  1. I've played golf with a few ladies who could (and have beaten me) , although funny thing is they are mostly proffesional now. If you guys watched the Womens World Cup of Golf, the one South African competitor Ashleigh Simon, and I used to play together loads when we used to go to the same coach... great golfer, but could she compete with me off the mens ?? (lol, I had to add that for some obligatory male sexism... haha, I joke) Another one who plays on the Ladies European Tour now, is Stacey Bregman... we playe amateur golf together a couple of times, and she I think could compete with me off the mens, at one stage she was hitting the ball about 20yds behind me, but I think she has since throttled back. Good female golfers are sexay, and the proof is the fact that my ex GF and I met playing Junoir golf :)
  2. Driver = 310yards 3 wood = 270yards 5 wood = 250yards 3 iron = 240yards 4 iron = 230yards 5 iron = 220yards 6 iron = 200yards 7 iron = 185yards 8 iron = 170yards 9 iron = 160yards pw = 145yards 54 sw = 130yards 60 lw = 100yards Also bear in mind that this is at high altitude, you can deduct 10yard for sea level. Also note, I dont really try and hit the ball as far as I can with each club, I swing at about 90% most of the time, so also roughly 10 yards off my max dist.
  3. I found that tilting the putter forward (or havign a forward press) makes the ball skid a lot more off the putter face than usual (which makes sense as you are reducing the lost on the putter face), so not my cup of tea. also tilt in your shaft is effected by your ball position...
  4. I've got some cents 2 add, now I assume I along with every other South African golf fan was rooting Trevor on, especially after I played some junior golf with him (although I do admit he was finishing up when I was just starting to play in the same tournaments) , and then my sisters best friend is Trevor's wives cousin and I do agree, she is stunning!! My gripe comes with regard to Gary Player. He is always looking at a way to be in the lime light, although oftne good does come from it, I still find it's mostly for personal gain. I bet if I had continued on and won a major, he would have have said I was his protege, just for the fact that I met him a couple times at his old farm Blair Athol, when I was younger while my father was doing work there, cause he showed me some tips on bunker play (which I still hold firm in my head to this day, and it's some of the best advice I've ever had and I regard the only thing that makes me the exceptional bunker player I am today)

    Eagles!?!?!

2 many 2 mention... Made a few on drivable Par4's, many on Par5's but alas the Par3 Eagle eludes me
  6. I used to play with the Pro V1x , been playing Titleist since the days of the old Professional ball. but I made a switch to the Nike ONE Platinum, mainly as I like the way it comes off the face when I'm chipping, it doens't seem to spring off the face like the Pro V1x does, which gives me more confidence, and I find it easier to control the spin and trajectory.
  7. I 1st picked up a golf club when I was 3 (even have proof, a Dummy in the mouth and I'm hacking at a ball with a plastic golf club) , I used to hit the range with my father quite a bit till I was around 9ish, when I started playing baseball, till about the age of 14, when I gave it up, and concentrated on my golf. I had aspirations of being a pro, and would practice 5 days a week, and play on the weekend, somtimes 36 holes in one day. By ythe time I was 18, I was playing off a +1 and was regarded as one of the best golfers in my club, having won Junior Club Champs come 3rd in Senior champs, and played under 16 Provincial golf (like playing for my state) Then came the realisation of girls, motorracing and alcohol... I stopped playing almost over night, and rarely played for 2years. Then the next 2 I played socially maybe every 3 months. Over this time my handicap went up to a 3, but has since dropped back down to a 1 since the beginning of this year as I play ever more seriously, and I'm even considering playing scratch league (inter club league, where we all play off 0 in a match play format) So it should be a great year ahead for me with regards to golf.
  8. Funny thing this, when I play and especially when I was a very competitve golfer thinking about turning pro we all used to hit our drivers more than 270yards (most of us avg around 270meters) , but I guess we dont compare with your usual weekend hacker. I i know I hit the ball about 300 yards... I also know that when I play with my fathers friends who are you avg weekend golfer they would be lucky to be within 50yards of me at best.
  9. I hit a 6 up here at altitude, I could really hammer a 7, but it's not my thing... at the coast I guess it would be an easy 5. But, yeah I hit it fairly long but then I do workout so thats a factor, plus I've always been a fairly long hitter my whole life, so with training I just hit the ball further.
