  1. I have been trying to develop more consistent contact with my iron swing and need some advice. I am 6'2" and play with an off the rack set of Titleist 735.cm irons. Even thought I am taller than the standard golfer (i'm told most clubs are built for a 5'10" golfer), I like to have a wide and low stance. When you couple my low stance with my long arms, the toe of my club sticks much too high off the dirt. My swing is much more consistent with my hands low to the ground. Should I try to get a more normal upright stance or have my irons adjusted? What are the problems with a low hand position? This is a recent change I have made so now is the time to adjust one way or the other. Thanks.

  3. Extra ball in my left pocket, 4 tees in my right pocket (3 long, 1 short), divot tool and ball marker in right pocket. I pick up all whole tees i see on a tee box. Nothing too strange.
  4. I have the hardest time keeping my focus after dunking a ball in a water hazard. I had a great round today except for two holes that I tripled, both of them after shots into the water. How do you regain your focus after washing one? I put too much pressure on the next shot trying to make a hero shot and save par or bogey.
  5. I shot a 77 with two triples. Man I hate water hazards.
  6. Got in a quick nine after work. Three birdies, two bogeys, and four pars for an up and down 35. Had a chip in for birdie on a hole I had really played awful. Sometimes the golf god's smile on idiots.
  7. Byron nelson said the center of these new clubs hits the same as the center of his old clubs
  8. I'm getting married in October and need an idea for a quick honeymoon that won't bust my small bank account. Where are some good places to go? The wedding is in Georgia and i'm only figuring on a three or four day honeymoon because of work commitments, so the destination has to be fairly close to Georgia so we don't spend all our time traveling. Unfortunately, no time for golf either, so don't use that as a consideration. We live in Florida so beaches are not really a big factor either. Where do I go?

  10. I just got my new driver in today. It's a Cleveland HiBore XL that I bought on sale. My old driver was a reliable old Titleist 975 with a small heads typical of that style driver. My new Hibore has a giant head (compared to my old titleist) and I have a question about how that head looks at address. When I set up to the ball should the head be tilted a little bit where so that the toe is pointing up slightly? If I try and make the clubhead level my arms have to be too upright and it is not comfortable. The driver hit fine in my round this way today, but i am going to the range tomorrow to really break it in and i want to make sure i am doing it right now so i won't have to correct a bad habit later. Thanks for any help.

  13. Hit an eagle with my nine iron from 145 out today. Didn't get to see it go in but it was a nice surprise to look in the cup and find it there. Only the second eagle I have ever had from 100+.

  15. Thanks for all the help. I tried all the suggestions and now am happy to report that I have a consistent little fade. That beats the hell out of a left pull. I am still not sure exactly what fixed it, but I think I was swinging outside in and the club face was closed by the time it hit the ball.
  16. My irons generally have a straight ball flight but I can hook them if I get anxious and swing to quick. I have a tendency to close my clubface right before my take away as I tighten my grip and this could be part of the problem, but I seem to do that more with my irons than my woods.
  17. I am pulling my driver hard left off the tee box, not really a hook, just a hard line drive. I have a slight wrist sprain and think thats part of the problem, but I don't know the best way to fix this. Should I try moving the ball a little further back in my stance to make sure my club face is not snapping through and pointing to the left when it hits the ball? Widen my stance so I don't snap through so quick? Not swing for a few days and let my wrist get better and see if that fixes it? Any suggestions?

  19. As off target as my approach shots are, I have to say pitching and chipping. If you are gonna do a lot of it, you might as well smile and call it your favorite.
  20. I used to put a club in that clubs same spot every time, but then I got an Ogio Vaporlite bag, so now I just group them similarly.
