back war. We all have seen to many of those in the past. Enjoy what you play and play what you enjoy and may this be your best year ever.

Here is what I recieved from Ping today. I will be going down to the factory on July 31st to get fitted for the complete set, providing they have them by then. Mike, The official release date for the new line is July 27th, at which point all the information should be public knowledge. When it comes to having them here for fitting purposes, it will also be after the 27th until we have them here to view and be fit for. I would call in advance before coming to make sure we have the new stuff actually here in the fitting building. I hope this helps, and thank you in advance for your support of PING!! Steve La

If you really like the driver and don't want to buy a new one, then take it to a clubmaker and have him fill the head with foam. We did this to my friends and it muted it and did not affect the playability at all. With most drivers today, they all seem to be getting loud. As for me, I just adjust the volume on my hearing aids

Your playing a Ping G-10. My best advise is to contact pings customer service and see if they can change it out for you. They have great customer service and I have had shafts replaced and only paid for the grips. Doesn't hurt to ask them

i am waiting to try the new I-15 and G-15 series that are coming out. They have the Sedona Red color instead of burnt orange. As far as someone saying they are made in the US, sorry but most of their clubs are being out sourced in China and assembled here in Phoenix. They still make some models here but can't remember off the top of my head which one's. All of the woods and hybrids are made in China. (The old man has to be turning over in his grave).

Nike One Tour & Tour D
670forged replied to DES NUTTZ's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
TGW.com has them on sale and no tax. Anyone notice that Nike dropped their prices on all of the equipment? Must be our wonderful economy or new models coming out soon. -
Possible USGA ruling on long/belly putters
670forged replied to gas_can's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I said no because some people that I have played with use them because of back problems, etc. If my back doesn't get better then I may be using one soon too! When you young guns get older like me, you will then appreciate the equipment that allows us to play this great game just a few more years. If they become illegal and I happen to go to one, then I will just play for fun and not keep a handicap anymore and drop my USGA membership. Just my opinion which doesn't mean diddly squat to the USGA or others anyway. Mike -
Magnetic bracelets/ pendants?
670forged replied to PutterHead's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Have been wearing the Sabona bracelet for two years and have not had anymore golfers elbow problems. Have been wearing the QLink pendant for 2 months and even though i'm not sure about it, the wife has noticed my stress level has decreased and i'm not as hot headed on the course. Do they really work? Who knows and I don't care cause golf is 90% mental to begin with. golfchief, I live here in the desert (Arizona) but we don't have any pyramids to sleep in, any other ideas to wart off evil spirits? -
I have both the Titleist and Ping bags, both only 2 months old. IMHO the Titleist is 10 times better. Mike

How Much are your Balls Worth?
670forged replied to iacas's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Just recently switched from pro v1 to pro v1x after extensive launch monitor and range testing. I always was led to believe that you had to have extremely high swing and ball speed to use the x model but found out thru proper testing that it was all b.s. My driver swingspeed is only 101 mph average and the x model has helped me decress my handicap by 1.2 strokes. The x model does feel a little harder but seems to help tighten dispersion and still holds greens. Am going to test a ust frequency filtered putter shaft to see if I can get a softer feeling off the putter face. Great ball for my game but the competition is so close these days it's hard to say that one ball is any better then the next. My opinion and advice would be to test the balls your interested in on a launch monitor and on the range and use what fits your game best regardless of price. -
1-Yes I am special! 2-does it really matter? 3-I like them better! 4-Figure it out for yourself

No sh1t dumbass, they're not available to the public is why you don't see them on there website. Your're the f--cking loco.

I wasn't talking about my driver or fairway wood shafts, I was talking about the Grafalloy blue's my irons and wedges. Anyway, enjoy your steel and i'll enjoy my graphite. To each his/her own.
-
I thought you said irons aren't for distance but yet you hit your 4 iron 220??? Also, talking about torque, have you checked out the specs lately in graphite iron shafts? .2 (yes, point 2 degrees differance then Dynamic Gold) is not noticable to 99.999% of golfers. Not to argue but my Grafalloy blue (not pro launch) has 1/2* lower torque then your ZZ Lite shafts. Graphite is not just made for ladies or seniors anymore, they are for everyone. Please let John Daly and Rich Beem know that they are too old to play on tour cause they use graphite. Edit: Just double checked and TT Dynamic Gold steel is 1.7* torque and Aldila NV tour 130 iron shafts are 1.5* Pretty impresive for graphite to be lower then steel without nano tube technology!

GPS vs Laser Rangefinder
670forged replied to greenail's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm sorry but this debate is cracking me up. I use the skycaddie as I only need an approx. distance. Why is this discussion so funny to me? If anyone on this board thinks that you have to have the exact, to the inch yardages, are you that good to hole out every shot? If you are that good then you don't need a putter in your bag. Last I checked today, Tiger didn't hole out any shots and he knows exact yardages. So if he can't, what makes you think you can? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I just recently installed the Grafalloy Blue (not prolaunch) in my Titleist 670 forged blades and won't go back to steel. Just a 1/2* higher in torque then the DG's I was using. Use to have the Aldila NV multi and they were great shafts too. I am 48 and have hip and elbow problems and now am able to play 36 a day and not hurt anymore. Don't knock graphite until you try a top quality shaft, you just may surprise yourself. Mike

I heard last week on puregolf XM146 that TM plans on releaseing the balls and ads during the Masters. This was a Executive of TM that was on his program. We'll see as I would be interested in trying a sleeve. Mike
